Entering his apartment in downtown Toronto, Demento throws his keys onto the counter as he leans onto said counter. The rush to his head continued, as if a loud orchestra played over and over again with extra emphasis on the symbols.
With the decent sized headache now forming, Dave waltzes his way over to the fridge to pull out a beer. He pops off the top and takes a drink. Observing the apartment, not one thing had changed since the last time he's been here in two weeks.
The apartment was empty, and only big Dave had occupied it. No kids, no pets and no wife. He was all alone, but it bothered him. Wrestling had consumed him, taking him out and leading him to heartbreak.
And then there was another buzz in his head. This one was bigger though and he couldn't control it. This loud buzz ringing from ear to ear. Enough force to make him clench his fists and squint his eyes.
Another swig of beer seemed to control the situation as he headed over to the couch and lounged down. With his shirt now off, Demento turned on the television. It was his only companion in the apartment, and it was flipped instantly to the taped WFWF show.
More beer drowned itself down his throat as he forwarded the taping to his match with Josh Dean...
Until the moment where Phillip Schneider popped out from the ring apron and blasted Demento with the chair to the head.
The crunch of the steel bouncing off his head forced him to cringe every single time. Just one chair shot. One chair shot on repeat.
Continuously.
With each replaying of said chair shot, Demento clinched from a sudden rush of pain shooting to his head.
The painful impact of each shot taking its toll. The bottle of beer had now been emptied as Demento still lounged on the couch, now curled up with his hair hanging over the ledge.
The image of the chair shot on continuous replay in the background as things started to get fuzzy. All of the surroundings blurred, as the buzzing continued to increase in volume. Blowing in his eardrum, bringing him to the floor: limp and motionless.

"I remember giving Josh all I got and then the next thing I know I'm back here in the trainer's room.." Demento said rubbing his head, revealing a huge welt on his noggin.
"Dammit Dave, its been a good ten minutes since you've been in here. And around five more since you were hit."
"Spike again?"
"Actually no..."
"Go on."
"Well," Randel started giving Dave an ice pack for his head, "You and Josh were tearing the house down. The crowd was going wild and both of you showcasing your skills.."
"Randel, I'm tired and my head is killing me. Just get to the point.."
Benjamin tossed a wet towel to his buddy, "You became prone in the ropes and Schneider popped up and absolutely decked you with a chair.."
Demento shook his head, continuing to rub the ice onto the wound. He's spent years getting blundered with weapons around the world. He became used to pain of chair shots and the such. But since his incident with one Solomon Crow, Demento's head hasn't been the same and it's become much more prone to injury.
During that whole saga, Demento realized that he was human.
"Your eyes are bloodshot, bud." Benjamin quipped in, as he started to unwrap Dave's wrist tape. "You might need to get this checked out."
"Come on Randel, you know just as much as I do that I can handle this."
"I heard there was an emergency in the trainer's room," a soft voice quipped into the room.
"Not any kind of emergency. I'm fine," Demento brought his head up, continuing to ice it.
"Ah, miss Lila. You see what happened?"
"You don't think I watch my own show, Randel?"
"Well, technically, you aren't right now.."
Lila rolled her eyes and bit her tongue, "You sure you're fine Dave? I can postpone your match with Bishop.."
Demento flipped his hair back, "Keep my match with Williams in play."
Randel raised his eyebrows, "That didn't make sense. You’re facing Bishop. J-O-E B-I-S-H-O-P. You sure you're alright?"
"What didn't make sense?", questioned Dave.
"Dave, I know you want to help me fight off the Final Revolution, but your health is my main concern."
"Lila, I'm fi~....", Dave's speech slurs as he crumbles over and falls off the trainer's bed. Hitting the ground with a thud, Demento lies motionless on the ground. His eyes shut and his body limp.

Randel keeps his eyes glued to the dictionary as he repositions his glasses. Flipping the pages, he places his finger on a new definition, with a grin forming on his face.
“STU-PID-I-TY: noun, “a stupid idea or action,” says Randel as he looks over to his friend, “It’ll be stupid for you to continue, Dave. You are in no state to compete.”
“YOU are telling me that I’m in no shape to compete? You of all people. The man who was once thrown into twenty five individual panes of glass in one single night. The same man who took a barbed wire baseball bat to the stomach a whopping thirty times in a row. You practically killed yourself..”
“Look Dave, I don’t want you to end up like me when you retire from the business..”
Dave sits back up quickly but is met instantly with his eyes blurred, a ringing in his ears and dizziness. Forcing him to latch onto the edge of the seat in a rush before he falls over from his seated position and onto the floor.
“That’s what I mean Dave,” announced Randel as he latches onto his buddy’s flailing arm, “You can’t even get up without almost falling to your doom on the floor.”
“You keep your floor clean, nothing for me to worry about.” Dave chuckles before pulling his arm away from Benjamin, “And besides, I am fine.”
“You’re in denial Dave.”
“Why do you love pro wrestling?”
Randel looks towards Demento as he cocks an eyebrow, “Don’t try to change the subject..”
“Why do you love professional wrestling?”
“Umm…” Randel starts, still bewildered by Dave’s sudden change of the conversation, ”It gives a place for people from all walks of the earth to come forward and showcase their skills. Without it, I wouldn’t be here today. Pro wrestling saved my life. Anyways, what are you getting at?”
Dave turns his head towards his mentor, with a very stern look, “And if The Final Revolution take over, pro wrestling as a whole will die. And as long as I got a shot at ended them, before they destroy what I love so much, my head will be fine. My body will be fine. And Randel, I will be fine.”

"Dave, you need to get to a hospital." Josh said as he walks beside Dave Demento in the local establishment's parking lot.
"It's just a bump, man. I've had many bruises like this before, you don't need to worry." Demento said as he clenched his fists from the throbbing headache.
"Yeah, about that. A bump doesn't cause you to puke twice in the hall trashcan," Josh reminds him, knowing that events of the last half hour are still fuzzy to Dave. "You struggled to get your damn food down, and you still have puke in your hair."
"It was probably those beers you and Nikki gave me the other day," replied big Dave, "Wasn't exactly Canadian, like I'm used to."
"There was nothing wrong with those beers, but there's something literally wrong with your head."
"Josh, trust me, I'm fine.." Dave started, but turned away to vomit some more, leaving a puddle of chunks in the middle of the parking lot.
"Yeah," Josh said as he sees Nikki standing by their SUV. "Let's just see what she says about it."
The two men slowly head over to Nikki, who had a very concerned look on her face, "Dave, look you may want to play the strong man and ignore what your body is telling you. But, I promise if you don't get in the car right now I will hog tie you. And you know I will! You're seriously hurt."
Dave drops his head down, while picking at his hair throwing out some chunks of the leftover vomit, "You won't give me a pass?"
Nikki sternly looks at him, prompting Demento to look at Josh, and then back to the ground, "Just let me grab something out of my car,"
Demento walks on over to his car, and opens the door. The bright lights come on, and they immediately take effect on big Dave's brain. The lights swirling in his face, his eyesight becoming blurry as a loud buzzing develops in the small space of the car. And in one swift second, he is gone. His body crumbles as his head smashes on the steering wheel, forcing the horn to blare consistently.
"Oh sh*t, Dave!" Josh shouts as he runs over to the driver's side of the car and tries with no success to wake his friend. "Come on Dave, wake up!"
Josh looks at Nikki as he grabs Demento's keys and cell phone. "Call Penny and Randel, and tell them to meet us at the hospital."

Pulling up to the hospital, David wanted no part in being here. The last time he had found himself in one, he had stayed there for weeks on end. It wasn’t his choice that last time, for the attack by the one Solomon Crow. That last time, Demento had been brutalized to a bloody pulp, the attackers wanted nothing but to pulverize him to send a message to the powers that be. Incidentally, it was much like the brutal attack on our hero by the hands of The Final Revolution at the WFWF Twisted event.
Demento didn’t like hospitals at all. The long wait lines, the annoying whiny children and their annoying whiny parents, along with the same news programming on repeat over and over again. Plus hospital food is never the solution to end hunger. But David was forced to come to the health center by Dean family. Nikki and Joshua wanted what is best for Demento, and obviously chronic vomiting, headaches among other symptoms is not what’s best for business.
“You want us to come in with you?” asked Nikki as she looked at Demento slouched up in the back seat due to the size of the van.
“No, I’m fine. Trust me, I’m fine.” replied Demento, opening the van door before hopping out. “Thanks for the ride, by the way.”
Demento waved them off as he walked over to the doors, which had slid open. Letting out a huge sigh as he stepped foot on the floors of the medical center, and then a sudden rush of pain shot down his spine as the whole room became a fuzzy glare. All of the surroundings disappeared as Demento felt the large gusts of wind flowing across his face, slapping him with agony. And then it all faded to black.

Draped in her hoodie, with her long hair flowing, Penny Shannon lounged back in the chair, twiddling her thumbs to her own amusement.
“I thought you were dead for a second there, bud.” proclaimed Penny as she finally notices the big guy awake from his slumber, “I mean, we wouldn’t want that, but it’s a possibility.”
“Where am I? Why are you here?” said Demento in a very groggy manner.
“Umm, dude. You’re in a hospital bed, and why am I not here?” Penny shot back, sticking out her tongue, “I mean, Josh and Nikki had to go pick their kid up from somewhere. I forget. Anyways, how ya feeling?”
Dave looked at her with a grin, “I’ve had my better days, but I’m fine.”
“You don’t look fine. I think I saw Slanted like this one day, but he was on a bender for a while. So yeah? You’re not on a bender, are ya?”

“Ummm, no…” Penny quipped back, but as soon as she finished, a bald head in very outdated scrubs opened the door and walked into the room, interrupting the discussion between the two.
"Well, David. I've got some good news and I've got some bad news for ya," announced the doctor with clipboard in hand, "Now, this is the part where I'd ask you what one you'd want first."
"Get the good news first dude..." Penny shot in, "I got some stuff that'd make you feel better for the bad sh*t."
"Excuse me, but you are?"
"Penny F'N Shannon.. Rocking the world since '91! Capturing hearts since '92!"
"And your relation to mister James here is?"
"Wait, who's mister James?" Penny questioned.
"Penny, you didn't really think my name was Demento did you?" big Dave chimed in, resting back on the hospital bed.
"You'd be a lot cooler if it were!" Penny stuck her tongue out and gave out a laugh before lounging back in the chair.
"Well mister James, the good news is that you will have a very nice vacation in the coming months..." the doctor started.
"And the bad news?" Asked a worried Demento.
"Well, you've suffered some forced trauma to your head. As the lead doctor for the WFWF, I've told many of your comrades the same news..."
"Get to the point, doc."
"To cut things short, you have a very serious concussion. And I'm very sorry to inform you that you won't be able to..."
"Don't you tell me I can't compete!" shouted big Dave, startling the doctor.
"David, its for your own well being..."
"Don't stir the pot Doc." quipped Penny as she cocked an eyebrow and walked over to Dave.
"David, I don't want to see you risking your life over this. This is a very serious injury."
"And having a power hungry monster control the company that I love is a risk." pointed out Demento, with vile hatred "If I don't step into that ring, you will lose your job doc, I will lose my job and my friend Penny over there will lose her job. If we don't put in a war against them, everything that we love will be taken away from us."
"David, I'm sorry. But I can't let you step into that ring."
"Good luck finding a job doc, you ain't getting any younger!" shouted Demento as he stood himself up from the bed and pushed the door open as he made a beeline out of the hospital.
"Dave. Dave! DAVE!!!!" Penny shouted, getting the madman's attention.
"What?"
"I've got some herb if it'll calm you down..."

Walking up to the doors, Dave observed the beautiful scenery of Los Angeles surrounding the WFWF Headquarters. However, as he has his eyes fixated on the beautiful babes in the busy city, but the pounding in his head had continued. The heavy buzz circle his head, losing focus in his eyes as everything had become a blur. He had known this feeling all too well during the past two weeks, where the natural instinct to latch onto the side of the building had developed.
Demento leaned for a few minutes as his eyes begun to unblur and give him sight once again. The cause for this? The beaming hot sun up in the sky flashing it’s brightness in big Dave’s eyes, forcing his head to spin and the concussion did not help matters. Now pulling out a pair of sunglasses from his pocket, Dave had entered the WFWF Headquarters, where a familiar face had been standing and watching.
“Hello,” said Lila Sleater, in her business suit as she extends her hand to Dave, “Everything alright?”
In the back of his mind, Demento knew that Lila had just watched him almost lose consciousness in public. If he had done so, a lot of bad publicity would come out of it. He wants to hide his weakness for the love that he has for this sport, something he wished Lila would understand.
“Yeah, yeah. I’m fine.” replied Dave, now placing his sunglasses on his shirt, “Just was observing the sky.”
Lila cocked an eyebrow and she could see right through the blatant lie, “David, you were facing the ground. Want to change up your story?”
“Well sh*t.” said Demento with a grin, “You’re smarter than Pierce.”
“Of course I am.” shot Lila, who had now walked with Dave to an elevator, “You know why I called you here?”
“You wanted to talk about the Garden show.”
“Yes I did, but I also wanted to talk about something else..” replied Sleater as she and her employer had stepped off the elevator and had now found their way to her office. A nice view of downtown Los Angeles included, Lila had the poster for the upcoming PPV displayed on the wall.
“Nice poster, give that guy a raise.” quipped Demento with a very hearty laugh, “So.. What did you want?”
“Well David,” started Lila as she looked out of the window, “You see what I see when I look out this window?”
“Los Angeles?”
“More than that. I see the land of opportunity, and I’m not just speaking of this city. I’m talking about the world. There are millions of our fans that tune in to each show, that will pay high prices to come to our shows and see their favorite wrestlers. There is opportunity to inspire the next breed of pro wrestlers who will come in and inspire the generation after yours. This is an out for those who don’t have many chances...”
Demento stood beside her looking out the window, but the beaming rays had once again affected him. The usual symptoms had come back, with blurred vision and pounding in his cranium. Although this time, his hearing had become low. For Demento could only hear every third word from his boss. Gripping away at the windowsill, Dave had fought through the pain this time, forcing himself to refocus and understand what was being said.
“What in the hell has you thinking that I will let you walk into a steel cage?” expressed Lila as she had now turned her attention to Dave, “You have a very serious concussion, Dave. Do you understand that? You can be killed in that ring.”
“Look,” started Demento, “I’m fine. A little pain here and there won’t hurt me. I’ve been hurt before, I’ve gotten through it. It’s who I am. When I used to play football, I tore my meniscus, but I fought through it and finished the season with five games left. Back in Japan, I broke my orbital bone on the first day of the twelve day tournament. I can fight through this roadblock.”
“Why? Why are you doing this? Why Dave?” questioned Lila, who had now sat down in her desk chair with a concerned look on her face as she reexamined the doctor’s folder regarding Demento’s concussion.
“Why do I do this? Lila, I am doing this for you. I am doing this for the veterans like Randel. I’m doing this for my friends in this business. Most importantly, I’m doing this for all of those people who look up to us. Our fans, Lila. And all of those guys won’t have anything if I let The Final Revolution take over. You can’t take them on all by yourself. I am here because I believe in you as a General Manager, and I believe in you as a person.” Demento calmed down, before gazing right into Lila’s eyes, “Will you let me compete at the Garden?”
Lila looked away from Demento’s charming stare, back down to the folder from the doctor. “You really want this?”
“Yes.”
“And you won’t sue the company if you get worse?”
“Would never think of it.”
“Then Dave, you still got your match at the Garden.”
Dave was now filled with joy as he shook the hand of his boss before grabbing his stuff from the desk and heading for the office door, but before leaving he stopped, “I won’t let you down; together we will destroy The Final Revolution.”

Heading back into his apartment, Dave Demento clutched his head from the dull headache constantly pressuring his mind, and he opened the door. Only to find a man sitting on his living room couch.
Sitting down in a white wifebeater and denim jeans, he rose to his feet with a smile as he extended his hand to the speechless. Standing in front of him was the man who had humanized him, the one who had thrown him to the dead.
Standing in front of him with a cigarette in his mouth was one Solomon Crow. Not the Solomon Crow who had taken the International Championship from Demento, but more so the Solomon Crow that he himself had been left for dead by The Final Revolution.
"Ehh, looking good Dave." started Solomon, who he himself had been suffering from injuries from the hands of professional wrestling.
Demento just stood there frozen as if he had seen a ghost standing in flesh in his living room. "You're... I thought... But you're..."
"In a coma?" shot back Solomon Crow, now heading back to the couch, lounging himself and taking a drag on his chance stick. "You wanna know something about concussions? You tend to think up situations and then hallucinate them. It only happens to the worst cases. But you wanna know something Dave? Your mind is a machine."
Solomon threw off his shoes and brought up the cigarette up to his mouth once more, "And what happened with The Nest, wasn't your fault. I just wanted your title, you weren't ready. But since that night when Trace and Bishop knocked me over the head in a cage, something grew in me.
A heart.
And now, with all of my heart, I hope to god that you kick Joe Bishop's ass all over the cage. Clean the cage with his blood. Break his neck, dislocated his jaw. Do whatever you can to finish him off. Because you are ready now David. You can carry yourself with pride as you hold the International champion. You needed to be shown the real world, and that had come by The Nest."
Demento was still standing there observing his former master, but as he did, a very high pitch sound formed in his head as his body had become groggy from the concussion symptoms.
"I believe that you will get through this and will not die." finished Solomon as his body quickly vanished into the wind, leaving Dave Demento in the state in which he started: all alone.

Revelation, a group formed in 2009, consisted of High Horror, Aaron Ashton, Ace Bennett, along with Jon O'Deeves. They promised change, but in the end they fizzled out and the group as a whole is worthless. Nothing to see anymore, just a relic of a revolution gone wrong.
The New Epoch, a group formed in 2011, consisted of Michael Kyzer, Drakz, and David Brennan. A very successful and feared group that dominated the federation, raised hell among their peers, and they wanted to rebuild the WFWF in their own vision. Ultimately, they destroyed each other, two leaving the fed and one of them forced into the hospital with a broken back from his fellow stablemate. With only a hall of fame induction to their name, they are nothing anymore.
The Nest, formed in 2013, consisted of Solomon Crow and his followers. Among the followers were Joe Bishop and Dave Demento. Irony. Solomon Crow was in it for himself, disbanding the group before attempting suicide on a live broadcast of Revolution. No group no more, and they amount to nothing.
The Decaying Society, often compared to the Manson Family, was a group formed around Phillip Schneider's record making WFWF World Champion reign. Ensuring that Schneider kept the title, the group silently fell apart following Philip's loss of the championship. Where are they now? Nowhere to be seen, or heard of.
And now our latest stable of the month is the "fixers" called The Final Revolution. A group featuring Jason Anders, Trace Demon, and, my former stablemate, Joe Bishop. Where are they right now? Well, they aren't dead... yet. Not until I'm finished with them. Then they will just go down as another failed group. Trace Demon is a power hungry, money loving, arrogant piece of pure sh*t. And there are a lot of people who can attest to that.
Jason Anders is just being used for legal stuff along with attempting to help in the fighting of the group's enemies. Problem is, he won't be able to lift a finger towards me, before I spear the holy hell out of his fat ass. A piece of scum working for a piece of scum.
And then we have Joe Bishop, the revolutionary. He's a former three time National champion and the current International champion for a reason. Give the devil his due, he is a very talented wrestler. He can stretch you into a knot, make you bleed your own blood, and he is able to attack you from the air. Well rounded, a technical master and one of the smartest flyers in the company.
But Joe Bishop is a lost puppy in the dog park.
He latches onto the big dogs, in hope that he can be secure and become one of the best. We both were like that, wandering into the spells of the most charismatic superstars. Both of us with Solomon Crow, the maniacal maestro of madness.
I broke out of the spell, and won the International championship, becoming stronger than the weaker links. Stronger than guys like Joe Bishop. That is why I was beaten up and thrown out of the cult. And guys like Joe stayed in to the end because they are weak. They needed somebody to depend on.
They aren't strong enough.
Speaking of strong, do you know what's really strong? The way Lila Sleater runs ship here in the WFWF. She came in when the federation was in shambles. Trace Demon had won control, he won the war against Xavier Pierce. And then he put his yes man in charge. Jason Anders was general manager, and he made some questionable decisions. Thankfully, the board of directors had given Lila the seat of power.
And that's what led to me being here today. I was very pro-Demon during the civil war of the WFWF. I bought into what he was promising, and I became Trace Damon's bitch. Or as Dex would say it, bitch boy. Whoever he needed to be softened up, Randel Benjamin and I were placed into that ring. We did his dirty work for him, something Joe Bishop is doing today.
That was until I got into the whole Crow campyness, and then was taking out. Now at that time, Demon was in firm control of ownership of the fed. He's made a killing for himself money wise, but as I laid in the hospital from the attack, I had to pay everything out of my pocket and I was released from the WFWF a few days after the attack. Trace had no need for me anymore. I was just a spoke on his wheel.
The day that I was released, I vowed that I would not be done over by anybody in this sport again. Dave Demento will stand up for what's right, something that I haven't always done during my youth. Being trapped in a hospital bed for a good amount of time really makes you question your decisions in life. Here I was, a star on the rise brushed away like nothing.
I made myself a promise to eventually get back into that ring and to make a change. And that's where Lila Sleater had stepped in and she needed somebody to fight the battle for her. She is a tough woman, but she wouldn't be able to step into the ring with the behemoths of the wrestling industry. She needed me, and I needed her. The Final Revolution posed a threat on her promotion, and I was signed to lead the battle against them.
I like Lila, she is a beautiful and smart woman who isn't afraid to do what's right, even if it means she could get hurt. She's a great boss, y'know. I will protect her with my life.
And that's just what I might do. The website confirmed it, and I'll confirm it right now. I do have a very serious concussion from the violent chair shot from Phillip Schneider. The loss of consciousness, the vomiting, the headaches, the whole nine yards. Of course, this injury will put a huge target on my head. It's a handicap and Bishop would be an idiot not to exploit it. Go ahead Bish, hit me as hard as you can, I can take it.
Bishop, you're younger than me and you're faster than me. I'll give you that. But you don't have what I have. And that's a heart.
You used to have it. The same drive to showcase what you got. You used to be one of the guys like me, the rising stars ready to make an impact. And that's where we draw the line. You've sold your soul to the Demon. You don't have that drive anymore. You used to always vow to best Trace and prove that you are better than him. I believe you are, well the old you is.
This whole attitude change is going to kill you. Trace Demon will use you until he won't need his Bishop anymore and he will leave you out for dead. Trust me, I've been there. I want to see the old you, the same guy who held the National championship more than any other man in this company.
Prove to me that you still have that passion, that fire, that drive in you Joe. Do it for me, do it for this hard paying fans, but most importantly Joe, do it for yourself.
And about my concussion, there was a story awhile ago about it killing this human who worked through it. It won't kill me though, because as I'm fueled by my fans, I am a machine. I will not die.

I do see you coming back to the title picture, but this match in particular is going to be a close one. You managed to put out a strong monologue towards the end there, so it should be interesting comparing the two, as monologues are what Bishop does best. Good step forward man.
