Tully's head sculpt looks fantastic - I'm a bit disappointed with MDT essentially using the same exact body just a different head - kind of lazy when you consider these figures cost nearly $30 shipped. Glad I did my fix-ups to Arn so he looks a little different, I can keep Tully the way he is. oh come on now, there's a little white "TB" on the trunks, stars on his boots and the chest hair is darker! Surely that's worth the extra $$ right there It's a nice figure, I just cannot justify paying that much. I'm thinking I may just wait until Tully is released and order all 4 Legends (DDP, Bundy, Arn, Tully) at once so I'll at least save a little on shipping. or just wait a year when they are on Ebay for $10

Amazing collection sir....... What tag belts did you use for LOD & the Brain Busters? The NWA tag belts that Marvel made for TNA. Wish the straps were dark blue, but that's nitpicking. I don't really associate Tully and Arn with the WWf tag straps, though they did have a decent run and tremendous bouts with the Rockers and Hart Foundation. Cheers! Let's not forget their run against Demolition in Wwe too!

Let's not forget their run against Demolition in Wwe too! Demo's getting my old-school WWF tag belts. Shame that Tully's WWF run was really his last hurrah. Vince had big plans for them to continue as champs but when Flair and Ole arranged to get them back in WCW for guaranteed money, WWF did their best to bury them, as they dropped the belts to Demo and then lost in convincing fashion to the Rockers on Saturday Night's Main Event, which led to Bobby Heenan firing them and calling Tully and Arn the "worst team" he'd ever managed. Of course, Tully and Arn were screwed from that point on, as Vince dug up an old failed test for cocaine that Tully had on his record, which caused that idiot running WCW (Jim Herd to be exact...several idiots ran that place over time) to pull Blanchard's offer...and then knock 80 grand off Arn's deal because he "wasn't as valuable without Tully." Tully was backstage in Texas when the Horsemen turned heel and knocked Sting out of the group because Herd has supposedly had second thoughts and was going to sign him anyway. When Tully arrived in Corpus Christi, the deal was for about $125,000 less than the original offer and he refused to sign. Damn shame--would have loved one last run for Tully as a Horseman.

Surely that's worth the extra $$ right there The body is actually perfect for Tully but not so much for Arn. Though, indeed, Tully at the very least does have more chest hair and it is darker, and the stars are on his boots. If they had only included the jackets, no one would be complaining as the scans for both are spot-on. Again, that's a big "if." Tully and Arn almost always wore those black BrainBusters jackets to the ring during their WWF run. Of course, the half-red/half-white trunks (their SummerSlam attire vs. the Hart Foundation) might have been better attire choice but I guess Mattel wanted them in black to differentiate them from the multiple Jakks versions.

Tully looks fantastic. Wonder if the Jakks robe would be too big?
Hopefully Barry Windham is next.

holy crap! it's my friend Scott Bowden!!! I just put two and two together from your sig - yes I'm THAT slow lol. I'm the guy with the NWA Kerry Von Erich fix-up you used in one of your awesome blog entries! Wonder if you saw my Arn fix-up: Hey there. Yeah, great job--I thought I recognized your handiwork. Do you plan on doing something similar with Tully? I still love your Kerry fix-up with the tights he wore in memory of David. Speaking of which, did you the see the Kerry robe that I had made by "he who shall not be named"? (the same "In Memory of David" robe Kerry wore to the ring when he beat Flair for the 10 Pounds of Gold)

Tully looks fantastic. Wonder if the Jakks robe would be too big? I'll let you know later today--maybe use the silver WWF Rocky III-style belt for the NWA TV title....

I think of Tully being in red primarily, but looks like even in the NWA his second big color was black. Now the real question for me is do I leave it or try and make a red version?
So glad to see Tully's shorter than Arn. One of my favorite aspects of the line is the attention to scale.

yes as long as Tully was shorter than Arn I didn't care that they used the same torso...so I'm glad to see he's shorter

Find it funny that his memorable moment listed on the back of the packaging highlights the Chi-Town Heat "Dusty finish" in the Road Warriors' "hometown" at Starrcade '87, which killed Chicago for Jim Crockett Promotions and, really, was the beginning of the end until Ted Turner bailed them out in '88. By the way, for those of you too young to recall the "Dusty finish"...check this out (includes highlights of the Tully/Arn debacle vs. Roadies at Starrcade '87). kentuckyfriedwrestling.com/theword2/three-count-and-a-cloud-of-dust-wrestlings-dreaded-dusty-rhodes-finish/
