I haven't posted any collection pics in about 18 months and I just finished a new project so now seemed like a good time to take some pics and post them. Just for reference, this is what my display in the living room used to look like:
Four rows deep at the same height was not very good for actually seeing my figures, plus it only held 160 figures - less than half my collection. 120 feet of 1" x 6" wood, three days of measuring, sawing, staining, and assembling led to this - not the perfect design but I rent so that light fixture was not getting removed and I had to build around it. It holds approximately 260 figures and the design was specific so that both the front and back rows are easily visible. Also, the bottom two shelves doubled my DVD storage space
Here are close-ups of each shelf so you can see all the figures. Approximately one third are customs/fix-ups ranging from simple head or hand swaps or adding Ralph's clothing to hair swapping, sculpting, and painting.
There is an empty space reserved for DM Ric Flair on the WCW/nWo shelf:
My favorite shelf - the original ECW line-up! Lots of fix-ups obviously and several I want to re-work (Candido is embarrassing because I can't find a decent head, Little Guido has a huge head, Saturn has no tattoos, Super Crazy's attire is modeled after a much later design he wore in WWE, Tanaka's head is even bigger than Guido's, Spike and Corrino are complete hack jobs, 911 looks too much like Jake Roberts in Shield attire) but for now they keep me happy. The lower shelf has my latest two creations - Jay and Mark Briscoe. They are 90% done but I need to get some colored pencils to draw on their tattoos and then seal.
My current WWE shelf. I am anticipating the Wyatts taking the Tag Titles soon, plus I don't have the Usos (yet) to put those belts on anyway
The McMahon family is about to make an announcement. Behind them are the five WM tickets I had from Jakks figures. I finally found a use for them...yay me.
My modest CM Punk collection (not including RSC ECW Punk, MTIB '11, and ROH fix-up which are mixed in on the big shelves). No where near as many as Chip but more than enough for me. There is a space reserved for SS "Hitman" Punk that I have pre-ordered from RSC:
These four are figures I really wanted to display but they I couldn't fit them in the larger shelves so they got lumped together in one of the tiny center shelves:
One of these days I'm going to repaint the Indianapolis Colts' motorcycle black with red or yellow Undertaker symbols on the sides, but for now I think it still looks pretty cool. I dumped my various managers in one of the tiny center shelves because I couldn't fit them anywhere else.
Lastly, here is my ECW arena which really hasn't changed much over the past year except that the audience size suddenly got noticeably smaller - I guess I better go buy some more figures asap! This is where I keep a lot of my Mattel jobbers and guys who never got past the lower card status as well as my Jakks TNA figs and a few remaining Jakks CS figures.
Thanks for looking. Hope you enjoyed the experience
