Sting signing a merchandise deal for video games, figures, T-shirts, etc = Good idea
Sting wrestling in the WWE = Bad idea

If that promo got no reaction out of you, you are either clinically dead or were too young to remember Sting in wCw .

I grew up on him in TNA and I was still excited despite his lackluster run towards the end Likewise. I grew up on Sting in TNA as well. I've never been huge on him like I am on Hardy, Edge, Jericho, and Punk, but I enjoyed and respected his work in TNA. He's had some great matches there. However, I wasn't a fan of his Joker run. Since then, I've not had the same feeling I had for Sting in 2004. The same applies to current day. If that promo got no reaction out of you, you are either clinically dead or were too young to remember Sting in wCw . Being young means nothing. In this day in age, you can rewatch history and educate yourself on stuff you missed while you were a dream.

But you can still be amused and interested in what wCw was producing at the time. To each their own. You can be amused or interested in anything in the past however the impacted feeling you got during that era is what you'll never get. Its like telling me you knew exactly what it felt like when Babe Ruth hit his first home run or when someone saw Muhammad Ali in the ring or even when Elvis preformed live. None of those feelings are things you'll ever get. So you'll understand how it impacted the wrestling world, but you'll never know the feeling when it happened the exact moment in time.

I have wanted him to face Triple H for years. Give me that. Not Undertaker vs Sting.

It's too late for Sting now.

Sting has been one of my favorite wrestlers since I was 5 or 6. I'm super excited about him being with the company.
I'm not too worried about him wrestling as most of my dream opponents for him (HBK, Punk, possibly Taker)are gone. But I also won't be upset if he works a couple of feuds, maybe gets on the card of Mania, just once.
What I'm excited for is interviews for docs and dvds, figures, the hall of fame induction (as well as him being there to induct Luger), and other merchandise deals.

I'm stoked that he signed a merchandise deal. I never would have thought in a billion years that he would ever sign with WWE

As cool as that video game commercial was....it also highlighted how old as crap he looks. Let him come out and have a moment, maybe a death drop on some one.....but no match.

I want a match and I want it at WM because I'll be there.
Question. Has wwf ever lowered someone from the rafters since the Owen incident?

Pretty sure once Owen fell both companies stopped doing it. Of course, there might have been one instance as dumb as Russo is.

Sting did come down from the rafters in WCW at least once during his feud with Vampiro less than a year after Owen Hart died. Edit: Found a video. At around the 4:40 mark

No matter if he is in his mid-50's, he can still go. He's not ruined himself like many others from his era. That being said, this is something I have wanted to see for longer than I can remember. I'd be hard pressed to say that he'll get his Undertaker match, but I think a feud between him the Wyatt Family would be amazing. The build-up alone would be amazing considering Sting plays the same kind of mind tricks that they do.
