It's sad to see so many people (including this country) say "it's just a flag" or "it's just a piece of cloth" apparently with little care of our armed forces and those that died fighting for the freedom to, I don't know, post whatever they want on a forum.
While I agree that one can go to far, and this was a simple accident that doesn't warrant the backlash it's receiving (it is entertainment after all) I would like to see some of you take the flag in front of an army veteran and drop in on the ground in front of them saying "it's just a flag".

Yo, the flag touching the ground is a huge disrespect to the flag and the people that serve it.
Granted, this is a huge overreaction and pretty stupid to go crazy about, but the point about the flag and rather extreme ignorance being said in here still stands.

Hahahahahahahahaha Yeah. Today's generation totally could NOT handle the Attitude Era. ing hypocrites. Seriously though does this flag garbage not boggle anyone else's mind? It's a piece of cloth. Sure it "represents " something. But at the end of the day it's a piece of ing cloth. Material item It's like saying "oh you threw my favorite TShirt on the ground you man" THAT WAS MY FAVORITE POLO BRO!

Exactly. This forum is becoming awful.

As an American who served in the military as a Marine with two combat tours I usually have a slight problem when it comes to crap with our flag. The whole wearing the flag as an article of clothing or using it for anything other than its purpose as a national color irks me all the wrong ways. But this whole flag on the floor thing shouldn't receive this much backlash. It was clearly a mistake on a live broadcast. It's not like it was a HBK moment where he humps it or blows his nose with it.
For christ's sake lil Wayne danced on it in a music video and nobody said Jack crap.

I'm quite the patriot, and sure the flag on the ground bothers me, but its far from a big deal.

It wasn't intentional, Swagger dropped it after Rusev hit him. JBL sounded legit pissed when it hit the ground though.

Material item It's like saying "oh you threw my favorite TShirt on the ground you man" People have died for "That piece of cloth". There are a lot of disrespectful people here, that come off as very uneducated with our country's rules toward the flag, and it's meaning. However.... It would never happen, but, I would love to see the reaction from the crowd if Rusev were allowed to throw the flag. It is storylines, so, you can't get to upset over it. Flags have been damaged or burned in American films, so...

I'm not going to pick sides but I know as a Canadian I even found it to be a touch disrespectful but that's just because I feel like the flag of a nation is the biggest symbol of national pride that shouldn't necessarily be used as a prop in a wrestling match to begin with

There is an overwhelming presence of sheer ignorance in this thread. THANK YOU! It's embarrassing just how stupid most of these posts are. It's like a bunch of bratty kids that don't know any better because every adult they've ever known has failed them.

Really guys? It's just a flag? It's just cloth? It's WAY more than that, I just wish you guys could see that, now, I did notice the flag touched the ground, though I realize it was not intentional and it was just an accident.
