Ugh why do they have such a hard time finding the right pictures and descriptions? they are completely clueless as to what they are selling, and they're not gonna sell much unless they do a 2 for £30 deal.

They had an awesome '2 for £15' on Basics. Picked up a Tamina a couple months ago.

I don't get why this is so great tbh. Sure it's better more UK retailers are stocking them but it's a rite hassle trying to get stuff like that in Argos, things where there's varying choices n stuff they always just send whatever they like down. Then act like you're a massive inconvenience cos its not the one you wanted.
Just walk into Smyths and pick it up off the shelf. they always get plenty of everything anyway, and even reduce stuff. If you don't have a Smyths near you just order online. Still a hell of a lot easier than trying to use Argos. Even if you end up paying more with postage.
Don't see why all the love for Argos.

You can go into Argos and do a 'stock view' before you buy, they will send all available figures down to view

Don't see why all the love for Argos. Mostly just because we've been waiting almost five years for this to happen. Argos and Wfigs UK go a long way back, before the Mattel days. There are lots of Argos-based stories in Wfigs UK folklore. Occasionally we even get people pretending their local Argos used to secretly stock elites, but you had to ask for them special at the till with a password etc. Very strange. So even though most of us won't really bother with these now because Smyths FTW, it's still cool that Argos have finally decided to stock them.

But sometimes they'll just send down a Sheamus and Cena and say "that's all we've got... The other 33 figures on the system are just more of them." When they obviously have the figure we go in there for really but can't be bothered to send them all down.

The long running WFUK gag "It's £20 in Argos" so very nearly applies now since the elites in there are now £19.

I have always had a love/hate relationship with Argos since I was a kid. The store makes your queue twice for Christ sake. And having numerous figures under one item number is just intellectually- disabled. But they do not do it for all items. For example the new series of Ninja Turtle movie figures has characters with their own item numbers which is great, but another set of toys will have like 8 things all under the one number which means you need to do the dreaded "customer view" which is just brutal lol.
But at least back in the Jakks days they did carry a few of the cool box sets like the Hulk Still Rules, NWO Poison and The Team XTream set. When I was at university in Sunderland in about 2004-2005. I remember the Argos in town had two bins full and I mean full. They were so full the boxes were piled up over the top of the bins! They were full of NWO Poison and Team XTream box sets for £5 each! Man I wish I picked up a few of those NWO Poison sets lol. I even heard that they discounted then even further at some point, but I never personally saw that.

It's cool that they'll probably stock slightly older Elite series at various stores (I think there have been reports of a Series 24 Miz) - it's not cool that they cost £18.99 though... I mean, the price seems to be going up all the time: £12.99, £15.49, £16.99, £17.99, £18.99... it'll be £19.99 a figure before too long. How come we have to pay so much more than the US for Elites?

Do we need 2 threads on this?!
Argos are also selling them £1 more than Smyths. Personally, as someone said, I'd rather drive to a Smyths a pick one up from the shelves, than do the Argos stock view which I'm paying extra for.
