I am going to be buying a ticket to TLC this year since it is in town, but I have never been to a TV/PPV before, just house shows (and the last time was in the attitude era).
What should I expect? How early should I get there? Any tips for autographs? Is merch about the same as it is on the shop site?
Thanks!

Merchandise lines will be packed as soon as the doors open, I'd get what I want from WWE Shop a week or so before the show.

It's been over 10 years since the PPV I went to but the merch selections seem to be better than they are at TV shows and certainly better than house shows. You'll probably be able to find recently released stuff like Ziggler's new shirt, Rollins, Reigns and Ambrose's shirts and I imagine the new WWE Title replica will be sold there. I'd recommend getting there decently early if you want autographs especially since the wrestlers are supposed to show up earlier for PPV's than they are for other events. I couldn't help you in regards to how to easier get autographs as I've only got a picture with Daniel Bryan before a show and it was at an arena with no fenced off entrance to the arena. I'd expect long merch lines unless you do get there early and stand at the doors before they open.

How early do they usually let people into a show? I guess merch off the shop a week before will be the way to go then.

Well when I went to a show they were still doing Sunday Night Heat before the PPVs so I think doors opened like 2 hours before the actual ppv started. I'd say that would still be a decent benchmark, get there like 2 hours before showtime

get there early... at Summerslam a year ago I was there before the doors opened, took pictures of some of the wrestlers entering the arena... when I was able to enter the arena and with many people still in line to get in, ... the dark match started.

Be prepared to wait outside the arena for forever before the doors open. If your ticket says be here by ___pm, the doors will open roughly an hour later.

Dont listen to the guy above me.. That's not true. It's not a concert so it doesn't matter when people arrive since they all have assigned seats so there's no rush for people get the closest spot to the stage like there is at a concert. I've been for 2 of WWE's big 4 PPV's several times those being The Rumble at MSG 08 and SummerSlam in LA in 06,09,11 It didn't take long at all to get into the building. Every time I went, the line to get into the building was barely long, as long as you arrive at least 40 min or so before it says the doors open. The doors open at like 7 from past experience.
The lines for merch is always long like people have stated but if you go during like entrances or during a match you don't really care about then you won't have to wait long at all.
Hope you have a great show! Make sure you get the hell out of there once the bell rings on the last match or else you'll never get out of the parking lot or parking garage lol

Thanks for all of the advice everyone! I am pretty excited, I guess Cleveland has not had a PPV in like 8 years or something they said on the radio.

Hopefully you don't have to sit through a TLC match featuring guys who have no business in that style match (Orton and Cena) and you get a good one like ambrose vs rollins

I'm also excited for a PPV in Cleveland. I missed the chance of going to Survivor Series 2004 and Unforgiven 2008. This time, I'm going to make sure I'm going, even if I get a crappier seat than I'm used to.

If you want merchandise just walk the farthest you can in the arena. There is always a merch stand way off at the end of the arena that will hardly get picked over. Mainly because people don't bother walking around to see what they can find, they just go to the first merch stand they see.

Honestly, I have a better time when I get there at 5:30, enter the arena when doors open at 6:00, and go straight to my seat. Waiting outside for hours drains me and I already feel tired by the time the show starts.

You might want to hit a merch stand to see if they have a special shirt just for the PPV you are attending - that's a souvenir I always like to get, although I haven't been to a PPV (other than WrestleMania) in a while - so do they still make PPV T-shirts?
I'd recommend getting one, if they do - great souvenir!
I also find the merch at live events is sometimes cheaper than online - other things are the same..... you need to know your prices.....
How early to get there sort of depends on the venue - but they usually only start letting people in at 6 or 6:30...... so you don't really need to get there a whole lot earlier than that. Unless you plan to tailgate or something...

Went to Raw in Cleveland this past January and got in about an hour and 15 minutes before the show started. Plan on going to TLC as well.
