Supposedly there might be a chance War Games might make a return. It would make sense as I doubt they would drag Evolution vs. The Shield until Survivor Series (at least not the group as a whole) and the only arena that can fit it in this years schedule is for Battleground, the expected throwaway PPV of the year. Does anyone else have any feelings toward this? source: wrestling-edge.com/update-possibility-wwe-war-games-match-jr-announces-new-show-jericho/

Over Vince's dead body.. Reports of War Games have been around for years, and every report ends with "Vince shooting it down".. I'm pretty sure this will end the same way.
I really don't expect WWE to ever set up two rings with a giant cage.

I am not necessarily expecting it, but I do find it funny that the lowest selling PPV of 2013 is being hosted by the only arena that could fit the setup this year.

If WWE wants to do a War Games in 2014, I don't think they should necessarily draw it back to the WCW version. Just lower a Hell in a Cell (in its normal form or modified) and have a door on each side (one for each team). I think they'd have enough room in there for a 4-on-4 match, especially if the action moves outside the cage once all the participants enter.

Just keep it one ring though. I was never a fan of the two rings. Looks great for the War Games itself, but all the other matches looked odd.
I read earlier that the WWE was considering Shield vs Wyatt's in the WG match.

I thought War Games and World War 3 were extremely poor concepts.
I might be alone on that.

War Games on a PPV called Battleground makes perfect sense. But would the WWE be clever enough to do it?

As much as I'd like to see the return of Wargames (with some minor rule tweaks to improve the concept) I don't think it is needed for Evolution vs Shield. There are three people in each faction so if they want to have a high impact blowoff match throw all six into the Elimination Chamber. It is virtually the same concept as Wargames since you start with two wrestlers in the ring and the other four enter at specific time intervals. WWE wouldn't need to setup two rings and build a special cage to fit over the two rings.

I remember watching one back in the late 90's when I was a kid, wrestling was at it's peak and all I could think while watching was "this is a mess"..

I guess you guys missed all the war games matches where guys didn't bleed? Go grab the bluRay fellas. Shield and Bryan vs. Evolution and Kane or someone else I'm sold. Do it WWE 12' style in the Cell if need be or even an entirely new cage if they don't want to use the original war games set up.
To be honest the low roof always limited WCW/NWA war games matches. A WWE War Games would have so many possibilities that they didn't have in WCW.

War Games is so overrated. This is another situation of people wanting something just because they think Vince will never do it. Trust me, if it happens, you won't like it.

Triple H has been trying for years to make it happen but Vince always says no.
I guarantee you when HHH (and Stephanie) have full control, it will happen.
And I welcome it.
Shield, Bryan and Cena vs The Wyatt Family, Kane and Randy Orton

Almost everyone that wants it back has never seen it in action. It's stupid. Dangerous Alliance vs Stings Squadron would beg to differ. It was actually given a 5 star rating by Meltzer and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. War Games isnt suppose to be "technical wrestling match" its a brawl to blow off a feud. Im disappointed if I see a wrist lock in War Games. Horsemen vs Dudes with Attitudes was also a great War Games match but had a bad ending. My personal favorite will always be the first one with The Horsemen vs Dusty, Nikita, Road Warriors & Ellering. War Games, if done right, is and can be an amazing match. I dont trust "Family friendly" WWE to be able to pull it off right though.

Same with a bad match.

I like the concept, but the match goes very slow until the last few minutes with the finish and I think the crowd is gonna get bored with the WarGames because it's more brawling and they could go so far with just brawling. I'm not one of those that's gonna say "Oh, they need blood or it's gonna fail". I'm saying the flow of the match might not go well with the crowd. If it does happen, it'll be interesting to see how the match will turn out.
