I am aware both the UK and Ireland have a lot of wrestling fans. The UK and Ireland have a lot of wrestling fans who already subscribe to the network. That's the trouble that WWE are facing with the international launch... It's so easy for fans around the world to subscribe to the US network, that there isn't a great number of interested fans worldwide who haven't already done so. i'll take your word for it. Nothing further.

The WWE needs to do some more things like this to get people hooked. Why not enter a deal with Microsoft or Sony and offer say a couple months free trial with each new PS4 or Xbox One.
Offer a Christmas package where for a good price say 70 bucks you get a little box that has a figure, shirt and a six month pass for WWE Network. This would be a great gift for kids and just WWE fans in general.

So subscriber retention is the real problem.

No doubt they will get more when its rolled out over here properly but I doubt it will be the substantial numbers they are looking for

Oh man, I've heard of growing pains, but this thing seems to be hurting more than helping right now. They are losing money correct?

This is slightly off-topic but for a man of nearly 70 years Vince looks really really good.

It's going to be the most money any wrestling company has ever lost in a year. Here are the WWE's annual figures for the years up to 2010, when they started spending on the network: Revenue first, then profit/loss in brackets. 1994-1995: $ 87,352,000 ($ 4,431,000 deficit) 1995-1996: $ 85,815,000 ($ 3,319,000 profit) 1996-1997: $ 81,863,000 ($ 6,505,000 deficit) 1997-1998: $ 126,231,000 ($ 8,446,000 profit) 1998-1999: $ 251,474,000 ($ 56,030,000 profit) 1999-2000: $ 373,100,000 ($ 68,973,000 profit) 2000-2001: $ 456,043,000 ($ 15,987,000 profit) 2001-2002: $ 409,622,000 ($ 42,233,000 profit) 2002-2003: $ 374,364,000 ($ 19,455,000 deficit) 2003-2004: $ 374,909,000 ($ 48,192,000 profit) 2004-2005: $ 366,431,000 ($ 39,147,000 profit) 2005-2006: $ 400,051,000 ($ 47,047,000 profit) 2006: $ 262,937,000 ($ 31,617,000 profit) 2007: $ 485,655,000 ($ 52,137,000 profit) 2008: $ 526,457,000 ($ 45,416,000 profit) 2009: $ 475,161,000 ($ 50,303,000 profit) 2010: $ 477,655,000 ($ 53,452,000 profit)

I know they'll be okay, but man, if WCW didn't even lose that much...

You'd think that would be when they were at their absolutely least profitable (apart from now).

I know they'll be okay, but man, if WCW didn't even lose that much... Turns out (from the conference call today) that because of the cost cutting, they aren't going to lose anywhere near as much money this year as 2000 WCW did now. So that's a positive!
