*Andrea peeps out from behind the curtains and looks out to a sea of people glaring at her*
*She quickly goes back behind the curtains and turns to Kyle*
“I’m scared, Kyle.”
Yeah, so am I because I’m not one to usually give words of encouragement and I have this little girl looking into my emotionless eyes for guidance.
“Don’t worry we will be in the crowd supporting you, just like you support me whenever I’m in a match.”
Andrea always sends me text messages before my matches wishing me luck. This is the least I could do for her.
“I don’t know…I guess I’ll try.”
“I believe in you, Andrea. You will be just fine, I promise.”
Before my matches,I usually look around backstage as if I was a scavenger before I go out to perform and notice that nobody is ever around. II wish people would believe in me more. I’m just another talent to those people. I’m more than that, I know I am.
“Thanks Kyle!”
*Andrea scurries to the back to prepare for the play. Kyle walks always and goes to take a seat in the audience*
That little girl can always make me smile. She is never down on her luck, but she is a nervous tonight. A pretty good actress for a 13 year old. I’m beginning to think acting runs in the family. The best part about Andrea is that she reminds me of her sister, Cheyenne.
“Thanks for coming to the show, babe. You don’t know how much this means to her and I.”
*Cheyenne kisses Kyle*
Those never get old. Those soft lips planting up against my cheeks is a reminder to myself that I’m doing something right.
“Uh, no problem! I’m glad no one recognizes me in this theatre. I’m here for Andrea and you, not to sign some damn autographs.”
Who the hell am I kidding? This is the last way I would want to spend my Friday night, at a stupid Beauty and The Beast play. The only reason I’m at this stupid thing is to impress my girlfriend and show her that I care.
“The show should be starting any time now”
My watch says that it’s 6:35, this thing should have started about five minutes ago. These things never starts on time…I wish they would.
“Well, on my watch says that it’s—“
*The lights begin to dim*
“Shh, it’s about to start!”
This isn’t the first time I’ve been interrupted. Sometimes, I feel like Cheyenne is the one wearing the pants in this relationship..
“Wait, which character is your sister playing again?”
“Check the brochure they gave you on the way in stupid!”
So now only did she interrupt me, but she just called me stupid too! I guess I deserved to be called stupid. They list everyone in this stupid thing, even the set designers.
“Oh, she’s playing Belle. Isn’t that the one that dances with the Beast in the ballroom or whatever?”
“Crap, I forgot they do! I don’t even think Andrea knows how to dance.”
Cheyenne looks like she had just seen a ghost. I can see the worry growing upon her face.
“Don’t worry, she will be just fine. I know she will..”
*Kyle locks his hand with Cheyenne’s hand*
*The curtains raise on stage and the crowd begins to clap*
“YEAH, GO DREA!”
*Cheyenne slaps Kyle on the back of his head*
“What the hell was that for?”
She did not just slap me in front of all of these people!
“For acting like a buffoon!”
Who says that anymore? Buffoon. I can’t help but chuckle!
“Sorry, babe.”
*Cheyenne kisses Kyle and they both look down upon the stage*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ONE HOUR LATER
This is like watching the instruction video on how to setup cable on the TV, boring. I think I have yawned about five times already.
“Oh crap!”
I wish I knew why Cheyenne just said that.
“What is it?”
“The dancing scene is next, I’m worried for Drea.”
Cheyenne almost looks constipated and it’s starting to scare me a bit.
“Don’t worry, like I said she will be fine.”
*Andrea dances on stage with the beast*
I feel like I have just witnessed the Detroit Lions win a Superbowl. I’m in complete shock! I didn’t even think that Andrea could dance so well. Wait, I have bragging rights now!
“I told you she would be fine, babe!”
She was scared to perform in front of all of these people, but she succeeded. I wonder what fueled her to do so well…
“I knew that too!”
Cheyenne never likes to be wrong, usually because when we argue or go on a tangent about something…she’s usually right.
“Right, whatever you say.”
I feel a party going on inside of my mind because for once, I am right about something.
*Cheyenne and Kyle continue to look upon the stage*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A HALF HOUR LATER
*Crowd roars with excitement and applauds*
“Wow, my sister did it.”
“Did what? Go through with the play? I know that. I just spent an hour and a half witnessing that.”
“No smartass, I meant she played a better Belle than I did when I was in Beauty and The Beast”
Sassy girl, must be that time of the month.
*Cheyenne and Kyle exit the theatre and waits outside for Andrea*
“It’s kind of cold tonight, I can see my own breath!”
I used to always pretend like I was smoking when it was cold outside.
“Yeah, well maybe you should have wore your jacket!”
I wish I didn’t forget that damn jacket at home.
“There’s Andrea!!”
*Andrea runs to Cheyenne and Kyle*
“I can’t believe I did it! My drama teacher said I did an amazing job!”
“Good job, Drea! You made both Kyle and I proud!”
More like tired.
Andrea looks like a kid on the morning of Christmas…excited.
“How did you do it?”
I need answers from this kid.
“It was you, Kyle. You believed in me and gave me the confidence that I needed.”
“Really?”
I didn’t know words were that powerful.
“Yes, really! Now let’s go home!”
*Andrea, Cheyenne, and Kyle get in the car and Kyle begins to drive home*
That’s it! I can’t believe that I’m going to say this, but I’m glad I came to see this play with Cheyenne. I was actually taught something from a little middle school student and she doesn’t even realize that she has done that. I have to believe in myself. After Superbrawl, I started to think that maybe I am not destined to be a champion. Now, I know I was wrong. I am destined to be a champion and I will become a champion! Sure, Jayson Garrett has beaten me before. That doesn’t mean that I can’t fight back and return an ass-kicking! I have respect for the guy, but he is one of the victims that got away. Dex has been proving himself. I have to watch out for this guy. Who know’s what he will try to do in order to defeat me. Mak Cross and I, we have a few things in common. The first one is that our partners both held us back from moving on up the food chain. The second, we are hungry and both want to make a statement in this business. I’m not really sure if I can trust Mak after being let down by Mason Dixon, but at this point….I’m willing to take any risks in order to get to the top around here!
