What happened? I mean remember the days where you walk into toys r us (2010) and they would have full elite series of series 3,4,5 and basic series full of 4,5,6. What happened? Now we walk into toys r us and they only have the shelf warmers of elite series(if they have elites) and aren't stacked to the brim like 2010. So why do isn't the stores stacked with a wide variety of series like 2010?

Same reason I guess every other post here mentions how this place has "slowed down". Wrestling is just getting good again, but a lot of people don't know that because 2010 until mid 2012 was horrible. Another thing is I don't think kids are as into it as they used to be. I can't even think of the last time I saw a kid under 10 wearing a wrestling shirt. Where I see adults wearing wresting shirts from the late 90's all the time. Having no cartoonish characters on the roster full time. I believe Mattel should start marketing these to adults as high end collector item rather than children.

Mattel saying "Hey ya know what'll sell? If we pack another Cena repaint, Del Rio, Sheamus, Blue Punk or Mysterio in every set and make them 5 per case!" I seriously hope they realize that nobody buys Sheamus or Del Rio. They never sell. My Target usually immediately sells out of figures within 24 hours of putting a new case out but the figures that warm? Del Rio. And only Del Rio. Kids and collectors do not want him. He didn't sell when he was a face and sure as hell won't when he's a heel.
Scalpers are a big part too. It's irritating to know that somebody can call the store, ask them what they have and have them put aside certain figures. That's laziness and takes away from the thrill of the hunt for somebody else. And for what? So they can make a buck? Literally they're probably only making a buck because of eBay fees. What's the point?

Aside from scalpers getting in at opening I think there are more collectors out there too. I started this time last year and was able to find every current release without a problem. As the year went on, it wasn't difficult to find what I wanted but it certainly wasn't as easy. As the WWE gets better, there will be more collectors.

Or idiot scalpers that see their opportunity to make some money when certain characters are hot.

Everything seems to be selling well. I don't know why you would want to go in a store and see figures from the last three or four series.

So they prob dont pump out as much product as before? I would think they put more focus on lines that are struggling and not so much on toy lines that are doing well. That's just my guess though, I could be wrong.

It's more like people are so fed up with the same old rehashes that when Mattel finally does make a new character or a character that hasnt been made much people want it.

Seems pretty logical reason actually I would think Hot Wheels out sell WWE, both are made by mattel. If you ever pay attention to Hot Wheels there are periods of time where stores will have little to nothing on shelves. So if Hot Wheels go so light on shelves what can you expect for wwe figs? The same at best I would think.

And once I had to go in the Barbie aisle (yes I know) for my little cousin to get her a gift, and they were even low on barbies. Maybe Mattel doesn't ship too much out to the stores, but if you look as hasbro products, they're always stacked. Maybe something with Mattel overall? But I still love them

Besides, I'd rather see E12 Kane and I already have 2 Kanes and Nash (maybe 3, I forget).

I know I saw the Hot Wheels convention this year were they were talking about shipping delays because they moved some stuff from China to Malaysia. It kinda goes back to what I said earlier they prob focus more on trouble spots in their company.

But I think you have the most logical and legit reasoning

WWE Mattel figures seem to be in alarmingly high demand at the moment. This being said, I have barely been able to find WWE Mattel elite figures since they came out . . . My area is FLOODED with scalpers . . it is a major buzz kill =/

You guys would have loved the warly to late 90's... Walmart alone had 4 action figure Isles. And Toys R Us, hahah they actually had alot of toys. Like an overwhelming " What do I buy?" amount of toys. Now, thanks to internet stores, ebay, and nunerous outsourced ways to buy toys, and any other products, stores are slowly being fazed out.
Mattel did a hard launch. Rememer, stores were still trying to clearance their JAKKS merch. Which took a good year to clear out/send back. Yes there's scalpers, and demand. But most stores order 1-3 cases of a series and move on to the next series... Unlike the past, when they would overstock. However, history could repeat itself, an once again we could all venture into TRU/Target/Walmart/etc and see rows and rows of WWE figures. Hopefully it happens again.
