Ric Flair was originally scheduled to be at Tuesday's WWE SmackDown tapings in Fayetteville, North Carolina but the show was re-written on Tuesday morning and he wasn't brought in.
WWE's original plans for Flair had him being used on TV every week but that may not be the case now. Flair has signed a new deal and will be popping up on TV semi-regularly going into SummerSlam, possibly beyond. We noted yesterday that it appeared on Monday's RAW that creative has nothing solid for him yet.

Creative does not know how to use any legend these days. They could not even use Hogan right on the road to WrestleMania.

This is fine. No reason for him to be on TV every week unless he's in some sort of a manager position.

Someone with the abilities to take a talent to the top like Flair should be managing a superstar in this day and age. I think back to a situation in WCW like Harley Race when he was with Vader.
With an unreasonable amount of stars floating around the midcard (Sheamus, Ambrose, Rollins, Miz, Kofi, Cesaro, Del Rio, Barrett, Ziggler, Sandow, etc) Flair is a guy who could make one of them stand out. I wish they'd put him with Ziggler, but I'd also be ok with the rumor of him with Miz. Lets be honest it would be a vast improvement over the bs character Miz is at the moment. (You're not a movie star, your movies have all been straight to DVD, congrats you're on the same level movie wise as Kurt Angle and Matt Hardy)
Point is Flair should be managing someone. Look what he did for Triple H, Orton, and Batista.

I'd love to see him manage a heel faction. Maybe put Ziggler, Rhodes, Sandow and Ryback in it? Kinda like what TNA did with Fortune.
Other guys who I could see work in it would be BNB, Axel, A-RY, Miz, and Swagger

So many possibiltiies..... hard to believe that they just can't think of something productive for him to do. This is the state of the WWE booking team in 2014.
Why can't they just make it fun? So frustrating, I just want to JACKSLAP the creative team.....

This would be a great way for him to bring in his daughter and maybe sasha.

I love Flair, but he's seemed drunk the last few times I've seen him, except at TakeOver.

Pulling him from the show in Flair country is kind of weak. Just make him the Raw GM for christ sake. Is that so hard?

its pretty obvious "creative" has nothing. period. they brought Flair out on RAW for this huge appearance, for him to tell us who he thinks is going to win Sunday night. really? ? ing terrible and a waste of time. but this is the WWE writing team "ZOMG ITZ FLAIR" and to them that's all that's important forget actually doing anything exciting, just put the name out and hit the theme.

The Authority should bring him in as the new GM.

how can creative have problems figuring out what to do with Ric Flair? Because he's an unreliable old drunk that they can't have wrestle, and he has a very hard time sticking to the point and/or getting another talent over just by talking. He was an embarrassment to himself and the company during his WrestleMania week panel appearances on the network, I was cringing watching that. He was even worse at last year's 2K/SummerSlam panel. As a manager, he'd likely overshadow anybody they put him with, like he did with AJ Styles in TNA. Ric Flair doesn't have all his marbles anymore, he's a very difficult character (well the performer moreso) to write a weekly role for. It's basically a case of finding a way for him to do the crazy old perv gimmick without causing too much trouble.

No point in over saturating him till they have some direction for him. Personally I'd like for him to either...
A) Be the new GM of both RAW & SD. And have him work for Triple H & Stephanie. That way he gets his TV time and is realigned with Hunter.
or...
B) (kayfabe) Have him elected to the Board of Directors. That way he can step in occasionally to overrule Triple H & Stephanie.
