Hey guys, I'm attending a few autograph signings over the next month or so and I am planning on getting as many former champs as possible to sign my World Heavyweight Championship belt. The only issue I can think of is that there just isn't much room on the belt for signatures. I was planning on trying to collect signatures over the years but to be honest I would run out of room after 1 or 2 signings.
Any other autograph collectors out there run into this before? I've seen people get the plates signed but I don't really like that idea (esp since the big gold belt has such rigid plates). I've also seen people get the back of the belt signed, but then I don't know how I'd display it. Face down in a frame doesn't sound too appealing.
That being said, anyone out there have any better ideas? I'm open to any suggestions!

I'd get a silver Sharpie and get them to sign the leather.

I'd get a silver Sharpie and get them to sign the leather. Well that's what my original plan but there just isn't much room on the leather part. It would be full after just a few signatures.

There is no good answer to this. DO NOT get the plates signed though. Looks awful. When doing belts, I have my favorites sign the front and everyone else on the back.

When doing belts, I have my favorites sign the front and everyone else on the back. You are for sure going to run out of space eventually so you basically have to pick and choose who will get the best parts of the strap. The rest would have to go on the back so maybe you should figure out a way to display it so you can see the front and back (maybe a glass case or something?). Like CM said NEVER have anyone sign the damn plates of any belt! It looks horrid and imo is just stupid! Also I would for sure advise against wrestlers signing the spaces in between the plates on the belt. For the WHT it is really hard to do that but I've seen belts on eBay where the person has had a wrestler sign between the plates. Again I think it looks bad. Another tip I would say is to not have people who have never won the belt sign it. It is one thing to maybe predict that they will be a future champion for that title but why would anyone have a jobber or even a diva sign a WWE Spinner? Because that style of belt is already retired on tv I would refrain from having people who never held that version of the WWE Title sign it. So I would not really want Bret Hart to sign it even though he is a former WWE Champion. Same for HBK and Kurt Angle etc.

This is honestly the solution imo. I have a Winged Eagle and it's signed on the strap by HBK on one side and Nash/Diesel on the other. It's done. Unless I ever meet Flair, which I've saved a small spot for, then I'm just committed to having that be that. There is only so much space on them and I want to be able to display the piece with the autographs showing, which is why I won't use the back. The front of the belts just aren't conducive to multiple autographs and I would recommend narrowing down who you want to sign the belt if you do plan to display it. If you're going to keep it loose and just take it to events and show it to people and what not, then I could see moving to the back of the strap for autographs but that kind of thing isn't for me. You could always hang it by the belt clip pieces they sell on WWE Shop. It would essentially be free hanging from your wall at that point and if it was signed on the back you could just lift it up to show people I guess.

I'm actually going to look into a glass display case. That way I can use both sides.
I'm definitely not carrying it around (except to signings).
Oh and I'm definitely not having anyone sign the plates. That looks awful!

The front of my attitude belt is almost full, I'm thinking I'm just going to do the back. If you play it right you can get 6-8 signatures on the front

Signing on the snapbox is the best. Don't ever let them sign on the plates.

The only way for you to display both sides (if you gonna let both sides be signed) is hang it in the air in the middle of the room like a mobile. Unless u have an island in the middle of your room with it inside an acrylic or glass display so people can see both sides. There's no other way.
Some people like to get it signed both sides but i only got mine signed on the front. So it's max 4 autos per belt, maybe 5 if they are small autos which kinda defeats the purpose cos it'll be hard to see.
I only let people who won that particular version of the belt sign it. I know some people who let any wwe wrestler, including divas they met sign their WHC, etc.

I agree about having non champs sign a belt. It's always weird to see a Henry Godwin signature on a heavyweight belt!
