Yes Im one of the many that has received Hulk Hogan in the mail this week. I wont bore you with the same ol pics everyone is posting. Im sure you know what it looks like by now but here's a few with CLOTH shirts that I picked up from Ralphus a few years ago...
That being said...Last week I got my Flashbacks from Elite 33. JYD was one of my most wanted figure. As a kid many years ago I use to jump off the back of my couch and elbow my sister while she was watching TV, yelling out "JYD off the top rope". So when JYD came needless to say I sent her a picture of him and we shared a good laugh. The X-Pac figure wasnt very high on my list. I would much prefer 123 Kid or Syxx in his Thug outfit. The figure is pretty nice though and while Im not a fan of the European Title that came with him (missing logo) I think the Cruiserweight Title looks pretty dope0
I had hoped for a couple years now that we would be getting a Flashback Goldust. It doesnt appear to be very high on Mattel's list so I was going to settle for Elite 6 until I saw the crazy prices that were being asked for it. Once this Goldust was announced I knew I had to pounce on it. While it technically isnt a Flashback, I felt I needed to put him on the shelf with the rest in hopes we get a legit one with gold strapped IC Title. I swapped the head with Basic Series 44 as it seem more unique looking. Austin is just your simple Austin but added the bigger arms on him. I just wasnt a fan of the scrawny arms it came with and once I found the basic for cheap, I couldnt resist.
Somehow, and Im really now sure how....Ive ended up with every AJ Lee figure made. Im not a big Divas fan...in fact I find them terrible wrestlers, Total Divas is awful and there *SOME* fans of divas that are just super creepy....Yet I have nearly every divas figure made and I cant figure out how. But here's my AJs...
A little story about this next figure....About 20 some odd years ago I was on vacation with my mom when we ran across a KB Toys Outlet. While in there they had WWF Hasbro figures for like $3. I asked my mom for the Purple Razor Ramon and Giant Gonzales. She told me that I could only get one today and we would come back tomorrow and get the other. I told her that I needed both but she wouldnt budge and I had to choose in which I chose Giant Gonzales. She said that the store was an outlet and that meant it was toys that people didnt want, so Razor would be there tomorrow. Low and behold the next day we go back and Razor Ramon was GONE! As a kid I was crushed cause I was really wanting that Razor. I year or so later I ended up in the same situation where I could chose 1 figure and passed on Bulldog & Undertaker to get the Razor in red trunks...Anyway, I would jokingly for years make comments about wanting something and my mom would say "wait for......" and I would always be like "yea thats what you said about purple Razor Ramon". Anyway last month was my 31st birthday and low and behold my mom finally bought me...
Gotta admit...While I dont collect Hasbro figures anymore...Its pretty cool to say 20 some years later she still went out of her way to buy it for me!
Now to end this whole blabber fest, I have to just straight up say THANK YOU MattelDesignTeam ! We all bicker, moan, groan, bitch and whine about something on the boards. There's arguments about what company made better figures etc. But I have to say Mattel has gone far and beyond anything I could ever imagine. I realize that we're not likely to get guys like Johnny Rodz, Arnold Skaaland or even Buddy Rogers but Mattel is clearly giving us the "whos who" in wrestling when it comes to the top guys. While they might not be your favorite, with the exception of Sting (who is coming next year)...I dont think any fan of WWF/WCW can look at the picture below and say "The top guy when I was growing up isnt shown". And not only that, Mattel is the ONLY company that has given us ALL of these guys! Well Done!
