Why would a ex employee bother coming on here to answer questions. Someone who worked For hasbro on all these legendary lines would have Something from the job. No pay slip? No I'd card? Not one bit of paperwork from one of the greatest toy companies on the planet this is bull

Not one bit of paperwork from one of the greatest toy companies on the planet this is bull I'm not sure whether or not he's an actual former Hasbro employee, but is it that unreasonable that somebody who left a job almost 20 years ago would no longer have payslips from said job? Wouldn't ID cards be returned to the employer at the cessation of employment? Furthermore, why would somebody keep paperwork from a job they left -- once again -- almost 20 years ago? These figures weren't "legendary" in 1996. They were just, well... toys. Why would a former Hasbro employee come here to answer questions? Well, probably for the same reason that somebody would theoretically keep memorabilia of a job they left nearly two decades ago: nostalgia.

Hi
Thanks for the info so far. I think we have to take what he is saying as truth. He is not making any money so there is no reason to make this up.
Could you please give us some more information on the Men On A mission prototypes. What sort of body types/paint schemes/ action-moves they performed?
Thanks

We could ask other people who we know for a fact worked for Hasbro if they've ever heard of him. Joe do you have a linked-in profile? Who were you the assistant Product Design guy to? What other roles did you have at Hasbro, having been there 11 years?

I don't intend to throw any stones at JoQuan in particular. That said, we have all been down this road before. The "human" in me is a trusting person that really wants to believe him. The "poster" in me feels like I/we have been down this road many times before. As I said earlier, if he did have proof, it gives him near celebrity status here. If he doesn't have proof I'm probably still happy to play along as long as his reports seem accurate.
So, along those lines, here would be a few questions I had:
1. Why was the ring blue? The WWF never had a blue ring, always white. 2. Why did they never released a cage? Seems to me like that would've been a very high margin items considering how little goes into it.

Why did they stop releasing tag team sets?
You mentioned some figures who were in the pipeline, did they have planned bodies/actions or were they just head sculpts? Did their heads get completed or just molded and left unpainted or unfinished? What other "behind the scenes" things happened which never went anywhere?

Were there ever any plans for a Mantaur figure?

Why did they never released a cage? That's a good point. I always found it odd -- even at 8 -- that the WCW Galoob ring had the WWF-style cage and the WWF ring did not. And if I can throw yet another question at the OP, why weren't any other titles released? I would have loved an IC title. Actually, I just thought of something else: Did Hasbro make the foam belts, and they did, why did they look nothing like the real titles?

I'm sorry guys I am not on linked in and I do t have any proof! I wasn't expecting such hostility to be honest. Do you have any ID cards or payslips from 20 years ago? Like I said at the time I was a fan but I had no idea that the little things would develop such a following we never expected to halt production either which is why the orange and black cards where planned with head molds etc. Feel free to ask whoever you like if they remember me.

I actually have w2's from every job I've had from every year that I've filed. Most people do. You never know when you'll be audited. Also, if I were to glance at any photo album, I'd likely find a picture from a staff holiday party going back many years. Furthermore, with facebook, it's very easy to reconnect with former colleagues/friends who could corroborate your story. It's not so much that I wasn't buying your story, but I'm not buying your excuses for why you can't prove your story.

I have a question:
how was the flow of figure, from the first meetings which figures will be presented before the final release. Did you have a history ?
from 0 till final from a figure, for example andre the giant ?

I would imagine the new Undertaker head was a prototype for the red card series but in the last few sets, it seems Hasbro was cutting costs in doing some repaints. It wouldn't be like the Luger head (seen in the orange head picture) would be a recast mold for the orange cards, considering Luger had just been released in the red cards. And of course, Tornado wouldn't be getting a new figured/head mold.

Why don't we ever get anyone claiming to be a Charapro employee Because they don't speak English... Anyway, yes we did have frauds claiming to be Hasbro employee. I'm giving Joseph the benefit of the doubt. My question, mr. Quan, WHY did they give Giant Gonzales a moustache and didn't they just paint on the ring gear? This figure always seemed so wrong to me.For all the Columbo-wannabes on this board: you could always contact and ask the Hasbro legend R.R. (Columbo-wannabes know who I'm talking about!)!

I hope someone can find the previous thread (from maybe a year ago) by a former Hasbro employee. The wording and attention to details seems so similar to this thread. It was around the time of the Valentine proto and the "employee" cited a Honkytonk Man in red or black jumpsuit.

Not pure white, but the ring wasn't blue, the ring skirt is blue, but the mat I'd say is more off white/ grey/ whatever color that is

If you just google image search for example, Macho Man wrestling match, ultimate warrior wrestling match, most of the rings are blue
