Hey everybody,
Joseph here, I worked for Hasbro from 1985-96 up in Rhode Island, I was around when all the wwf figures hit the big time!. I was a big fan (and still am!) so happy to answer any questions you might have

Wow... Welcome dude. Who was your favourite wrestling figure to play with? Mine was bam bam Bigalow. Because his head tasted like a lollipop and if you bent his legs you could take a dump on the other wrestlers heads.

Can you confirm the Orange card lineup?
Any idea what happened to the Mega Maniacs Beefcake?

Can you actually confirm you worked for Hasbro? I mean, I can tell you that I walked on the moon.

Hello! And thanks for the questions. To those who have messaged me, I sadly don't have any rare stuff for sale but I can tell you that I was Assistant Product Design during my time at Hasbro. The orange card set was indeed planned and would of consisted of Undertaker, MOM, Jeff Jarrett, Diesel, Owen Hart & Lex Luger. We also had several other planned series's afterwards but sadly we lost the WWF license. There are prototypes of the MOM figures made but not the rest (as far as I know). I've recently been collecting then from eBay! I didn't save any (stupidly) from back in the day.
My favorite color is Green.

The Brutus Beefcake idea was dropped at request of WWF as he'd recently left the company I believe. It would have been a repainted version of the second Beefcake figure.

Could you share a little of your background and surname too? What other projects did you work on during this period? Thanks.

We also had several other planned series's afterwards but sadly we lost the WWF license. Would you be able to elaborate more on these planned sets? Who would be in the line? What type of action would they be performing? What attire they were to be in? What color would be on the blister card? Thank you

I'm still undecided on this thread
he's basically said lots of things we all know and that get regularly discussed here
But I do believe him that his favorite color is Green

I worked on numerous projects from Battle Beasts to Tonka Trucks, Transformers and others. It was a great time.
Regarding the beefcake figure, I remember there was panic as the set would have been too small, so we released a Tatanka with them, the trouble was it was exactly the same as the last one released so my team and I created and accessory head attire and tomahawk hammer to go along but it was rejected. The hammer would have sat in his hand and the mold would have been changed to include an access point for it.
The next set was either going to be black or grey card and the lineup was not final although several head molds were created. We (Hasbro) often made a good few for each line that never made the cut. My name is Joseph Quan

Hi Joseph,
One thing I have always wondered is in regards to Macho Man Randy Savage was it ever planned that his 2nd or 3rd figure (the one with Macho King and Macho Man on the back) were going to be wearing long pants like the figure that was with the Royal Rumble mini ring. I have always wondered this as every other figure in the Royal Rumble mini ring set has the same attire as their bigger figure counterpart. Why was a up to date Macho Man (not counting the entrance attire one) ever released?
Thanks and welcome to the board.

Thankyou for the welcome, yes there had been lots of plans from what I recall, the trouble was the work had already been done and the figure was ready to go so the long pants variant that you refer to never saw the light of day, I don't believe there was a proto made either sadly.

I think its very easy to come on here and talk about stuff everybody already knows I agree. Is there anyway you can post a picture of anything that would link you and the time frame up and confirm it? Then I think the better questions will start coming in.

My name is Joseph Quan Could you be more specific as to which wrestlers were in the lineups and which wrestlers had headmolds made? Whether they were final or changed or whatever, please give us all the names that were candidates With all due respect this is a dedicated collector community, whenever you say something was considered or cancelled, people will want to know all the specifics and details you can remember.

I'm afraid I don't have any pictures or anything to confirm anything! sorry. I wish I did, but at the time this to me was just a job, I never realized that years down the line people would be so into it and on forums and stuff (the internet didnt even exist like it does today!) I guess you're just going to have to take my word for it or not. I am happy to answer your questions though...
Things changed a lot...and I mean a LOT. We where quite behind WWF's tv so sometimes stars would leave wrestling or go to WCW etc so wed have to scrap EVERYTHING we did. The black cards where planned to be Kwang, Sparky Plugg, another Shawn Michaels (in the Macho Man number 2 Mold), another Bret Hart (in the Mr Perfect mold), Bob Backlund, another British Bulldog (in the Texas Tornado Mold). Plus other names got mentioned such as Well Dunn. None were made however. Please ask me specific questions about the lines as there is so much to talk about not sure where to start!
