Here is the straight deal. Since we firstr began producing the Elite line the production costs on soft goods have gone through the roof. In order to avoid having to raise our MSRPs we have had to have been more selctive with who we can inlcude soft goods with. As a big fan of soft goods this is not a development I particularly welcome but one I have to work with in mind. It is particularly challenging to inlcude a soft good with a figure like a CM Punk, who is already expensive to produce due to his large amount of deco needed to reproduce accurately. It is at the point where going forward we will not likely be able to inlcude soft shirts with CM Punk. Going forward we will include soft goods where we deem it most appropriate to use, such as Mankind's Mr Socko, and using plastic accessories as well. The plastic shirt was an attempt to create an accessory that could eventually replace the need for a cloth shirt, but we are not as satisfied with it as we would have want to be and will be using it sparingly going forward. Miz shirt is a plastic shirt because we could not order the red fabric needed to make is as a soft good in timew for the wave to ship to retail, We are continuing to try to develop a more satisfactory plastic shirt to replace the existing one. Thanks Bill

Thanks Bill Has the idea of selling SOFT shirts for CM PUNK or say Zack Ryder and other Popular superstars separately been discussed? Like maybe a accessory pack? For CM PUNK (BITW soft shirt, pipe bomb, a custom stand, chair, megaphone etc...) Maybe this could be a way to continue offering these for the people who hate the rubber shirts (me) and want their collection to stay consistent with soft goods. It works for Barbies, maybe it can work for wrestling figs also. JMT.

wow. I just thought they didn't have shirts on time for display. I was sure Kofi and Punk would have their shirts. So no more plastic shirts for now??
I wish they could just do one. I hate having cloth shirts and plastic in the same collection...it looks odd. Either give me all cloth or all plastic.
How is money always an issue w/ the elite line? Mattel made BILLIONS of dollars last year. They have enuff money to do Brawlin Buddies, Basics, Rumblers, Rumblers Ipad games and Flex-Force figures.
sometimes i wish they would cancel all that stuff and just work on the elite line. Instead they cancel things like legends, defining moments, entrance greats and the heritage series. I never hear about any Flex-force things being cancelled

Instead they cancel things like legends, defining moments, entrance greats and the heritage series. I never hear about any Flex-force things being cancelled It's the budget for the line. Not Mattel's overall bottom line. Getting rid of every other line wouldn't effect the price of Elite figures. When Mattel are making the figures they have to factor in how much the stores are going to buy them for. The stores then need to make their profit. Now, I have no idea on exact numbers so will just use make believe figures to get my point across; If you buy a figure at retail it will cost you £20.00 The store bought that single figure for £10.00 The single figure cost Mattel £7.00 to make. Now if Mattel wanted to add a cloth shirt to 1 figure in the wave, that would bump the price of that figure to £8.00, thus reducing the profit Mattel makes. So I don't quite know what you think it would achieve if Mattel did drop all the other WWE lines. I'd also just like to point out that I am a big fan of the cloth t-shirts and hate the rubber/plastic ones used on Orton and the new Miz figure. EDITED because I forgot to reply to your last paragraph. Mattel cancelled those lines because they didn't sell. Now we can go round in circles over why they didn't sell, but at the end of the day, not enough people bought them. Flex Force MUST be doing well enough for the line to keep running because if it wasn't, the stores wouldn't buy more stock and Mattel wouldn't make more figures.

Yeah that's one place I will say that Jakks killed mattel on. Jakks always came with accessories, RA or deluxe, and usually they were pretty good. Yeah towards the end they got lazy and we pretty much got chairs and cookie trays, but realistically 95% of the weapons/accessories I still use came from my Jakks. Heck Jakks accessories and playsets compiled over time are enough to creat an entire arena and backstage area. I've been working on my arena the past few years and pick up stuff on ebay when I can, but I've got a backstage area, a parking lot/dumpster area, an interview area and a GM office. If you had every set Jakks made you could make a locker room, loading dock, cafeteria, gym, etc. Can I see your set up, please?

They really made up for it with other better accessories if ya ask me. Brodus Clay comes with his entire Jump Suit, hat and chain, Jerry Lawler got his crown and Wrestlemania attire, Dolph Ziggler has his new vest AND Shirt around his waist, Mankind comes with Socko and what looks to be a removable mask, Kelly Kelly is getting a painted Divas title and looks to be removable arm sleeves, Ryder gets shades, head band and Internet Title, Wade Barrett gets his entrance coat over the shoulders. Sounds to me like they almost exceeded the budget with accessories and hooked us up with way better stuff. If you want a T Shirt, hit up ralph. Id rather hit Ralph up for a $8 T shirt rather then having to hit him up for a $17 bigger coat or accessory, or not having the Internet Championship and stuff at all.

I like the accessory pack idea. Jakks did it once and it was pretty cool just thought they used crap accessories. A CM Punk with title, microphone, shirt and chair or something would work.

I hope they're not getting rid of accessories like shirts to put in Build-a-Figures...I would have liked to see Punk with his t-shirt and Christian with the Brood shirt.

Well, at least there wouldn't be any stains anymore.
Looks like it's time to make full time orders to get shirts.

I wish there had been an elite 16 Punk runniing change/variant with a plastic shirt that had the designs on the back.

Last year we ended up getting shirts that weren't even shown with their figures at SDCC. I expect some more accessories coming that we never saw this week. Who did this happen with? I only remember some figures coming with less accessories than the slideshow (purple Cena with armband, Barrett's chair etc).
