I placed an order with RSC yesterday and emailed them asking if they can pick the figures with mint carding but they wouldn't have to bubble wrap them so I wouldn't get charged for PPS because they usually arrive fine. I get a response back saying they can't pick mint carding. I don't understand why not, it would take an extra 20 seconds. So do you guys think there should be an option for people who collect loose and on card before you check out?

Yes I believe so. If I was a moc collector I'd be pissed if my item arrived completely damaged

I think that would just open up a can of worms. If they guarantee mint carding, a collector, who is extra picky, might see a little crease by the top and want their money back. It's definitely smart for Ringside, as a business, to not guarantee mint carding.
...but the loose figure option shipping might not be a bad idea.

I like the idea of loose shipping. Complete item, full price, loose shipping

I know once it's out of their hands they can't control it. But if they were to open a box that was damaged from Mattel don't just send it out. If they have that option then they could tell that a customer doesn't care about the carding since they could see if they collect MOC or loose.

Nice idea, plus ripping the box apart takes away 35 seconds of your life.

It's a horrible idea. Next it would be they should go through every figure to find the best painted one. I've never had an issue with a RSC order coming damaged unless I ordered a discounted damaged packaged figure. If you want it to be safer then pay the extra premium shipping they offer for MOC collectors.

They always seem to ship MOC regardless. I'm a loose collector and still notice how nice the packaging looks when a figure arrives. I guess it's all relative to how crazy you get over the carding.
I honestly don't think Ringside should guarantee any kind of packaging quality unless you spend the extra money to make sure they handle the figure with extra care.

Sure, but it should involve a high premium price.

It's easy for you loose collectors to say no. But when they know it damaged before it leaves their warehouse it is sad. I'm not wanting to pay more money just asking RSC to check the carding before they package them. Plus PPS doesn't always work. You want to know why? Because I paid for the service once and they bubble wrapped the figures and then they shoved too many figures in one box instead of putting the figures in 2 separate boxes still causing the carding to stll get damaged.

This will sound harsh, but then wait for them to hit retail. There is no way RSC can guarantee perfect carding no matter how perfectly they pack it, because once it leaves RSC. There's at least 5 people handling the package before you get it. If it's from UPS you have the driver who picks it up, then the uploaded who unloads the truck, the sorter who sorts the package, the loader who loads it into an outboand trailer...or onto a truck if it is going to someplace that hub services. And for each hub that that package goes through it's the sane process.
And God only knows what kind of day they are having or how responsible each of those employees. Are they tossing it? Using it as a step stool, kicking it, packing it as the bottom part of a wall in the trailer. All things I've seen on a daily basis at UPS. I'm sure FedEx and the USPS are the same. And RSC shouldn't be responsible for how the shippers handle the package. All they can do is pack it in a way that is reasonable to get to it's destination in one piece.

Yes I ve only had a couple things my wife got me for Christmas but I do moc and was somewhat disappointed with packaging , it's stuff I wouldn't buy on the shelf in its conditioned even if I didn't have it. Moc collecting is just that so having a package of a new figure looking like crap sucks. Not ripping Rsc I know it's a business and they process tons of orders but think it's a decent idea.

BigBadToyStore does this for a fee. It costs a bit more but they send MOC collectors proper boxes.

I've never picked collectors grade or whatever they call it. Just standard. Same with RSC I've never gotten anything from them damaged. TRU, Amazon, Shop Mattel and WWE Shop have all had orders arrived crushed at one time or another.

Yea they normally are great, but did have some dinged up boxes with some Gears of War stuff a while back. Glad to know they have an option for it though.

So do you guys think there should be an option for people who collect loose and on card before you check out? I think the way they ship now is fine. You have to remember they are running a Business. They have to try and streamline the shipping process as much as they can to be as efficient as possible. If they drop what they are doing to fill special requests it just complicates what they are doing now. Basically if it isnt broken, dont fix it.

Yes and no i dont think they have time to go through hundreds of figures to find the one with the best package
