WWE STAR UNDERGOES NECK SURGERY By Mike Johnson on 2014-09-17 17:42:03
Santino Marella announced on his Facebook Page today that he had undergone successful surgery on his neck, hoping to pave the way to an in-ring WWE comeback. Marella wrote, "Surgery went well. There were some unexpected broken bones in my neck apparently, but everything is looking good now. Let the legendary comeback begin!"
Marella announced he was retiring during a promo on a house show in his hometown of Toronto last July, although WWE has never once referred to him as retired as an active competitor.
The former Intercontinental champion noted it would be six months before he would be able to perform.

If he did retire WWE would make an official announcement about it on WWE.com and then he would be added in the Alumni section

Im very glad for him that he will hopefully be able to continue doing what he loves and won't have any serious neck issues in the future.
That being said I haven't found his character or wrestling ability entertaining since about 2008, so I was hoping on that front that he was retiring.

I was genuinely gutted that he said he was retiring then I read something claiming that he was gonna make a comeback, I thought it too good to be true but I guess this confirms it.

Who cares lol, he's never really done anything of worth. I'm glad he's healthy but I really hope he stays retired.

What's WWE gonna do when he does come back? Make him the man under the bunny suit?

No offense to the guy (I hope he recovers soon and wish no ill will on him) I'm good if he never gets back in the ring. He had his moments as comedic relief, but I never really enjoyed him once he stopped being a "serious" character.

Great news, hopefully he'll be back. And not just having rematches with Fandango for six months. Excellent performer, best comedy wrestler of all the times and a great underdog babyface. WWE needs more of him, especially with Adam Rose flopping.

Great that he is trying to make a comeback but I wouldn't do it. I like Santino as a wrestler and entertainer but it's not worth it. If they told him he was going to get a big push maybe a long title run he should do it, but if he is just going to job and team with someone to just get on TV it's a bad career move. I don't want him to comeback do what he was doing just to get hurt and not be able to have an active life. You never mess around with neck injuries.

Oh, gosh, as if Emma hasn't been buried enough as it is, please don't put her back with Santino...
