Never had any Mattel figures broke.
Worse I've had with a basic is a loose arm or a loose hand. Not coming out, just not very tight.
Elites, the older ones anyway seem to have poor foot joints to me, makes it difficult for them to stand right. Although I havn't had any problems with any since like Elite 14.

I've noticed recently that some of the newer figures, while some are built much better, others have tons of quality issues. I have most issues with BAF parts than anything else so far, to date.

I find elites have way more faulty's than basics with pegs broken, popped out wrists etc.
But lately my basics have had paint issues and the arms are very stiff even after the water trick.

Only the series 2 Kozlov. I had 3 and the first two both had a fused hip that tore off when I tried to snap it loose.

Elites did twice. Otherwise nope mostly not if you're just displaying them

The only time a Mattel figure has broke was when I was doing head swaps and the peg would come out with the head. Since I've learned about the hot water trick no head or part has broken off.

I've gone through a lot of figures and only seen a couple of fused hips and paint sloppiness but never had one broken unless I snap the torso doing splits for customs.

i've never had any issues with my basics other than paint F ups.. but ive had multiple problems with elite figs..figures out the box that have extremely loose arms or knee joints...i had a brock lesnar with a wrist that didnt swivel, i thought maybe it was just stiff, twisted it a quarter of the way, and it snapped off... =__=

I have a Roddy Piper from the Legends 2 pack that almost snapped at the hip peg. I think that the rubber band had snaked it's way around his hip and was putting unnecessary pressure on it. It didn't actually break, though. No broken basics at all, although when an ankle is weak (which doesn't happen a whole lot) it can be very floppy due to the simpler design of the joint over an Elite.

Only had one of the Usos hands break off due to it being frozen and me trying to twist it. Other than that haven't had any figures, elite or basic, break on me.

elites are notorious for having quality control issues. I remember me and fellow member bought an Elite christian, one eyebrow was on upside down, and it had big shows feet.
but more recent elite have dodgy leg joints, in which they're very stiff, when you try and move them they either become very loose or snap off alltogether, people have said that a figure has fallen off a shelf and the leg has snapped off.
I think because elites are aimed more at adult collectors, who dont play with their figures, they're not built to be as "sturdy" as the basics which from their build you can tell could take a decent amount of battering before snapping.

Only one I had break was the first WMH Undertaker his hand broke off but that was before I found out about the heated water trick. But together I have all the elites and most basics and they both have held up well just the early elites some were a little loose in spots.

I've broken a lot of Jakks Figures but never a Mattel one, despite how rough i am with them in my fed i've never gotten more than a loose head or foot joint.
