I found Basic 16 at TRU today, first I'd seen them anywhere. I picked up Warrior, Eddie, Jack, and Taker. I passed on Cena because I don't need anymore of him, and on Triple H because I think it just looks stupid without "The Game" on his trunks.
It was a fresh case of 12, but after I bought my 4, there were 3 Cenas, 3 HHHs, and 2 Takers. I thought, man that's gonna suck for the next collector that finds them. I didn't buy the figures because they were one per case, they were the ones I wanted. I didn't tell Mattel to pack this thing 3-3-3-1-1-1. But I felt a little bummed that I got the good stuff.
Then again, I went to Wal-Mart and found the same 3 Rock/Cena 2-packs that were there a couple of weeks ago, with Sin Cara and the Bellas long gone. So I guess you need to take what you can get when you can get it.

First come first serve.
Unless you're a scalper, then you deserve to have your skin peeled off and dip your raw body in a tub of salt water.

The figures are there to be sold and it just so happens they were there when you got there and you wanted them so I don't get why you would feel bad about that.

Like mentioned above, its first come first serve. Why feel guilty about it when any other person would do the same thing and scoop up all the good ones and leave the crap for other collectors to suffer with. Everyone is a scalper though. No one wants to admit it, and everyone will throw hate towards scalpers but there is not one person on this board or in the world that picks up figures and sells them at cost all the time just to help ppl out. I dig through ebay, amazon, and classifieds and try making deals with ppl and its always the same. Someone is looking for at least $10 profit, 2-3 figures for your 1 etc. I actually respect the ppl who do it and admit it more than everyone who does it and hides it honestly. If people were really against scalping like ya hear a lot, there wouldn't be a list of 20 sellers on amazon and the bay with the same item for outrageous prices ya know.

I mainly only try to get what I need, more power to you if you have the money to buy all the good figures before the next guy.

Well normally I don't really want the harder to find figures. I usually end up wanting and getting the most stocked figure. For example I really want the Triple H you mentioned above and they just restocked my walmart with a ton of them. So once I get paid I will go and get one.
I think the only harder to find figure I've ever really wanted was E14 The Rock. Which took me forever to find but once I finally found it and bought it. It truly was worth the wait, it's easily one of my favorite figures of all time.

I guess I've just been kind of lucky lately. Found all of Basic 18 at Target, a fresh case (they were all gone today). Found this fresh Basic 16 case today, and have found fresh cases of Basic 17 and Elite 14 lately.
Then again, there are some people who have found BOPVV Bret and the Bellas and some RRH figs that I've never seen, so it's not all roses. I guess it really comes down to Mattel making crap case packs.
Did they think the Ultimate Warrior or Eddie won't sell? I never saw the Legends Eddie in stores. Did they think people wanted 3 times as many Cena/HHH/Taker as Warrior/Eddie/Swagger? Cuz they don't.
Thanks guys I feel no more guilt. I just wish we could all find the figs we want to buy, since things have gotten so weak lately. And I didn't buy any of them to scalp - I hate that crap.

Yeah...if you're buying them for your personal collection then I see no problem with it at all. It's the people that buy them strictly for resale that annoy the crap out of me. Now I can't say that I haven't bought a figure at retail strictly for resale because I would be lying. But I've passed up on many a "rare" figure and left it for someone else to find.

Why would I? If you don't pick up things you want, why bother even looking. That would just be stupid.
"Yay, I finally found Yoko!...Oh, but it's one per case. Perhaps I should leave it here so someone else can find it. I am sure they will leave it as well until some kid finds it and buys it. That would be swell."

To be honest, Ive never bought anything for resell purposes only. Maybe to help someone on the boards out but even then I only charge what it cost me plus shipping. Anytime Ive ever resold anything (as in upgraded to a new figure or didnt need something anymore) Ive only asked for my money plus shipping costs out of it.
