My buddy and I met him last fall.... He was alright with me..... as a recovering addict myself, I mentioned to him that it was inspiring to see him go through it as well - he said "you just have to get in the damn car!" I wasn't entirely sure what that meant - but I took it as words of encouragement.... Then it was my buddy's turn - Jake pretty much tried to force my buddy to buy a shirt (he was already wearing a Jake throwback shirt). Jake told him he needed an updated shirt - put the shirt in his hand, then demanded ten bucks.... my friend politely put the shirt back down on the table and said he wasn't interested.... Meeting Jake "The Snake" was alright..... but it wasn't my favorite "meet".....

Sucks man. I met Jake last September and he was a REALLY nice guy. Joked around with me for a while. I would contact DDP in some fashion

Really sorry to hear this. I met jake twice and he was pretty nice both times. However lots of people have shared negative experiences about him. I find it's hit and miss with jake. Depends on his mood that day I guess.

Never meet your hereos....
I have no intreast in meeting famous people who's work/talent I respect. There human and often when your in the public eye and you get told your better than a normal person it brings out the worse in you.
It's a shame that he doesn't release that every fan he treats with so little respect he lose's. Most fans who go to see him have spent $/hours admiring him in person/on TV/ DVDs......all to become worthless from meeting him for a couple of minutes...
Very sad indeed.

Don't mean to piggy back your thread, but Scott Steiner is a massive dickhead too. Paid to have my picture with him and his brother Rick ($20 mind you) and they were going to sign them and have them out at the end of the show... Scott didn't sign one picture and acted like it was a chore to sell hello and interact with people paying to see him. He has been by far the worst person I have ever been around at a show, he did nothing but bitch to the promoter the entire time. By far my worst experience has been him and Honky Tonk Man. If you don't mind saying, why was htm bad? I've wanted to meet him. But I understand if you don't want to say

I had similar experience with Mick Foley and it really saddened me because I always thought he would be this just awesome guy then when I got up to him I started talking to him and he literally ignored me as he signed my paper and then pushed it away from him and reached around me for the next thing didn't even respond to my thank you. I met Matt Hardy at a hardware store Menards he was just shopping and he was more polite and took pictures signed an autograph for me.

At the time I don't think he was on very good terms with WWE, so he was our right refusing to sign any memorabilia that had anyone brought. This was before his Mattel figure, so I witnessed him deny someone an autograph for a Jakks figure, a WWE Encyclopedia and some other various items. It annoyed me to the point where I got out of his line and passed on the chance to meet him. Who knows, maybe he was having a bad day...but still, people had paid an additional 15 dollars for the early meet and greet and the nerve of some of these guys to act like it's an annoyance to meet fans and sign their name really bugs me.

That sucks to hear, i was really hoping he would turn it all around in his life. Thats a reason why i prefer not to go to signings i would hate to have someone i grew up with and be a dick. Luckly the guys i have met have been great, except Orton, before i was about to go on the the stage for the signing he was asking how many people he had left to sign and was pissed when he heard he had the longest line at last years summerslam. He signed my belt fake smile, and i said thanks he said sure pal with an attitude

I'm surprised, I've met aj, ptp, teddy long and sheamus and they were all real cool. Especially ptp, they said they'd take a pic with me but the lady running the axxess booth said no. So she was a bitch but everyone of the stars was cool.

Sorry to hear about the bad experience. Jake the Snake is still one of the great talkers and talents from the 80's. He's a Legend. But I can't say I'm surprised he was unfriendly. Only wrestlers I've met are Ric Flair and Booker T and they were great.

Wow, Jake said and did that? What a dick, that's one of the worst stories I've ever heard. He makes CM Punk look like a good guy.

Because I've yet to have a bad experience with him. In fact, I had a wonderful experience with him during WMXXX weekend. Also, just because someone has issue with someone or something, doesn't mean that I'm suppose to feel the same. yeah I get what your saying. I personally don't like the dude but hey it's your opinion It is pretty cool he is your favorite and all, but I am sure while at wmXXX he had DDP and all his people around him and he also had WWE people around him at all time where he couldn't be a d*ck. Sorry to hear about the bad experience at the signing. It is too bad because I do feel like out of all guys from the 80's I feel like every wrestling fan would say Jake is one of their favorites of all time. Hope it gets his stuff in gear.

That sucks, I didn't know he was such a dick, he should be happy to have the wrestling legacy he has, and the fact that people even want to meet him and get autographs.

So... why did you not confront him when you learned about the actions towards your wife?

Wow that's not the jake I met 2 years ago! He was the nicest guy to me and he never charged me anything for all the things I got signed and a free photo with him. Then a Drew a mustache on me and took another photo! Sorry to hear about that! www.flickr.com/photos/61830031@N04/14433189615/

Humm... Cool getting autographs. It's always lame to have those experiences with guys you like. I run into that at comic conventions. As a tip, try and compartmentalize your enjoyment of the character and work from the actual man.
