The Samu on the left looks frightening - mega scary.
but all joking aside - I've looked at the pic quite a few times, and I personally find it rather difficult to tell if thats a prototype or faded due to sunlight. Tricky one to call.

The one on the right is a first shot.
Hasbro were ready to roll with this one, until someone said.....Wait a minute! The Headshrinkers are not caucasian! So they changed the plastic colour to represent the right skin tone.
So you have a very nice, and very rare figure there.

I have a loose Samu, and a Samu MOC aswell - later on today I might check both skin colours on the figures.
if I see anything of any significance on them I will upload the pics.

I have checked both my MOC Samu and loose one - nothing exciting to report - they are both the usual, standard ones that were released.

Thanks for the help and advice guys. Much appreciated! I wish it was mine. lol.. I was actually asking for a friend of mine who has it in her collection. She brought it to my attention and asked if I've ever seen one like this. and why it looked like that. She'll be excited. Thanks again for all the help!!

OP - tell her to keep that figure - that is a very rare looking Samu - I had never seen a Samu look like that before, until you uploaded that pic. And I've been collecting hasbros since I was a kid - I'm a 29 year old collector now.
of course, if she wants a lot of cash for it - by all means she can auction it - but I'd personally keep it.
