I've only got a couple 8x10s that I have signed. May I ask what it is about promo photos that made you wanna collect them?

I've only got a couple 8x10s that I have signed. May I ask what it is about promo photos that made you wanna collect them? I just love the look of them. The white border is so distinguishable and tells you right away it's a promo. I like the variety involved. Different poses, different styles. You get 8x10, 8.5x11, Colour, B&W, sometimes the same promo in colour and B&W which is cool to have, so if you have one then you try and get the other. You have so many different options for collecting too. You can chose to only collect a certain superstar, or only the P/Numbered promos or only new style promos, etc. the fact that you can still come across 25-30 year old promos for the first time and see promos you never knew existed is awesome. It provides so much variety, something new all the time and it's fun to search for new promos. You never know what's going to appear and it's a hobby that you can never complete because you'll always uncover something new.

I've considered collecting them for a few guys like Jericho, Punk, etc. but not sure where exactly to get them. I see them on eBay and crap, but don't know where else online sells them.

I've got about 35 8x10's with maybe 10 signed. I've never made an effort to make it a serious collection and go out of my way to get them. It's just kind of random when I get them. I guess I have a nice small collection started.

Awesome site! I always enjoy looking at promo photos and especially seeing some rare ones. It gives a good look into what creative was thinking at the time, like in 1986 even Sivi Afi had a promo photo!
As an autograph collector, I enjoyed getting the promo photos signed. In the earlier days of autograph signings, WWF would have promo photos for the wrestlers to sign. This must have lasted until 2000 or 2001 when they went to the autograph mats, which are generic 8x10 pieces of paper with a logo on it. At that time, I was lucky enough to find a site that deals in promo photos so I generally bought them for signing. WCW did promo photos until the end, I believe. They were opposite of WWF as the earlier days had b & w photos that were on paper stock but around 1999 they went to higher quality, card stock, color photos.
I've received a few promo photos by writing to the wrestlers in the mid 2000s. Ones I can remember are Jim Ross and Molly Holly, who are always responsive to mail and Paul Heyman who I would guess is tougher now, probably receiving much more mail.
If I were a promo collector, I would be worried about copies. At autograph shows, a few promoters will have photo copies of promos for sale for the wrestler to sign. They may be good quality but they sure aren't authentic if you're looking for originals. Sometimes, it's very obvious like the original promo would be 8x10 in size and the new photo is 9x12 and there are straight lines on each side, made by the copy machine.

I used to have a ton, but I have been selling them off over the last year or 2 (most recently signed Regal promo & signed Dudleys championship promo) but I have 20 or so left, some of my most prized ones I have are Vince, Shane, Steph, Rock, HHH, Bossman, Owen, Edge & Christian (signed by both), Sable, LOD (signed by both), Benoit, Eddie all of which are signed & a bunch of Undertaker promos of which half are signed. I'm mainly focusing on getting my all figures signed

Yeah, in terms of fakes and reproductions, it's all about experience really. I can probably be 99% sure if a promo is real or not just by looking at it. You just compare size, type of paper, finish of paper and compare to other promos if the same period. A hell of a lot of official WWF Promos were in fact printed on Kodak paper. That was standard stock for a long time. You just learn from experience really.

Guys the site has been updated MASSIVELY in the last year, and I try to update it every month with at least a dozen new additions.
Would love to re-spark some interest in this and hopefully find some fresh faces who collect these.
Let me know!
