If it's a tight fitting top/sleeveless shirt, then the plastic ones are probably best. If it's an actual T-shirt though, I prefer the cloth ones. Basically, whatever looks best for the figure.

I suppose I'm in the minority ... I prefer the plastic shirts.
To me, the cloth shirts often look oversized and sloppy ... like the wrestler just rolled out of bed. The plastic shirts tend to be more form fitting and display better. It's strictly an issue of preference but given the choice I would take the plastic shirt every time.

I like the way Jakks made shirts where they were like actual shirts and not shirts with velcro, plus with Jakks they could put designs on the back (not sure if they ever took advantage of that) Unless they'd make the shirts out of the same stretchy material as Rock's sweatshirt I don't think they could make shirts with no velcro that would actually fit. I'm not too fond of cloth velcro shirts or plastic shirts imo.

Mostly I hate rubber shirts. Some look ok, but mostly they look too big and their not being poseable hurts a lot. When Mattel skips out on cloth and I want a shirt on a figure, I get a R's shirt.

Hate the rubber shirts, the ones that come with Billy Gunn and Road Dogg were especially bad.

agree cloth is better but the back looks hideous, i hate the looks of the velcro, and honestly no one wears a shirt that way in real life. the rubber is very nice but sometimes it looks like an armor on the guy. bottom line i will stick with rubber for play and cloth for display.
there is this guy on the bay that makes really good cloth shirts with no velcro, with a stretchy matterial, plus it has designs on the back so its really good. i asked him to make some new but he wont do it unless he has 10 requests for that shirt at least. he has many cm punks shirts and HHH and cenas, + he has ambroses hoodie so its really nice..
there are also sellers who make traditional velcro shirts for figures who didnt have shirts with their release but they wore it on tv. like randy's new blue shirt, and deans new tank top, rollins new shirt etc.. i gave up on mattel shirts

Cloth all the way. I totally hate the rubber ones, they look awful IMO.
Please, no more rubber coats for Edge and Taker.

The rubber sucks unless it's a cut shirt like Rey's /Ryback's. They are too bulky, and if there are sleeves you get no arm movement, so holding a belt on the shoulder or even wearing one around the waist aren't an option for display when the rubber shirts are involved. Cloth is much better when we can get it.

I like both, but I prefer cloth. The only cloth shirt I have is the E25 Sheamus one, and it leaves marks on the figure..

My main reasoning for asking was cause I got my new set of elites and the usos look terrible in the plastic shirts. The hair molding doesn't allow for the plastic shirts to rest properly on the figure. I agree with previous statements that the newer plastic shirts are better then the first ones but overall I'm not crazy about them.

Small request: Please stop calling them rubber. They are plastic.

I know I'll probably catch hell for this, but does no one remember how awful and ill-fitting the faux leather jackets look on the Jakks RSC exclusive Edge and Undertaker? They were basically leather muumuus. I'm a big fan of the plastic being used for the ornate robes and jackets for Elites like Taker, Edge, Jericho, and Regal because Mattel was able to put so much minute detail into them and look beautiful on display.
The only two plastic shirts with sleeves I have are Orton and BoPPV Miz. Either my dumb fingers can't figure out the pegs, or they weren't meant to stretch over torsos like theirs, because I've yet to clip one on completely, so in those cases, soft goods win out.
I quite like the sleeveless plastic shirts, however, because they appear to rest on the human body the way they really would. Mattel tried cloth with E1 Rey's shirt and the end result was pretty lackluster (and sometimes frustrating), so they've improved in that aspect.
Also, the newer peg design is kickass.

Off Topic, but is it pretty much a fact that E12 Orton's plastic shirt can't be put on? I swear it's impossible.

Cloth > No sides plastic > New clasp plastic > Sleeved plastic > Old clasp plastic
Sometimes the plastic shirts look way to big on figures like the DX one on Shawn Michaels.
