A few years ago (mid noughties) I was asked to work backstage at some FWA and TNA shows in Coventry and got to meet loads of different guys. Only Samoa Joe was the one that didn't seem to want to communicate with anyone. But easily the best was Booker T. I watched Spain vs Sweden in the Euro's 2008 (soccer) with him backstage and he was getting right into it... the only thing that was weird was that all he was wearing was a small towel around his waist and nothing else. Kurt Angle had quite serious neck problems at the time but was polite and friendly too. Backstage at the FWA show I got to meet a younger CM Punk as well as Raven and Christopher Daniels who were all good guys. I once gave Steve Corino and also Too Cold Scorpio a lift to the airport and I had dinner with Mick Foley too - f**king brilliant bloke. Last year I met my all time hero Bret Hart in London who was just lovely. Got to hang out with him before his appearance in York Hall and afterwards (I was supposed to be there to help put up the lighting rig and so on...). He signed a bunch of stuff and was happy to talk about anything. Genuinely can't think of any bad experience with any of the wrestlers I've met.

I'd probably say Steiners(Rick-Harmony House '99, Scott-Gibraltar trade center '02) and Sting(Kmart '01) they didn't suck but they were all business. Also, technically LOD because I got lost and got to the TRU 5 minutes after they left, but they left behind some already signed "autograph wwf logo mats" so the experience sucked, but it wasn't their fault and they were thoughtful enough to leave extras.
Best were Kevin Nash(gibraltar trade center, mid 2000) and Owen Hart(autorama, february '99), I remember he was the first wrestler I'd ever met in person and was starstruck. I had him sign a collage of him I pasted together out of wwf magazine clippings and had it framed for years, I don't know where the heck it is now though.

I think I have told the Scott Hall story before about Wrestlemania Weekend, but this thread brings it back up.
It was Saturday afternoon and he was at the event directly across from where Axxess was being held.
He signed for, I believe 3 hours and there were a mixture of reports from people on both sides of the fence. Saying he was good and not so good with them.
He is getting ready to leave, this was mid afternoon to head to the Arena for the Hall of Fame. A person approached him who had not been inside the building for the event and Hall says "I just signed for 3 hours, where were you then?"
My opinion of Scott Hall really went down the tubes after that.

Well I wouldn't say this experience was so bad but I had Rikishi sign his elite 27 figure and I handed him a paint marker. Now before I handed him the marker , I've been shaking it while waiting in line, as soon as I handed him the marker , he attempt to sign with it and wouldn't write ..... He tried like 5 - 6 times as I was trying to tell him "don't worry about it, just use your marker" but he wouldn't give up. Eventually he did, and signed with his marker. You could still see his attempts behind the actual signature haha
The most welcoming at this event was Xpac.

The worst signing experience I ever had was with Shane Douglas. I asked him to sign a photo of him as Dean Douglas but he refused. I had met him once before with Torrie Wilson and he was more concerned with talking on his phone. He just has always come off as a total jerk to me. Everybody other wrestler I have ever met would sign anything you had for them to sign and were happy to do it. It seems like if your paying someone for their signature why would they refuse.

this. he single-handedly made my son never want to get a picture or autograph again. he was at a local PPW (Pennsylvania Premiere Wrestling) show in my town this past summer.my kid had him sign the Elite Series 25. he asked for it in silver,he signed it in black marker instead (and he had several markers there). my son told him how much he liked his character and wished he was still in WWE - no response. he just kept looking down. then the picture they took together was really epic as well: in the end,my kid was really put off by the way Brodus was acting, and decided the $30 I spent on the pic and auto would've been better spent on someone else. That my friends...is the look of defeat, The fans are every thing...dont blame the fans blame the company that gave you a crappy character.

He couldn't cut it as the monster heel so they tried the dancing gimmick which he sucked at, so they turned him heel again and he didn't even TRY to make that work. Either way that company that you think he should be "blaming " is the only reason that there are people waiting in lines to get autographs from him and meet him to begin with. I know if I had a line of people coming to meet ME and get MY autograph. I would be happy as hell. He seems like a miserable prick and always has.

I am a fan of them as wrestlers but I wouldnt wait in line or pay to get an autograph from anyone. I feel the same way. i mean. I get why people do it, but if you have to pay someone to sign a scrap of paper for you, then it doesn't really mean much, does it?

It may seem pointless, because it is but....I have seen a couple threads here recently where folks have dealt with some Grade-A douchebaggery when having their stuff signed. I thought it might be interesting to hear who some of your best and worst autograph experiences have been. I don't have any horror stories with wrestlers. I just had 2 very bizarre encounters. I met Honky Tonk Man a few years back, and he was cool but I'm 90% certain he was drunk because he signed my item TWICE. I still love it because it's like "2 autos for the price of 1". At the same signing, he lectured me about how I should never open my figures, I should keep them MOC so they can be signed. It was all in good humor, but it was in' weird. The other was at a signing where I was getting Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and Rikishi, when Barbarian asked me like 3 times to get his auto. I kept politely saying "No, thank you.", but he was super persistent. It was kinda sad this guy was practically begging me to buy a $10 auto. I felt bad for him, but didn't have anything to get signed and I was kinda skeeved out by his sad behavior. Had awesome experiences with Honky, Bushwacker Luke, Rikishi, Valentine, CM Punk, Flair, Jeff hardy, Robert Roode, AJ Styles, Jeff Jarret (twice), Mr. Anderson, Velvet Sky (who my 8 year old seems to have a crush on), Bob Backlund, and Cowboy Bob Orton. I haven't done any big signings yet, but I hope to this year. Hopefully, I am looking at collecting more good stories about the good guys in the business. I had Honky autograph his Jakks figure for me at a con, and he signed it three times. I think it's just his thing. The odd thing though is I went to shake his hand and he insisted on fist bumping instead because this was during the big pig swine epidemic lol. And good old Virgil was at the table next to him, and kept pestering me to get a photo with him and Honky. I had to keep saying no. I had to spread my money wisely that day and only chose an autograph from Honky. Looking back I wish I would've done the picture with Honky though cause he actually wore his entrance costume lol.

I've never been to an autograph signing, but I've met some wrestlers and most were cool. Xpac is by far the coolest and most down to earth I've ever met. I ended up hanging out with him at the gathering of the juggalos, and we had an awesome time partying and bsing all weekend. I also met terry funk who was super cool even while relentlessly trying to sell his tshirts. He is also probably the oldest person I've ever burned it down with. Sabu was super cool the first time I met him... We played beer pong and the he brought me to an afterparty with Justin credible, Zach gowen, human tornado and some other Indy guys. Those guys were all cool, as well as the king jerry lawyer and kid cash. Jeff Jarrett was suprisingly nice. The 2nd time I met Sabu he was wrecked and uncomfortable to be around. And dusty Rhodes was a hustler but not a bad guy

I think I've had mainly good experiences, but here's two good ones for you. First, during the Nitro games me and my buddy went to the strip club we heard they went to after the show. Henning, Hall, Jeff Jarrett, and even little Joe C from Kid Rock was there, as this was in Detroit. First I wanna say that in retrospect me and my buddy were losers to bug these guys instead of looking at strippers lol. Anyway, Joe C and Jeff were pretty cool. Not super personable but signed my magazine and said thanks. Then I had bought this thing at the show earlier that looks like a backstage laminate. I forgot I had it on, and apparently Henning thought I worked for the company. He kept asking me for like ten minutes what I did for the company. I was so confused lol. It eventually hit me and I told him I bought it at the souvenir stand, and then he signed my magazine. I was wearing an NWO hat and wanted Scott Hall to sign it. So the waitress brings me over to him. He was at the same table as Henning and this transpired at the same time. Hall was wasted...I mean wasted! He kept talking to the waitress and insist that I give her a good tip for him signing the hat. We felt bad and tried to leave the table but the waitress kept insisting we stay and kept talking to Scott. He eventually signed the hat. Good memories lol. Second one was meeting Kurt Angle at a TNA signing at a local bar. Kurt was really awesome. You got to sit with him and he took photo with you and chatted a bit. I told him I was at his Survivor Series debut and booed him and that I was sorry lol. He laughed and said I did my job. A couple hours later Kurt decided to hang around the bar and was three sheets to the wind. He was hanging out with everyone though and telling wrestling stories and said HBK was probably the best performer of all time. I asked about the Benoit incident, and said it was shocking, but he wasn't totally surprised. Said Chris had that don't with me attitude and could be temperamental. I got my TNA Kurt Angle DVD signed btw.

As for figures I've never had any bad experiences with the autographs I have on figures. I got Ted Dibiase Jr as a WWE show one day and the marker I had him used sucked so it doesn't show up to great though.
As for meeting people and I go to the fanfests and wait outside when WWE arrives in my town so I've met a lot. I'd have to say Scott Steiner isn't to nice to fans. I'm a big fan of his either way but on both occasion's that I met him he didn't seem happy to be there. Once at a Wrestlereunion show my dad and a cousin were just waiting on me and went in behind where Scott was and he got mad and made them move. Like he thought they were gonna jump him or something. The last time I met him at Mid-Atlantic Fanfest 2013 he showed up out of surprise which was awesome as I was able to get my pic with both Steiners but he still sat there like a grouch.
Virgil tries to charge a lot but if you make him a lowball offer he'll take it. I messed up when I first started getting autographed and paid $25 for his at a comic con. Yea that was dumb of me. He usually will throw out a big number and lower it as you walk away. Then the other 2 times I met him he was real nice and played around with my son.
I once met Scotty Riggs at a fanfest and he was about to get on an elevator and I stopped him and asked if I could get a picture with him. He was happy to do it but as the person was taking our pic my son looks at him and says "Daddy who's that". It was funny when you think about it but I was a little embarrassed as I was a fan of his but of course my 3 year old son (at the tiem) isn't going to know who he is.
I met Tommy Dreamer a few times. The last time was last year at Wrestlecade and he was at the bar with several others. My son was walking around and had Robert Gibson sign a photo that had a lot of the talent on it. He then took my son to a table where Tommy and several others were sitting and had them sign it for him. Tommy didn't seem happy to do it, however I read on his facebook the next day his dog had died while he was at the show so he may have been upset.
I met Primo at Mania Axxess in Atlanta in 2011. Tried to carry a conversation with him saying I'd just met Carlito a few hours earlier as Carlito was at the Wrestlereunion show. He didn't seem to care just signed my card and posed for the picture, like he was supposed to do.
Rosa was very friendly earlier this year at a Raw show. I went to get my photo so I picked up my son for the photo and she put her arm around me for the picture and pretty much squeezed us in close, lol.
Be careful if you meet Jimmy Valiant, the first fanfest I went to I got his autograph which was free to get at the show and he asked for my name and signed it to one of his book, pretty much leaving me no choice but to fork over the $35 he was charging for the book signed.
Goldust was with Cody at a Raw show just after he resigned and Cody basically had to make him come over and sign. I'm glad he did but you could tell he wasn't happy to sign stuff for free.
I once had a Flair figure to get signed at a show and when I went to Flair to sign it he said he wasn't allowed and the security guy said "Only stuff from the table" So basically you could only get the photo they had signed and nothing else. I had out my $25 bucks and Flair wanted to sign it but the promoter wouldn't let him. Very weird.
Guys like Kofi, Big E, RTruth, Natalya, are very nice and will always come greet fans before the show.

Never went to a autograph show or anything like that but had a nice experience with Paige before a live show. Came out and talked to everyone. Signed everything and took photos with everyone who was outside.

I want to say Mickie James was great to meet. Met her first time at a free photo op at Cold stone's ice cream. Me and my daughter took a picture with her and Evan Bourne. My daughter had brought a toy women's belt, and Mickie switched belts with her and let her hold the divas title. Second time was at comic con to get said photograph signed. She instantly recognized that it was from the Cold stone's. She again was very nice and treated my daughter great again. Class act that woman is.

I've met Matt Morgan at BFG 09 while waiting in line outside to get in with everybody. Very nice guy and he got my respect as fan when he took his time and took a photo with everybody in line and signed autographs.
I also met Christopher Daniels and Kaz accidentally when I went to SDCC for the first time ever. Both very nice guys especially Daniels. I didn't ask for an autograph or a photo though.
John Morrison was also nice and signed my Elite figure of him. I've seen him multiple times and he's always nice to his fans.
Non-wrestling, but I also met Jason David Frank at SDCC. As he was signing autographs at the Bandai booth I quickly went to go buy a Figuarts Green Ranger, but he was already leaving that's when I quickly asked him if I can get an autograph and he said in a minute. As I followed him one of the security starting to block me away, but JDF went over the guy and grabbed my figure and signed it, while the damn security guard was in between us. I was very happy and JDF earned my respect that day, cuz he showed me he really does care for his fans. I later gave the figure to my brother for his birthday since he was more of a fan of his.

Right? In his youshoot interview he says " we dont have rats, we have dudes wanting figures signed" How about be happy anyone would want your goofy looking figure. Both his elites are available at walmart still...warming HE, as in Brodus himself, may not have rats because let's face it, What rat wants to get with that big fat, greasy, double cheeseburger eating, coagulated gravy with a side of bacon, hot dog bun bastard?

I had a couple funny experiences with CM Punk at Ringside Fest.
- the first year I went, I had an extra autograph ticket. So I bought the exclusive Macho King to have each wrestler sign for my friend. First I have it Ryder. He was like "I love this! I gotta make sure to get one!" Then the lady at Daniel Bryan's table screwed up and never gave it to him to sign. Then I get to Punk. He holds it and looks for a second. Then he goes "Who signed this already?" So I was like "Zack Ryder. It's for my friend who couldn't make it." Punj goes "Oh and now I'M supposed to sign it I guess." I kinda took it as him joking around but I'm not totally sure.
- another time we were coming up in line. My brother was walking to the table as Punk happened to look at the monitor. At that moment, the Royal Rumble was on and he happened to be alone with Daniel Bryan. He started asking the crowd "When did I wrestle Daniel Bryan?" He kept yelling it louder and louder. Finally someone told him it was the Rumble and he goes "Oooo it was the Rumble. Ok." Then my brother walks up and Punk tells him "I am losing my f***ing mind."
