Given how I the US hasn't even got Bearer yet, Im really not bothered to wait it out for whenever the WM30 set will show up. Therefore, thanks to an awesome member on here, The Dave, I now have this awesome set in hand which was probably my most wanted figures. Given I was at WM30 and it was my first, Im really enjoying slowly building up a collection of figures to commemorate the event to go with my WM30 WWE title and and the rest.
Id have to say hands down, this is the coolest BAF set yet. Standout quality figures with Cena being the only 'bait' figure but its still one of his absolute best so its a set of winners, well except Bray and Taker if you take that literally.
Though this set is loose, I may pick up MOC ones down the track, this is awesome packaging and one of Mattel's finest! (ridiculous canadian stickers aside) Be warned though, the figures have been packed poorly. Bryan's titles bend in weird ways (some plates start to separate from the strap) and its strapped to one hand by a band because they did not use an open hand. Meanwhile takers hat looks sad and deflated as it gets all bent. Nonetheless, a great set.
MOC:
Cena:
Admitted by Mattel to be the 'budget' figure of the set because Taker nearly killed the budget. One of Cena's best though with a great scan and awesome details. We all wish it had the shirt but hey at least we are getting it in E34. This figure will be getting E34's chain and shirt and E34 goes up for sale. Shirt is all this figure needs to be complete.
Bryan:
The star of this year's wrestlemania no doubt, Bryan had to be in this set. Would have been cool to see moulded fur pads but that would mean new moulds and the reason why take rarely appears in these sets because new moulds take time, something this set cannot afford. One of bryan's best figure for sure. The skin tone will always look terrible in photos but looks fine in person and this one of my favourite bryan scans, he has had too many terrible ones with less hair. Great detail on the title and awesome inclusion of two glossy belts. I'm currently make arm wrapping for him to display on.
Wyatt:
As incredible as the Taker is, this Wyatt gives it a run for its money and is probably my favourite in what is an incredible set. Complete with the one stripe down the side of the pant leg on one side, brown gloved hand and the writing on his singlet, this figure is loaded with detail. I held off on his initial Elites and know I know why, for this one. The snakeskin boots look great and the scan is awesome as it always has been for Bray. I believe the logo is missing from the hat but thats a minor issue. Great details and a unique colour scheme puts this ahead of every bray. At last my Wyatt family is complete. The lantern is also a clear material, not that rather fake looking yellow-green used on the one that came with elite harper.
Underrrrrrtaakkkkkkeeerrrrrrrr:
From one of the PPV's most memorable encounters and perhaps the most shocking moment in WWE history, it's Undertaker. Great to see him appear in the mania set for once. Incredible details on the coat. It's an old mould but glad they went the full distance with the detailing. The hat gets bent horribly in the box and probably needs flattening but it still has the silver and red detailing too. A solid scan for taker too. Definitely one of the best in the set and one of Taker's best figures because of all that painted detail. Must buy!
Director of Operations, Kane
At last, Mattel makes it's first attempt at Corporate Kane. The suit does not look as blue in person as initially thought however I cannot ever recall him wearing the blue suit on TV or in any photoshoot. The light blue tie I believe was in an 8x10 studio shot or something and in fact he wore it this past week (a darker version). The blue suit remains a really bizarre choice. If there was anyone who should have had a black suit and red tie, it was Kane. Guessing they wanted to mix it up from the past BAF's and bearer who has the same scheme but an unnecessary change if you ask me. Still a great figure, the height is great and most Kane fixups don't account for this but its a big deal, no pun intended. The scan is the same as the basic and its still one of mattel best likenesses. Glad to finally have suited corporate Kane in the collection. Though I wouldn't be too surprised to see mattel slot a basic version somewhere if he remains corporate for much longer.
My corporate Kane's:
Also, don't believe about how good Mattel is at nailing Kanes likeness? This accidental picture is a pretty good indicator!
And here is my WM30 collection as it stands. Still a few more to add (e.g. brock, hogan, etc) and hopefully mattel is releasing a few others (hhh, batista, orton).
Any questions or requests, let me know! Here's hoping this shows up in the not too distant future for everyone. Maybe before WM31. :/
