He's The Rock in name only when he returns...I don't expect him to be exactly how he was 15 years ago...

Never cared for him then, don't now. Only time I liked him was 'Hollywood Rock'.

Ever since he came back the issue has been that he's always very "wink wink" in his promos. He's not the Rock. He's Dwayne playing the role of the Rock.

Have you watched any of his returns? He gets the biggest pop every single time. Last night being the only exception.

If your there in the arean ofcourse your going got pop for him! But hes just been such a let down the last few years in terms of entertainment. Ive heard him cut promo's and ive cringed! I never thought id cringe at any of his promo's.

For the record, I'm not one of them, but it's impossible to dispute.

Yeah, its kind of like expecting The Undertaker to come back next week as the ministry of darkness Taker with all of his minions, sacrificing people and calling out Austin for a first blood match... The ship sails at a certain point with the legends And they only come back for a polite wave and nod to the fans....The Rock we see now is only a slightly heightened version of who you'd get if he was on live with Kelly and Michael or Ellen Degeneres.

The Rock character died the night after WMX7. In his place rose the Phoenix, or in this case Dwayne Johnson. Either way I've always been a Dwayne fan and always will be.

Is this another one of those "Rock Sold Out for Hollywood" type threads again?

He is different. But like others have said what can you expect? It's been 15 years.

He's kinda corny and cheesy. Like Cena. So's Jericho. And it's not a good thing.

Brock & Rock sweat because they're on juice that cuts them up.

While I agree that The Rock isn't who he once was, sweating doesn't mean he and Lesnar aren't physically fit. Genetically, some people just sweat more than others. Oh dont get me wrong, you are entitled to sweat in a match wrestling... but running down the ring to bust a move or two? For goodness sakes he lost a litre of water.Pretty sure The Rock pours water over himself before he hits the ring (as seen on the Rock/Cena Once In A Lifetime documentary) and I wouldn't necessarily call bouncing on the spot during his entrance 'dancing'.. Hell, Lesnar does it right before his pyro goes off lol. But yeah, I still love The Rock/Dwayne regardless of the fact he's not what he was back in the 2000's, I find him to be more humble since going to Hollywood and still entertaining.

I guess I'm just not really sure what you expect him to say/do when he appears. So, if he grew long sideburns and wore silk dress shirts again that would somehow make him more entertaining? Jericho doesn't have long hair or wear tight leather pants like he did in 1999, either, when he appears. But he could stil be the same cocky arrogant guy we knew. Just like Austin still is that bad ass when he shows up. It comes down to entertainment and as a fan I dont find him entertaining anymore. The last time Austin appeared he was smiling, laughing, joking around and drinking beers with Hogan and Rock. That' a long ways away from what he was doing as the Texas Rattlesnake back in the Attitude Era.

Rock's stuff in 1999-2000 was cringeworthy too, but we were kids so we liked it.

The Rock was a guy in his prime during an innovative time. Now the guy who portrayed him is a middle-aged guy trying to help out a moribund company. Of course you won't get the same feeling.
And I don't even have the words describe fitness being equated solely with sweating. Let's not forget that Brock Lesnar was an NCAA heavyweight wrestling champion. Then he was the UFC heavyweight champion. Those are two of the most physically demanding sports on the planet. Flair was a great physical entertainer (ironically, also known for his profuse sweating), but he doesn't have anything on his competitive resume that compares with Brock's.

Is this another one of those "Rock Sold Out for Hollywood" type threads again? I don't think so, it might be the "Roman needed The Rock to sell his Royal Rumble win to the WWE fans." thread.. Either way, nothing good comes from it.
