Really surprised to see Stings name at the top of that list as well. Even though people call him the "franchise" of WCW, he was always playing second fiddle to Flair in the early days and then Hogan in the latter. Pretty sure that includes TNA PPVs. If no one is watching it, is it really still a PPV?

Impressive run, especially considering the fact that most of them are good matches. However stale the character may be, and believe me, it's unbearably stale, the man delivers in big matches like no other. Almost all of his matches have been botchfests. He's one of the most forgettable main event workers the biz has ever seen. However, I must agree that his longevity is impressive. He doesn't work well, but I can't deny that he works hard.

Almost all of his matches have been botchfests. He's one of the most forgettable main event workers the biz has ever seen. I'm not a massive fan of John Cena's character being the same for so long, but what has been a constant throughout his whole career, is his ability to have good matches. He's definitely one of the best 5 wrestlers on the WWE main roster today and to say otherwise would just be ignorant.

That's an interesting thought since they aren't really botchfests. While some of his moves, mainly the STF, look sloppy, the guy delivers. In the big matches, he is the big performer. At Money in the Bank 2011, he was the MVP that night and the same goes for One Night Stand 2006. It's crazy to fathom just how many good main event matches he's had. There's Royal Rumble 2007 against Umaga, WrestleMania 22 against Triple H, Mania 23 vs. HBK, Vengeance '05 vs. Kurt Angle, Unforgiven '06 vs. Edge, and that's just off the top of my head this moment. The list is long, I mean, the guy even got a solid match from the Great Khali. Think about that for a second.

He may be a great worker but that doesn't take away from the fact that he's incredibly boring and is one of the least interesting main eventers of all time. The majority of his matches are complete snoozefests. Yeah, he's had some good matches but they are not the majority. I don't care how much of a hard worker he is, he still sucks and is boring as .

I don't "get" John Cena. He just seems like a guy who accomplished more than he deserved to.

I don't "get" John Cena. He just seems like a guy who accomplished more than he deserved to. Define what you think would qualify someone as deserving. Hard working? Check Company ambassador? Check Performs in big matches? Check Moves merchandise? Check Injury prone would be his only issue but the man recovers in inhuman time so he's never gone for long. That makes him dependable, which is another deserving quality. My only real issue with John Cena is that his character is uber stale.

I wouldn't even consider him injury prone, in the last 10 years all I can remember him being out were 3 times Sept 07-Jan 08 Sept 08- Nov 08 & right after Summerslam 13-HIAC 2013

He once whiffed on a simple elbow drop, and that's the kind of things I'll remember him for. He's had maybe 6-8 passable matches in his career, mostly due to someone like HBK or Punk carrying him.

I don't expect you and your blind hate for Cena to see it though. I used to hate Cena. Then I wised up. The character is stale as . The performer, while not the most crisp, is consistently good.

No one was shocked by that more than me since Batista is an even worse worker than Cena. I'm glad you have been personally entertained, but since RAW and Smackdown ratings show that WWE has lost about 1/2 of their viewership over the last 8-10 years, it's obvious that too many fans weren't buying the Cena-led era.

I'm personally entertained by Cena matches because they're good. I admit, the Cena character is boring, stale and bland. Also, blaming the ratings fall on John Cena is one of the most absurd things I've ever heard. Wrestling isn't as popular as it once was in general. It starting dying down before Cena became the man in 2005 and it continued. Wrestling is not accepted the way it was back in the late 90's. Ratings have dipped for a lot of reasons, blaming it on Cena is ridiculous.

The three of them combined have never been able to generate the kind of excitement that I saw this past WM from Daniel Bryan. Had WWE cut their losses back in '06 when it was obvious that the crowd didn't care about Cena, Batista, or Orton, perhaps the company wouldn't be in its current financial quagmire.

Yes, because cutting the top merchandise mover makes sense. The core demographic is kids now. Kids love John Cena. John Cena is everything the WWE could want in their top guy. Puts on good matchs. PHENOMENAL company ambassador, moves merch, durable, heals like a machine and hasn't left for greener pastures.

whenever cena is wrestling i think i'm watching a basketball game with his timing/style. it's just horrid. and the psychology in the majority of them is only a hint above hulk hogan's typical hulkamania era match.
delivers in big matches? only when he has a quality opponent who carries him to one. the classic thing people say about cena is "he just needs someone good to work with, and then he can have a great match." yeah...that's called being carried by someone better than you. and even then, he rarely holds his weight. his blandness carries over waaaay beyond just his character, and his matches haven't gotten better over the years notably.
