I'll bet $100 that any kid under 10 years old does not know who Magnum TA is. I am 23yrs old and I don't really have a fond memory of this guy from any wrestling events. I have watched alot of VHS's when I was younger and never saw him. The first time I heard about the guy was in the Rise and Fall of WCW dvd.

Its mainly because when we watch something like Wrestling, football or baseball...I want him to know the history and legacy of the sports. I want him to know the Magnum TAs, Joe Montana's and Cal Ripkins. I hate when all these young kids just think they know everything about a subject when in reality they know nothing.

Magnum TA is more the Al Toon

I know Al Toon and he was very well know. I wasn't a Jets fan, so maybe it's because I grew-up in NJ but he was very well known here.

It would rot on shelves, I think. He had a few years playing for "the other guys" at the time the WWF took off, and that was it. He's barely ever been reference on WWE TV. If the Legends line was successful, he'd warrant a place. But as it is, when they struggled to sell even pretty big WWF names, an old Crockett guy who retired in '86 should not be put out.

Do you think these fictional 10 year olds have fond memories of Papa Shango and that's why he got a fig?

Magnum was a guy I read about often in PWI as a kid. I'd buy multiples, one to keep for display and others for customs and fix ups

I started watching wrestling around 1989-1990 and read the Apter mags pretty heavily. He was still talked about in a super high regard in those mags, so to me, he was this legendary, mythical figure that, for some reason, never happened to be on any of the tapes I rented. I did get to see him do some announcing for WCW in the early '90s, so that was my first real exposure to him. It wasn't until much later that I got to see his work. He definitely lived up to the Hogan comparison - not really a technical wizard, but he had the "it factor" in spades, and man, was he over. I'd buy a figure. It'd be awesome just to see him finally get one.

Good to see Magnum get mentioned on WWE.Com as part of the 20 greatest superstars to never win a world title. Also listed were guys like Ted DiBiase, Arn Anderson, Junkyard Dog and Jesse Ventura
