Have you been living under a rock? This is what everyone has been discussing for months now. Yes we understand Mattel putting out for Cena, Orton's and Rey's because those guys are popular. Problem is they don't sell as well as Mattel claims that they do. If they did they wouldn't always be sitting on the shelves. Every store I go into has Cena, Rey & Orton sitting on the shelves. The problem is Mattel is overproducing Cena, Orton & Rey while under producing some of the other guys. Obviously Mattel's logic of Cena, Orton & Rey's selling well is flawed or they wouldn't be sitting on the shelf. I think Mattel underestimates how many kids would buy a guy like Cody Rhodes especially with the mask and paper bag.

The thing is, NOBODY is buying these Cenas, Reys, and Ortons. Not the collectors and not the kids. My TRU has sold MAYBE 2 out of their 15+ BOPPV Cenas in the past 2 months.

Ok a complainer complaining about complainers, did I get that right?
I love to complain, it is my freedom of speech so I will not stop and as far as being the minority for people who buy these figures here is the big question. Why did I see a kid buying a Hunico yesterday over a Cena, Orton, Mysterio? Because the parents probably told the kid that he could pick out the toy he wants and he actually thought "well I have 2-3 of all these other guys why not buy this one cause I don't have him and I DON'T NEED ANY MORE OF THE OTHERS.
If we are the minority of figure buyers and these other lines are aimed at kids (Flex Force, Rumblers) then why don't these sell so much better? Kids buy things just like adults do in some cases, I know when I was a kid I would look for figures I didn't have and not buy millions of repaints.

My problem isn't the line ups, it's the distribution. I can only find rumblers and extremely old flexforce

Looks to me like the kids aren't buying the Cenas and the rest either, or they wouldn't be warming the shelves.

My younger cousins would rather have the "new guys" then Cena, Orton, Rey. They want Jinder Mahal so they can get Kane to chokeslam him through tables.

My TRU has a thousand unsold Cena from the following series, blocking any new figures from being stocked
Survivor Series Heritage Extreme Rules Wrestlemania XXVII Best of 2011 Best of PPV Build a Set Signature Series BP13 BP15
This does not benefit the consumer at all unless those figures were put on clearance for 90 cents, but that would not benefit TRU since they would be losing money if they did that. It is a no-win situation for everyone

I understand marketing to children since they are toys but it seems to me that it's time for some change in production strategy/case breakdowns when you walk into most retail stores in the US and there is a 10 to 1 ration of John Cena toys to each child.

First off let me start off by saying Mattel produces the best wrestling figures ever with the most detail but the distribution sucks. Here is the thing I don't get about Mattel's logic that I'd love to see them answer. When I was a kid and I collected Batman, Power Rangers and later on wrestling figures I didn't only want "the good guys" but I also wanted to heels/villians because what was the fun of having the good guys if they couldn't beat up the "bad guys"? I don't get Mattel's logic because even as a kid I bought the heels/villians/bad guys whatever you want to call them. I'd understand producing more Cena's & Orton if they actually sold but they don't.
