Now I've been a long time proponent of getting every WWE Champion in history in figure form and while I'm sure some will come at some point when Mattel gets the rights (Sid and Backlund) and a couple are held hostage in TNA (Angle, Hardy), there's the handful of those "early guys" that might not have the name power of Jeff Hardy or Sycho Sid. Men such as Stan Stasiak, Pedro Morales, Ivan Koloff, and to a lesser extent, Superstar Billy Graham (I'm sure Billy Graham would make for a killer figure and is a pretty big name, but I think his current relationship with WWE would hold back a figure deal). The of course, there's the man who started it all. The original "Nature Boy", Buddy Rogers. Measuring in at 6 ft, 235 lbs, Buddy Rogers was a true innovator in professional wrestling, being the first wrestler to have all of the traits that we hold dear in our current superstars. He could talk, he could wrestle, he had the look, and he carried himself like a true champion. Although he only held the WWWF title for 22 days, he still holds the distinction of being the first champion in a long lineage of the biggest names in the history of the business. A longtime WWE Hall of Famer, Rogers is a well known favorite of Vince Jr's, having cited Rogers as the inspiration for his signature power-walk. While Rogers may not have the most exciting design, I think Bruno Sammartino proved that the market exists for these old school champions. This would be a first time figure for the Nature Boy and if packed with a vintage WWWF title, it would serve to only sweeten the pot. I can guarantee that I'm not the only one here that would love to see such a legend in figure form, hopefully this can be the start of a movement to convince Mattel to dig back and let Buddy Rogers live again.

It was a little long for me to read, but I agree. I didn't know Bunny's last name was Rogers actually, but MDT should really get working on him asap. Put him in a two-pack with Adam Rose or as a solo figure, whichever gets him out fastest.

I would love a Buddy Rogers and would absolutely buy one....However, if Magnum TA cant even get a figure, there isnt a chance that Buddy can. Yes, I realize that Buddy accomplished more (world champion) then Magnum but Buddy did it over 50+ years ago...Even Magnum has been relevant since then.

Buddy Rogers would get a buy from me due to historical significance alone. Unless they packaged him in a two pack with Jeff Hardy or gave him 20 title belts as an accessory, he wouldn't sell all that well unfortunately....so they probably won't make him. He's one of the names that would've benefited from being a Matty legend.

I think if Mattel still had the rights to Magnum, we'd be getting him now. Magnum suffered from getting canceled at a time when Mattel had about no confidence in the Legend/Flashback line. With the new HOF line and FB heavy waves of Elites, Mattel is showing that they are starting to stretch their legs a bit.
If there was so little faith in him selling, put him one per every other case. The fact that he'd require no new tooling (besides the head) and practically no paint apps might help his case too.

I'd love to see figures of everyone who ever held the title. More golden age guys in general would be nice, but none of them are likely, even Buddy.

We could get Harley Race, Freddie Blassie and Gorilla Monsoon if we can get Bruno Sammartino. Bruno seems like a longshot figure to me.

Gorgeous George would be sick. Only as an elite with a gorgeous robe.

I would buy it all day long. I have every character by Mattel for one, but I would like a Championship lineage too.
We have a couple of Jakks only, which I don't mind.

Would definitely buy. The history of wrestling runs deep. The attitude era wasn't the only thing that ever happened to wrestling.

I'd buy this in a heartbeat. Just because we never saw Babe Ruth play, doesn't mean a baseball card of his wouldn't be wanted. I think if Mattel packed him in a 2-pack with someone that has a little more appeal to the new generation of wrestling fans, they could get this done. It would be great to have a complete WWE World Champions collection for sure.

Don't see this happening but we can always dream. I'd definitely get one if they ever did release it
