There was a time I didn't consider myself a fan of Warrior. I'd heard all the bad press and I honestly wasn't impressed with his work. However, some time in the last year and a half, a light-bulb went off for me when watching older footage of the man. I finally "got it" if you will and learned to respect and even be entertained by what he brought to the table. I'm proud to say that before his death, I became a fan.
What I saw Saturday at the Hall of Fame made me respect the man. He didn't come across as bitter but rather someone who simply wanted the right light put on him. He actually came across as very genuine, caring and humble.
It is unreal that just after the induction, just after that promo on Raw, he's gone. I pray for his wife and two beautiful daughters. The wrestling world will keep on moving ahead as it always has and always will but his legacy will live on.

Deeply saddened by this news. People die, but this day and age it's not 54. 54 is young, too young. I feel for his fans, but I feel worse for his family.

Thank you for brining Ultimate Warrior to us collectors. His first figure from Classics 1 is still a heavy favorite and while I had been planning to get a new one to replace the one I had lost in my MD to NJ move anyway, his passing prompted me to do so sooner rather than later (I also bought a separate Winged eagle Championship belt to take the place of the Attitude Bet his figure comes with.)

The Streak ending hit me like a bullet through the heart, this hits like the bullet to put me out of my misery. Completely shocked. I 100% agree with you here. Absolutely devastating news.

Thanks for posting that JeremyPadawerI was such a big Warrior fan as a kid, that even my forum name on the first forum I ever joined... Jeremy.com was "Harts+Warrior". As I child I fully emulated him. I was completely enamored with everything about him. Even though I never met him, losing someone that I loved so much at one time in my life is something that I don't think I'll ever fully recover from. It's odd cause I mourn his death as if we've been life long friends. I feel empty today.

So shocked, he really meant what he said in the speech and I think that's what makes it so powerful and emotional, its like he knew he was gonna die.

Completely fascinated by him as a child growing up in the late 80s early 90s. A fascination that never really went away, despite now being 28. Had little interest in WWE for the last 10 years apart from the collecting side, but Warrior was always my favourite alongside Bret. A huge hole has been left, im just so glad he got to experience it all one more time, and settle a few differences at the same time.. Warrior was the one old school wrestler I was still so desperate to meet one day here in the UK. I have a few one of and irreplaceable Warrior items in my collection, and I will treasure them for ever. RIP, my sincere thoughts to his family. X

It's odd cause I mourn his death as if we've been life long friends. I feel empty today. Yeah, I know man. I've been like that too. This sums up my day too. Its like a long time friend is gone from my life. I guess it boils down to ,especially those of us over 30ish, mourning the death of this real life super hero and by turn, the death of childhood. He was there as a hero on Saturday mornings, he was on the magazine covers, he was our favorite action figure, he provided more than just entertainment to us kids. He provided us with a "comfort" of sorts. Like knowing this crazed face painted madman was on OUR side , made you feel a little untouchable by association yourself. Now that his journey is complete, he has left us "kids" one last comfort. That a person can live life on their own terms ,ignoring the critics, by working hard, any one of us can leave this world with the love and respect of our family, friends, and peers and live on through them. Thats our world title accomplishment. And every one of us could have it.

We see our heroes get old, die young and often in pain. It's extremely hard going seeing people you care about in that way.

The shock waves of his death has been tremendous. Similar to Macho Man...but since the Warrior seemed like the Ultimate good guy in the ring, many of us now adults are in a state of remembrance and saddness more than Macho Man because the Warrior represented ideals we all as humans once held as kids. The better times of how electric the Warrior was will be remembered as he brought joy, that many of us who are now much older, long forgot.
Similar to superheroes, the Warrior represented idealism, truth and justice; good will win because for no other reason, it MUST.
In my eyes, he was the greatest ever., in my eyes he was the Ultimate hero.
I will quote the Ultimate Hero: "Every man's heart one day beats its final beat, his lungs breath their final breath. And if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them bleed deeper than something that is larger than life, than his essence, his spirit will be immortalized. By the storytellers, by the loyalty, of those who honor him and make what that man did live forever. You, you, you, you, you are the legend-makers of Ultimate Warrior... I am Ultimate Warrior, you are the Ultimate Warrior fans, and the spirit of the Ultimate Warrior will run forever!"

That's what makes it so hard. Just seeing how happy he was this weekend and seeing him in the ring on RAW. It's like his speech on Monday was his way of saying good-bye. So glad though that we got to see him one last time.

Thank you Jeremy for giving us your perspective. If you really think about it, Jakks CS1 Ultimate Warrior just might be one of the most important wrestling figures ever. Yeah, there were other figures in the first CS wave, but HBK, HHH and Undertaker were still active wrestlers and Andre the Giant was universally panned as being just an Andre head on a Big Show body. But to be able to walk into a toy store in 2004, 13 yrs since he was a fulltime wrestler, and buy an Ultimate Warrior figure (if you could even find one as it was obviously the most popular figure in the set) in his attire from his most famous match is just pure marketing genius. Without the success of CS1 anchored by Warrior, we wouldnt have gotten 25+ more series of Classic Superstars. RIP Ultimate Warrior. I feel very fortunate that the heyday of your wrestling career coincided with my childhood

nice to hear from you again Jeremy.
I have to attribute the Jakks Classic Superstars line for reigniting my love for action figures again. I stopped collecting in 94 and never thought I'd buy another wrestling figure again.
seeing CS1 Warrior and Bret Hart especially got me hooked. So nice to read how involved Warrior was so that we could have a product worthy of the Warrior brand.
RIP Warrior, still can't believe you're gone...

I still remember going to into my local Woolworths and seeing the last CS1 Ultimate Warrior on the shelf and completely marking out.
