Jordan was not some marketing brand that got pushed into the lime light like LeBron is. He would have won titles with or without Pippen. You obviously know nothing about sports or basketball. 1) Every star needs another star (or more) to win. That is why guys like Stockton, Malone, Ewing, Barkley, etc... didn't win. They didn't have the help or other teams had MORE help. If you look at pretty much every championship team in the NBA, they all have 2 or more stars. Magic & Co, Bird & Co, The Spurs, Shaq/Kobe, The Big 3 (Boston and Miami). AND YES, PIPPEN AND JORDAN. 2) Pippen is an all time great and one of the 50 greatest to ever play the game. He was sound in all facets of the game. 3) Jordan and his brand were arguably the FIRST in any sport to go global. And to answer the OP... I am torn like a couple other guys. I loved Jordan as a kid and was super thrilled when he played, no matter the team or age of Jordan. However, looking back on it now... it is sad to see him "old" and with a different team.

I may seem crazy on this, but I almost think of the Wizards era Jordan as the one I'd like to remember. Why you ask? Obviously Jordan will always be remembered for the 6 Championships, scoring titles, all defense, gold medals, etc., but when it comes to the man himself, and everything he stood for, I think his Wizards days are the ones I'll remember the best. I don't know if anyone here has seen the film "Michael Jordan To The Max", it's a great film documenting his last season with the Bulls, meanwhile also telling his story in between scenes of the playoffs that year. In the film there's a scene that always stuck to me, and it's when they discuss his baseball days. A reporter from a Chicago Paper was asked about Jordan in Baseball and this was his response: "I asked Michael what was his average day like, and he would always say 'When I get up to go to spring practice, it's early and no one is usually on the roads yet, and on the way to practice I look at the seat next to me and I see my dad, and I always say we're doing this dad', and that's when they put him on the cover of Sports Illustrated and said he was embarrassing the game. I thought to myself if you ever have kids, I hope they grow up to embarrass you like this." That always stuck with me, regardless what people thought or how he performed, he was dedicated enough, and wanted it enough to give it his all. Baseball is a lot like the Wizards era of his career. He was slower, older, and had passed his prime. But he wanted it enough to do it anyway, no matter what people thought. To me, that's what Michael Jordan is all about.

Fantastic post heat6. Great way to look at it honestly. I'll have to check out that documentary. You can find the DVD at Target and FYE, I got mine for like $6 in a clearance bin. I bought a second copy at Big Lots for $3. And here's the full clip I was referring to, I highly recommend watching it. One of the most motivating videos you will ever watch. The full movie is probably on YouTube somewhere.

Dumbest post on this site. Jordan needed Pippen as much as Pippen needed Jordan. Theres a reason Jordan kept getting his a** kicked in the playoffs during the 80s by the Pistons and Celtics. It wasn't until Pippen and Grant began to hit their primes that the Bulls dominated the league.
In the NBA, its almost a fact that a star cannot win titles on their own. Hakeem Olajuwon, and Dirk Nowitzki to a lesser extent, are the only players to have done it on their own in the modern era. Bill Walton did it once in the 70s, but there are really no other examples of a player winning a title on their own.

It takes a superstar, and some help. I honestly don't understand why people give LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, etc. a hard time about teaming up, when Jordan had Pippen (Hall of Famer), he couldn't have done it on his own. No one can.

The differance is that Jordan and Pippen never gave up on their teams. Jordan got his a** kicked for years before Pippen was dratfed. And even after that it still took them years to build the chemisty needed to win. Both were great players who stuck together to build amazing chemisty (when they played together its like they knew eachother like the back of their hands). When they began to dominate they never acted entitled to anything like Lebron and Wade do. Hell, Lebron is still complaining to fans to this day (he claims they don't appretiate he didn't take a max contract when he forgets the fact that he is a friggin multi-millionare over and over). Even Kobe didn't just up and quit the Lakers when they were bad for years. Can't compare the loyalty and respect for the game Jordan and Pippen had to the lack of respect and egos that Lebron and Wade have.

He was still very productive during those Wizards years, so that was cool to see. To me, the shot he hit against Utah to win ring #6 was what I remember as his last great moment.
