Slow news day. But if John did leave? It would leave the WWE with such a huge problem, I'm not sure they'd ever recover from it. They have to figure out a way to keep going without him. Cena's going to do the job to father time eventually. They will certainly struggle without him, they'll probably never have anybody that brings in as much money from different sources as him. Without him this year, they'd probably be $150-200million down for the year instead of just $50million... So he's the only thing that's keeping them from having a worse year financially than 2000 WCW. If the network ever becomes stable as a moneymaker rather than a moneyloser, they'll be much more secure and less reliant on the great JC.

But at least if he generally fades out then they'll have time to attempt at a suitor. If he just suddenly left in the next year without a whole lot of warning then there'd be some serious crap going down at WWE HQ. Either way, I don't really see someone breaking through the business and becoming known to the general public like John Cena has again. I know Hogan and others did, but it was a completely different time when pretty much everyone watched wrestling.

He has been getting more mainstream roles lately, can't see him leaving though, he will work around it like he always does.

The WWE will be fine. They were fine when Hogan left, fine when Rock and Austin left, fine when Brock left, the WWE will always be fine. They are a staple of american entertainment. And they have no competition now unlike back then people like wrestling. The company has nothing to worry about other then a short down period of income. Then they'll pick themselves up and dust themselves off just like they always do.

Unfortunately, Cena doesn't have the charisma or the acting skills that The Rock has, so he'll be here to stay forever. It is incredibly hypocritical, though, that he would miss back-to-back RAWs on the road to what's supposed to be one of the company's biggest PPVs of the year because he has a minor role in some movie to film after his entire schtick during his feud with The Rock was about "ZOMG U SAID U WOOD NEVA LEAVE!!11@"

Every movie he's done since then has been extremely forgettable. So I agree with you there.

Plain and simple Cena won't walk out on his current deal with the WWE. Will he sign another when the current deal is up? That is a great question. If the company is losing as much money as they are I can see them cutting back on Cena's contract, which could lead to him leaving then. Until that point I can't see Cena leaving, maybe taking a little more time off from now until his contract runs out.
Cena today is the second biggest crossover star the company has on the roster. Even though he isn't around WWE very often the Rock is constantly asked about the company which puts him above Cena in the regard of crossover appeal.
I am sure the WWE is already preparing for Cena's inevitable departure. Like someone else on here said Cena has been going strong for over a decade now, and in terms of the WWE his shelf life is getting set to expire. Mind you I don't think Cena will become another huge Hollywood Megastar, but I think he could have pretty good career as a secondary action guy.

Yeah and Heath Slater is going to take his place as the face of the company. Dirt sheets are pathetic nowadays.

Everyone that is saying there would be no other talent... Daniel Bryan, Roman Regins, Kane, Mysterio, Big Show, Ryback, Ambrose, Orton, Rollins, Ziggler, Cesaro they also have Mid-Carders such as Bo, Rusev, Big E, Curtis Axel, RVD, Christian, Ryder, Adam Rose... that's some talents of the top of my head
