I was sifting thru my friends garage and I found these unopened LJNs but they seem different. They are all on Black cards. One of them is this guy with tattoos on his head, I thin his name is Lam Lam and the other us a lady in a purple skirt. BTW it's su f**ckin hard to post pics on here you'll have to take my word for it.

Show us pics. Show us pics. If this is indeed true the flea market would be the last place I would take these.

Tugboat wasn't entirely genuine in my opinion. Nowhere near the quality of any other 2 Up item I've personally seen. At best a modified Typhoon. I'm not sure if 2 Up's exist for each figure, but head sculpts do - wax master, hard copies and painted hard copy.

Love how the guy found the rarest figures even more rare 2 ups lol. He was smart enough to use google, find the forum, register 20 hrs ago, find the right category but yet in this day and age had no facebook, instagram, twitter, photobucket or anyway to get a picture online??? Really dude....you must have a pretty boring life to have to make stuff up.

On topic, I do hope they are real, we'll soon see i guess

This thread will explode if that Beefcake 2Up actually exists. That being said this is very strange.

I'm not sure if 2 Up's exist for each figure, but head sculpts do - wax master, hard copies and painted hard copy. I guess I'd be suspect too if I hadn't personally dealt with him and also purchased a non-wrestling 2Up from him. He was unloading most of his collection at the time (the WWF stuff was just a drop in the bucket compared to the other stuff he sold), and he moved all of it at crazy good prices. The guy had such amazing stuff and he let it go for a song. Full disclosure: The WWF lot I bought from him for $600 included roughly 100 high-grade figures, proof bio cards, and sealed Bret Hart and Undertaker mailaways. And he KNEW how much those things went for; his pricing wasn't a product of ignorance. He just wanted to move it all along. He also included quite a few copies of his original drawings for the back of the cards (he was the guy who drew most of the figures for the back of the cards), which wasn't even mentioned in the listing. They were just something he felt like including after he and I had exchanged quite a few lengthy emails about the hobby, industry, etc. Just a super nice guy, and easily one of the best people I've dealt with in all my years involved in this hobby. I can't see him going through the trouble of making a bogus 2Up for the sake of a few hundred bucks when he willing sold a lot of his collection for a tiny fraction of what he could have EASILY gotten.

The finer detail on the Tugboat figure clearly is not good enough for it to have been official or 'finished' if you like. The paint work is poor, more so on the torso, and the hat quite frankly did not look anywhere near right. That's why I say it looked like a converted Typhoon that someone has touched up. The two areas that concerned me most were the torso paintwork and the hat which would fit in with it being a touched up/converted Typhoon.

Don't bother replying unless your post has a pic. Another post saying you don't know how is wasting these guys time, and I come here for their expert input on this stuff. You also said you were working with jeffro to get them uploaded

The two areas that concerned me most were the torso paintwork and the hat which would fit in with it being a touched up/converted Typhoon. That doesn't explain why a guy who sold probably tens of thousands of dollars worth of vintage toys for a small fraction of that would even bother faking something like that for a few hundred bucks. Might as well save himself time and trouble by just asking a bit more for the toys he did sell instead of the hassle of making a fake 2Up.

I didn't say it was a fake. I think it was probably a real Typhoon. I just don't think it is of official Hasbro quality as it presently sits. The hat for instance, would have been directly cast from the original wax head sculpt. There's no way they'd have sculpted the hat like that. I think this has been added to the '2 Up' figure at a later date. I would suggest that someone, not necessarily him, has altered it to make it look like Tugboat.

I feel like giving this thread a bit of substance so... I recently acquired my long time friends hasbro collection. The very same I used to play with as a kid. Finally got them all on display last week. Missing about 10 all together and a couple accessories. Really pulls my wrestling room together. BTW I just took this pic and uploaded it in the last 3 minutes so not hard at all mayhem... postimg.org/image/42jnvqyar

re: the Tugboat story
I think you should write a book titled "Collectors be Crazy". I know that you mean well but quite frankly I just don't care. Look, I had this wrestling figure that I took out of the trash, glued it back together and lugged it around for well over 20 years. A month or so ago when I found it I was simply going to throw it in the trash where I got it. It was kinda cool but it meant absolutely nothing to me.
