If you think scalpers in your area are bad wait until you read about these 2. A man and his mother, over the course of a few months stole 2 Million dollars in toys. They would go into a Toys R Us with an accomplice and use a method called stuffing. They'd grab a inexpensive item in a large box and empty it somewhere hidden in the store. Then they'd stuff smaller more expensive toys in the box, reseal it, and pay only the price for the one boxed item. Then they would sell the toys on ebay for a 100 % profit. He was caught when an investigator tracked his Rewards card and saw that he went to 139 TRU's in 27 states in less than 3 months. Heres the original article. www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/11/michael-pollara-margaret-pollara-toy-thefts_n_1768114.html?utm_hp_ref=weird-news&ir=Weird%20News

and the funniest thing about this, is how stupid he was to use his rewards card. if your gonna steal, be smart about it. leave no paper trail. Jeez

My laptop went berzerk when I clicked on the link, as it brought me to some website asking me to upgrade my internet browser (which is okay btw). After that, I could not close down that website anymore,so I had to turn off my laptop by hand >:
Edit:
It's a a real shame that some people nowadays have no common decency anymore....I mean, stealing toys, c'mon, really?

DIdn't we see a post like this about a year or so ago? Where they showed pics of the people's van and there were tons of toys stuffed in it. Obviously a different story but quite similar.
EDIT: I clicked the link and it worked just fine.

Scared to click the link after CC had some problem with it. Yeah, I remember this story. In the pic of the van, you could see that it was stuffed from top to bottom with all different kinds of toys....pathetic really that people have the urge to do this!

The system they had , must of worked very well. These people were raping TRU. How did management miss this on the camera ?? Just seems like they went in , opened a box , stuffed it , and checkdout..
Seems like someone wouldve seen or heard. but then again maybe not.

Seems like someone wouldve seen or heard. but then again maybe not. I had a friend who worked TRU (and to be honest it's like this at most retail). The cameras in the store are dummy cameras except for the ones pointed at the doors and registers. I've worked several jobs where this was also the case. Corporate thinks that the theft is always the employees fault, even when the crooks have elaborate sytems like the one in this article to get away with theft without a trace, or like my last job when I worked with only myself and a manger in a big store that had a lot of foot traffic, busy work, and was way too big to monitor properly with two people.

Yea i figured that.. id be interested to know how many times they went into the same TRU's , and the fact they traveled all over is kinda crazy.. But i guess if thats your only means of money probaly then they had to go elsewhere in the US.

Here bro, let the noob help ya out.. The article does not belong under the Mattel thread. This board is for talking about Mattel related figures (WWE, DC, Barbie, Hot Wheels etc) This should go in the General Discussion I do believe, as i posted something the other day in the wrong thread and got this same message and worse from members. I can't believe all the posters above forgot the rule.

It has nothing to do with Mattel , ur right , however it does have to do with TRU which is one of the main hubs for Mattel. So this post isnt totally off base man. Even a MOD commented .

Stuff like this is part of the reason why the prices of stuff at TRU keeps going up, up, up.
