I'd buy one for sure...in fact, I made one: Still working on it. I want to give him thicker thighs, and I wish the head was smaller, but for the parts available I think its okay. That's great!

I've been aching to make one too! You use the Zeke body? I've thought that might be a good one, him or Brock Lesnar (especially since Lesnar has the thicker legs) and less repainting for skintone Its a lesnar body and arms, big show hands, duggan crotch and upper legs, lesnar lower legs. Including the jakks head, all parts skintone match! Unfortunately I messed up taking lesnars tats off and had to paint a skintone anyway. Ill get better pics up tonight and post in the fixup thread.

That custom looks pretty damn good.
I would def get one. My grandpa always talked about him and it would be a good symbol of my Italian hertitage

Yes of course I would buy one, I would prefer they try to finish off some of the 80s essentials, it's a shame we don't have a JYD or studd. Mattel owes us fans a new snuka by the way, that legends snuka figure is possibly the most ill advised action figure in the history of action figures.

Probably have to be a really limited online exclusive, don't see them releasing this at retail, maybe if the legends line was still around. FB spots are few and precious and I would say there are plenty of better choices for now.

Yes definitely desired, by me at least. The figure would be awesome I could even picture it in my head right now LOL.
Similar to Jakks, with the blue trunks, chest hair, but a much better headscan, and a one of a kind torso mold that would show off Sammartino's strong body (N/H).
Mattel, make it happen. It'll sell, I can see the future!

If Akeem and Kevin Von Erich can sell and not be shelf warmers, then I'm sure Bruno, who's going to be getting a lot of coverage in the coming months, would do just fine. Especially if he comes with a belt. I've been aching to make one too! You use the Zeke body? I've thought that might be a good one, him or Brock Lesnar (especially since Lesnar has the thicker legs) and less repainting for skintone Zeke and Lesnar have the same body

Especially if he comes with a belt. I can still grab both of those at my TRU right now. Plus, those figures came out when Mattel was in an entirely different mindset with Legends. With space being limited for Flashback figures, I think Mattel is far less likely to take those kind of risks now. Not saying it couldn't happen, anything is possible, but I think it seems very unlikely. I still think doing guys like Bruno in the Basic line makes a ton of sense. He wouldn't be as expensive to produce, wouldn't take up a FB spot, and you could pack him 1 per case. It minimizes risk all the way around and since they seemingly have the parts it would really only take a new scan. I know that isn't ideal for Legends collectors but would you rather have no Bruno or a Basic version? I think it could work.

If Akeem and Kevin Von Erich can sell and not be shelf warmers They couldn't. And those are guys who were in the WWF during the Hogan global boom period. Aside from maybe 200 of us hardcore figure collectors on this site, the fanbase for a Bruno Sammartino doll is 50+ year old guys from New York. How many of those would be interested in wrestling dolls? Almost zero. And it's not exactly a colourful, exciting figure that would catch the eye of a casual buyer/parent/kid. Pjm's custom looks perfect to me, though.

I would love a figure of Bruno - but can't seen him being made unless it's as an online/limited exclusive. And of course then everyone would complain that he's too expensive...

Pjm's custom looks perfect to me, though. Kevin Von Erich was never in the WWF. In all my recent travels across numerous states and retailers, I haven't seen an Akeem or Kevin in months. And Bruno wrestled well into the late 80s and was still a bigger name then than Akeem ever was.

My bad, I read it as Kerry. Didn't realise someone was suggesting Kevin was a hot seller. I assume the guy was probably joking then.
Bruno wrestled very sporadically into the late 80s, for things like trying to get his son over. Didn't really work. The fans of the Hogan era were a whole new breed and nobody really cared about Bruno anymore, so he couldn't get his son over. There are still lots of people of toy-buying age that grew up with VHS' that had Akeem on the front and with an Akeem Hasbro toy. The Bruno Sammartino generation, for the most part, don't buy dolls -- they're a little older than the nostalgia craze, and never grew up playing with WWF wrestling dolls like the generations since then.

I'm a big Bruno fan but I have the Jakks figure which I think is a good figure. He basically stuck with the blue during his career and I don't see what WWE could add to have me buy his figure.
Like I said he's awesome and his figure would be cool but like many that collected Jakks I'll just keep the one I got and wait on something else.
However, with Bruno, I think it would need to be a 1 every other box elite or something as he won't appeal to the kids.
