Just let Reigns and HHH brawl for the title.
Cena and Brock don't need it.

Yeah, Cena is retaining tomorrow night.

I'm going to be there, so a Cena-less Raw is fine by me.

I think they'll write him off with a kayfabe injury during the match. I'm hyped for Battleground and I hope they give the belt to Reigns already.

They'll "injure" him, giving him an obvious disadvantage when facing Brock.
So...Cena wins tomorrow.

- Cena retains tomorrow night. - Rollins attempts to cash in, but is stopped once again by Ambrose. - Monday night, Hunter announces his plan C is Brock Lesnar!
This allows a week or two of build for Cena/Lesnar, without having the two face off. I could see Lesnar not being on RAW next Monday, with Cena replying to the announcement.

Reigns is still a bit ways from being established. He needs to go through Orton and Triple H yet and even then I still don't find him ready to be champion. I like Reigns and all, but I'm starting to think he will be another Cena as far as the IWC goes. Not talking talent, but the IWC just being brutal to this guy. I know WWE is in a hurry to push this guy, but I personally see it hurting him in the long run.

WWE sees potential in Reigns to become the next big guy in the company, and I know it'll happen as well. The WWE doesn't care what the IWC thinks. If he's getting louder pops than anyone they're going to pull the trigger. The roster is getting older and they need to continue to push new stars. Roman Reigns is the guy.

I like the jump being made. Cena is missing one show. Obviously means he's losing the title. So I guess a pre-taped segment is out of the question. They could totally acknowledge he's on set for a movie. That's the hustle part of his motto.

But I can't see any other outcome besides Cena winning at Battleground. Reigns won't win the title and then get destroyed for it by Brock Lesnar a month later.

I see potential in him too, but he has a few flaws that need to be fixed before that title gets in his hands. First, his character. He is playing a badass right? Weeks ago, we seen him pulling shenanigans by putting some drug or whatever in Stephanie's coffee and trying to flirt with Vickie to sneak into the battle royal. He was also playing these silly games with Cena about who the crowd loves more. I just see some character flaws in the guy. Being over is one thing, but being able to deliver character-wise is a completely different realm. He is over, no doubt. That doesn't mean he should be handed the title. Second, He has yet to put on ONE single's match that has been remotely close to a 5-Star performance(IMO). I think that should have to occur for me to be completely sold on this guy. Even at that, how can he keep the crowd involved and loving him or whatever? That is something else. HE HAS TO GET BETTER ON THE MIC. He isn't terrible, but he isn't great. He is very quiet on the mic. There are many stars that haven't been great on the mic(Orton, Lesnar, etc.) but I feel that Reigns needs to get a bit more exposed to being on the mic. My final thing is: You said he is ready? I go about it like this, sure he is over. He is getting pushed to the top whether any of us like it or not, that's just how it is. When it comes down to it, the big question is: Is he ready? We may think he is, but what is crucial is if he truly believes he is ready. I think they are pushing the envelope a bit when it comes to pushing him. Right now, he isn't ready for the gold. Come Mania? I would be more okay with that. Just my opinion. Feel free to comment back because I love getting other's takes on things.

You know what has been the only Meltzer five star rated match in the WWE in the past ten years? Cena vs. Punk at Money in The Bank 2011. With that in mind, obviously WWE doesn't focus solely on ring work. If that were the case then the WWE would go ravage the indies and Japan and heavily change their style as well. He's over. He doesn't need to do anything on the mic, he plays his role well, a disgruntled "bounty hunter" esque guy. As you said Orton has been the second biggest guy for the WWE in the past ten years, and he can't talk on the mic. But you know why he's at the top? Because he's over, not because he's the best in-ring worker nor entertainer. Do you know why Cena is the face of the company? Because he's over. Cena hasn't cut a good promo in a while and he's still at the top. Roman is over. They need to pull the trigger if they want him to be the next big star.

First off, Meltzer is like Simon from American Idol when it comes to critiquing matches. You are correct, WWE doesn't focus solely on ring work. To be honest, his ring work and the way he can work a crowd is the only reason I can watch this guy. His promos are yet to "Wow" me. I'm not sure when being a so-called "Disgruntled bounty hunter" involved drugging someone's coffee and raising and opponents hand over and over to see who the crowd likes more. Cena cuts promos that are good. They might sound cheesy, but they are good. Not all of Cena's matches are terrible. His matches with Bray were actually very great if you ask me. WWE is an acronym that has the word "entertainment" in it. You better be able to entertain if you want to be the top champion and that is that. He played his role way better when he didn't speak and when the Shield was in it's first year. WWE is messing with his character a bit lately. Jeez, when have I ever ranted? I see what you are trying to say, but I honestly think you are jumping the gun a bit.

Come on now, nobody besides John Cena is leaving Battleground with the title. Brock Lesnar is winning the title at SummerSlam and nothing is going to change that plan.
The advertised main event is Reigns, Ambrose and Sheamus vs Bray Wyatt, Rollins, and Randy Orton. I got that email yesterday from WWE, which could presumably end up being the dark match.
