There are some perks to shopping online when it comes to these figs: Cheaper sometimes, dont have to visit 12 stores just to find that treasure and if I time it right my wifes not home when it arrives. But, lately ive been getting burned. I am very picky when it comes to choosing figs. So, when I recieve an order and my Fandango has a black mole on his abs, I tend to get a little pissed off. Thats one of the perks to going hunting as you can pick and choose and avoid crap like this. Be that as it may, whats the best way to remove the mystery black markings on these figures without damaging them?

@figaddicted - There are a few options with this, but it depends on how severe the "damage" is as there is a risk when trying to remove such things as these annoying spots that often are found. As noted above, nail polish remover is a good way to go, just use a Q-Tip and lightly dab it on the spot you're wanting to remove. The higher strength the nail polish the faster the mark will come off, but with warning of that higher strength lies the risk of hurting the plastic. I use Acetone myself, but I customize & have had a lot of experience with it. I say try the nail polish route and test that & hopefully in the future you'll never have to do so again. I have two Fandango's that had black marks on the torso after taking off his vest. Hope your wife has some nail polish remover so you don't have to go out & purchase a whole bottle just for this one spot..

if done properly, u can use some fine sandpaper, dont go crazy with it, but give it a couple swipes, i have removed some stupid marks that way...the nail polish works too

I've had pretty good success with a magic eraser pad as well for smaller blemishes.

Be careful with the nail polish remover. This is a strong solution and if you use too much, you can blur the painting of the fig.

I heard camel urine is good for removing the black marks on a figure.

I've noticed elite Fandangos have a lot of dodgy paint apps. I've now come across 4 and each have had crappy faces.
I am getting really burned out on the Hunt though. It's such a time suck and I hate having to hit multiple stores across several weeks just to get what I want.

Imagine if you will receiving a figure with a bad paint job, mark, smear, etc. or getting a imperfect card (no matter how small).

Hope your wife has some nail polish remover so you don't have to go out & purchase a whole bottle just for this one spot.. My wife just lets her nails lose the polish naturally over time. I buy the nail polish in my house. Like a real man. Yeah my WM Bret Hart just arrived and the heart on his singlet is all off center, nail polish remover ain't gonna fix this one... :/ It's supposed to be off center. That's how it was in the match. He didn't start centering the heart logo until later I'm his career.
