I don't think they should raise or lower the price. I don't know why people aren't subscribing, honestly. I think it's a great deal. For the cost of 2 regular PPV's (a years subscription), I get all PPV's, plus access to the enormous VOD library, plus all the exclusive WWE Network content, 24/7 on any device.
Honestly, I think it's a great deal and I would probably pay more for such a service if they WERE to raise prices....but at this point, I do not think that raising the price would be a good idea. If people aren't subbing at 9.99, then if they raise the price, you risk people who are subscribers canceling their membership.
PPV's were like $56 and Wrestlemania was like $70+ in HD....even if you watch NO VOD content, $9.99 for PPV's alone is a sweet deal. I think if you go to Hooters, Buffalo Wild Wings, or another sports bar that shows UFC or WWE PPV's that they make you lock in to spending more than $9.99 as a minimum as a cover charge anyway.
So really it's a mystery as to why the WWE Network isn't working out......I don't know what else people could want. I love it.

The WWE has done its best to entice more people to signup. It really is a mystery as to why people aren't keeping their subscriptions and who aren't signing up. The most recent Manny Pacquiao fight costed $69.99 in HD. Which is seven times more than the cost of the WWE Network. I am not going to spin my head as to why the network is in the shape that it is in.

Where is the "stay the course" option? Because that's really their only option imo. They committed to this thing. The fans aren't going to go back and start paying $50 for PPVs when they've been paying $10 and the PPV providers are pissed.
I still believe that WWE is ahead of the curve on this one. I know it hasn't been anywhere near as successful as they planned and they overshot their popularity, but, to me anyway, it was a longterm move that will be beneficial to their brand 15 years from now. They just need to keep plugging away at it. They went all-in with the network and I don't think there is any turning back now.
I think you have to look at the trends of how people watch TV and how that's slowly but surely moving to fully digital interface on stuff like AppleTV, PS4, XB1 or whatever, and you're going to clearly see how future generations want shows and content. Plus, TV in general is going to be forced to move to an a la carte format at some point imo. The more high speed internet infiltrates rural areas, the less need there is for traditional, and grossly over priced, tv. WWE is smart for presenting their product like a "Live Sports" form of entertainment because who really likes to watch a sports game after it's already happened? That creates the perception that you need to watch Raw on Monday, that you need to have the Network to see what happens right after the show goes off the air, and you need the Network to see the PPVs when they happen so you don't read about the return of Sting on Facebook, or see it on Raw the next night. It's a sound strategy.
