does the IWC hivemind like CM Punk this week? I do. Bizarre holding a Punk written comic, knowing this is a dude I watched wrestle in front of 20 people.

Depends. I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for CM Punk the character and the sh*t he did in the ring. Phil Brooks on the other hand? Total knob. Absolute dink. 2/10 would not recommend.
I had to learn to separate fantasy from reality a couple years ago when I made the mistake of meeting a childhood hero. I was (read: still am) the biggest Power Rangers dork, and like every PR dork, Tommy Oliver was one of my favorites. In 2013 I stood in line to meet Jason David Frank at NYCC. Survey says? Biggest doorknob ever. Social media corroborates that theory. Guy thinks he is PR and it'd die off without him doing the con circuit and typing "HAHAHA YEAHHHHH" on his Facebook every hour.
Shiro Izumi (the guy who played Burai in the original Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger source material) treated me like a total rock star when I met him in the third grade. Class act dude.
Is that Brooks Thor book any good, or does it read like Punk thinks he's god of the nerds for getting the chance to guest write it?

To answer your first question DB, I'll be certified 5-12 once I'm done with student teaching. I first read Animal Farm when I was 14, and my unit plan was for a freshman class. But my content area is in English, not History, which is why I said it'd be better used in a History class.
I tend to think on the Punk book that he'll probably try to keep it somewhat authentic, but the latter scenario wouldn't surprise me either. But with him being signed to a UFC contract and scheduled to fight sometime this year, Punk needs to put his focus on his lack of striking skills if he wants to have a shot at winning. His jujitsu is decent, but not enough to be his only skill. Luckily he's training with Duke Roufus, so he should make those improvements.

Is that Brooks Thor book any good, or does it read like Punk thinks he's god of the nerds for getting the chance to guest write it? I have a JDF story! I was standing looking at something at Wizard World and this dude starts talking to me. I figure he's a booth vendor trying to make a sale, so I talk for a minute. He says "how old are you?" odd, but whatever, I said 26. He says "Oh, you probably grew up with the Power Rangers then right?" "yeah. I watched them a little bit". "You want an autograph bro? The con is making me charge $20, but $10 between you and me right now.". I had no idea who this person was I was talking to. So I passed and slowly walked away. Later on, I see him at his table, with JASON DAVID FRANK, MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS, MMA FIGHTER" and he's sitting under the sign like lonely Virgil. I told the people I was with about my earlier encounter and they weren't surprised. I only read Punk's story in it before I went to work. it has 3 stories from guest writers and illustrators. Punk's is illustrated by the guy who does Chew. It was decent. Not entirely what I was expecting but I'd read more from him if he wrote his own series.

I'm slightly intrigued by the Thor annual due to the Punk stuff, and I say that as someone who's not generally a Thor fan (give me Ultimate Spider-Man or Iron Man any day).

I'm so sad that the Ultimate universe fell apart the way it did, because for so long it worked so well. The transfer of duties on Ultimates 3 was a major slip. Ultimatum was so wrong. They had this universe that just clicked and they let it get so out of hand.

I'm not a super hero reader at all. I'd much rather read horror novels, Nailbiter, Walking Dead, Chew, and the like. But with Punk writing and Rob Guillory of Chew illustrating, that story at least was a much see for me.

I despise Punk with every fiber of my being so... I respect him as a wrestler. He was very talented in the ring and he brought a new level of charisma and character that contributed to the wrestling business overall. As a person, he seems like one of the biggest assh*les.

And I'm behind. university. College. You're American. You go to COLLEGE. Don't listen to him Shawn, work hard at school and maybe one day you can become British. There's nothing wrong with trying to better yourself.
