elite 19 is def one of the best waves mattel has released. but it is not without its flaws.... the biggest one that bothers me and by all means chime in if im wrong but daniel bryan while not as chiseled as dolph is at least as big and his figure should not be so much thinner/smaller than dolphs. further, the dolph's thigh and arm pieces could work if mattel didnt already establish a scale with other parts used for other figures that makes their use with dolph pretty ridiculous to me. IMAG0648 by bharrisfan, on Flickr havent opened liz yet but her scan looks pretty cartoony from the package hopefully it'll play better out of package. hbk is so freakin awesome. and i was nervous about it from the pics. the scan is better in person. of course the figure misses chest hair, knee pads and the necklace--which wouldve been a cool add on. but man the next flashback hbk should be perfect if they get it a little more accurate. kane is flawless other than the paint being a little goopy/sloppy (dbry's paint quality seems a little cheap too). brock is perfect except for the kneepads that dont fit or work right. i need to try a different size on there anyway a great effort from mattel...lookin fwd to elite 20 OK that was messed up. You criticize every figure in the set, and finish by saying Great Effort from Mattel??? WTF?!

There will always be minor imperfections, but the fact is that this is easily the best set that Mattel has released thus far if you ask me.

KANE IS MISSING BOTH ELBOW PADS...it's a huge glaring costly innaccuracy to fix that no one seems to notice LMAO what a waste

I'm almost afraid to say this but MDT is seriously going down that route of bad parts-selection like Jakks were notorious for. It's not like MDT doesn't have a library of parts to choose from! They've got molds in some factory in China gathering dust while they over-use parts inappropriately.
Dolph is very cut and lean in real life so the torsos and hands make sense - it's his legs that are too thick on the toy and they could have gone with slimmer less-toned legs like Bulldog or Funk (in the appropriate skin colour plastic).
DBry has a rather thick torso in real life, he's shorter and a little sqwat. They don't have a dedicated torso for that, but the closest and most appropriate would be the Funk torso.
They really need to retire the small torso mold - it looks bad overall - E8 Edge shouldn't have it for example.
Kane should have been done with shiney boots and lord only knows why two elbow pads completely blew the budget for E19...
Liz is a disappointment to me on how she turned out. If she stayed on Mattycollector she would have been $20, instead she was packaged in an elite series and wont be out at retail for a few months. So I'm the fool that bought it for roughly $29 only to find that they completely reused previous diva molds - muscular arms and all - that are not appropriate for Liz. This is a one-time-in-the-line figure, couldn't they sculpt this one? Couldn't they ask the 4 horsemen for assistance? ugh...
HBK missing necklace, kneepads, and chest hair - again the budget was blown up by Dolph's vest apparently.
But think of all the money they saved NOT using Brock's sponsor logos...

I am not fond of Dolph's head sculpt, but have really warmed up to the Brock although I like the basic better.
The DB & Kane sculpts look great. HBK looks decent, but they still haven't quite nailed his younger look.
All in all, pretty good considering what they are and how they are produced.

^ totally agree.
that small torso is so gaunt it really applies to no pro wrestler ever i hate how they size some people up and some people down--it seems so arbitrary.
i really love the hbk flashback. but it sorely misses the chest hair and necklace. i really hate that dolph figure when i look at it because of its perfect deco that shouldve gone to hbk

Someone explain why Ziggler/Bryan are the same height in that picture please dbry and zigs were on uneven services...so dby is more in the foreground. ya zigs is taller--but thats not my issue. my problem was with zigs being thicker in every way when he in reality he's a few inches taller than dbry and both guys are billed at the same weight. so dbry should be much thicker

As for the set it has its positives and negatives just like any other. Kane's figure is absolutly brilliant just a shame about the missing elbow pads Brock's figure is Outstanding. The shirts hard to get on though Bryan's figure seems to be the wrong colour. Bad painting. Wrong parts used. It's ok but a bit of a letdown. Elizabeth's figure has grown on me and I like it. Her eyes seem to be too big but I see no major problems. Dolph's attire's great. Fantastic figure but I think the arms are a little too big when compared to other figures. HBK could have been handled a lot better and I'm hoping for a better one down the line. The attire is done fantastically but chest hair and a more personalised Head sculpt is needed. Better decisions were needed on what came with him. Great work by Mattel. I worry though how they keep mentioning costs been high to justify missing parts/details. I don't see how they can increase the price anymore and they can't let the quality go down. They have taken away a lot and increased the price many many times.

They have taken away a lot and increased the price many many times. See I respectfully disagree - the small torso has no place for any wrestler body-type. The cruiserweights and smaller guys like Sin Cara, Rey Rey, and even Ricky Steamboat have that small lean cut torso. Cody Rhodes in real life is very lean and cut and bigger than a Rey Rey or Sin Cara so if I was choosing an appropriate torso for him with what's available, i'd be looking at a torso like Drew or Rick Rude - it's bigger, cut, and very lean.

ya the rude torso is good for cody. if you look at rude at his physical peak he was ripped but exceptionally skinny. there is no one i can remember watching in 20+ years who had a thinner waist than rude.
and cody is a thicker guy now so it would work better for me. seriously now that im thinking about it we should be seeing that rude torso more often--not just on dolph. and right on--what happened to the funk torso for the thicker guys who arent as defined

Elite 19 is the best series yet as far as I'm concerned. But that doesn't come without it's downfalls, as with any set. I'm just so damn happy there was no Rey, Orton, Sheamus, Cena, Alberto, insert shelfwarmer here's in this Elite set.

beyond a shadow of a doubt Elite 19 is by far the best series Mattel has put out - 'First time in the line" figure, no repeat Ortons, Reys, Shaemuses or Cenas, and some very very popular names (Brock, Dolph). Plus it helped Mattel that WWE writers brought Bryan & Kane together just before this release - purely coincidental to have Bryan & Kane (new look) scheduled in.
But it has it's flaws and for me it's the parts choices that have me concerned the most, especially knowing that they have better parts available.

Its nothing new that Mattel picks the wrong parts. Not that they do it a lot, but often choose large kneepads when medium kneepads would be more accurate, then it ends up costing those who are trying to peice together a premium collection thats accurate.
I agree the skinny torso needs to be used less, I dont think it needs to be put out of commision, it worked well for HBK and Marty...

I'd rather Ziggler not have come with the shirt cape & vest, and just had come with a cloth pink show off shirt Why does Kane not have elbow pads? No belts beside the Euro HBK doesn't have full entrance attire

I don't have any of them yet.....so from pics....the thing that annoys me most is the red paint they used for Bryans attire.
Maybe its not so bright in person, but idk.....it should look way darker.
