He's the Lou Thesz of modern WWE. Kurt Angle was close, but Antonio Cesaro is the Hooker incarnate.
Thesz was beloved by fans in the low millions, but used villainous tactics to win more easily(Kayfabe).
He's on the path to becoming the man to relegitamize the WWE's second oldest active championship.
His position is a tweener. Nothing left upon which to elaborate.

Cesaro isn't a heel or a face. He's just the most athletically gifted wrestler in WWE right now and the true legit strongest man in the company. He is going to be the next star to emerge in the business.

While I do like Cesaro and Heyman, putting the manager of the 2nd biggest heel of the company with one of the more popular guys right now is just really awkward.

There are no heels or faces in the way we might remember the terms.
I'd say he's Cesaro and people will either love him or hate him.
I don't know anyone who would hate him, he's absolutely fantastic.

He is sorta in the 2006 RVD category where he is a face but is taking full advantage of every opportunity he is given.

Either way I'm not happy they've dropped the Real Americans / Jack Swaggers Music. It suits Cesaro to a tee.

If we're talking crowd reaction here, remember Cena is still a face. Crowd reaction means almost nothing, pretty sure he is a heel with tweener tendencies ala Austin in 97

He's a reality era heel.
Meaning he's meant to be booked as a heel but will get cheered by the crowd most of the time depending on where they're at.

He's a heel
that the "adult male" fanbase loves more than just about every face in the company

The fans cheer for who they like and boo who they dislike. The fans decide who is heel and face. Its different in everyone's perspectives.
I think he is a face as far as I can see it. We can never see face vs face that often anymore..

Heel, but it is a confusing situation. Swagger was still attacking him last week.

I feel like we are in an era with so many tweeners now.

They've been talking for a while about blurring the lines between faces and heels. I think he's an experiment in that direction. He's got one of the most hated men in wrestling as his manager, yet he's still getting cheered

They are trying to bill him as heel, but he gets face reactions. Not a fan of this tweener gimmick. Give me good guys and bad guys. Remember when a good guy turning bad or vice versa meant something and it didn't happen ever other week?

I think Cesaro turning on Swagger and then winning the battle royal was the WWE totally doing a 360 into the Heyman guy storyline. After Mania, none of the fans thought they would see that. A 360 would entail a turn, win the battle royal and then reunite with Swagger. Perhaps you were thinking a different degree? Anyway...I see Cesaro as a heel. Heyman is doing his damndest with the UT/Brock stuff to make sure he garners as much heat as possible. Another reason they decided to move Cesaro away from "We The People" was cuz fans were chanting that FOR him. Now that is not associated with him and takes a chant away. WWE wants him to be a heel, regardless if the crowd wants him to be face.
