A CARTER | HEYMAN | MCMAHON COLLECTIVE PROJECT
Perhaps some of the greatest news in the world of professional wrestling, the unthinkable has finally happened. After countless calls, meetings, and conferences, the three most dominant forces in professional wrestling have united. Until this day, all information has been withheld, but the time has finally come to make a public announcement in regards to professional wrestling’s newest project: THE WRESTLING DYNASTY.
It the fall of 2011, the consequences of not following through with ECW mastermind Paul Heyman’s plan to take creative control over the company became apparent to TNA owner, Dixie Carter. Eric Bischoff was doing his part behind the scenes, and was doing a fairly good job. Hogan was promoting the company on an international scale, but this was having little effect on viewer ship and sales. Dixie had finally realized that something needed to change, and she knew who to call, but not where to start.
After placing a call to Paul Heyman, she learned then that the former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Brock Lesnar was about to sign a contract with Vince McMahon’s WWE. This in turn meant that Heyman would be contracted as well. Feeling down on her luck, Dixie talked it over with her staff and decided to think on a new plan of action. This down time would prove to be a huge opportunity for Carter.
WWE brought in Heyman and Lesnar, and all things were going according to plan until an incident after a match with Brock and John Cena. Cena delivered an unscripted promo after a match (in which he was to be too badly beaten to walk, let alone talk). This enraged Lesnar and Heyman, and they were both ready to renig on their contracts. A clause in the contract guaranteed their release if unhappy at anytime, so they took advantage of this and exited the company.
Word of this got back to Dixie Carter, who quickly tried to scoop up Heyman and Lesnar. Lesnar agreed to the deal, but Heyman was a little more reluctant. He wanted the same deal he had suggested in 2010 that he didn’t receive. However; this time he got it. Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman were both members of the TNA team. The plans stood to bring Lesnar in at Bound for Glory with Heyman by his side. This too, would come to change.
Vince McMahon learned of the duo’s new found contract signing with TNA, and immediately made a call to TNA headquarters in Nashville, TN. McMahon so desperately wanted Heyman and Lesnar that he suggested the three meet at his office to discuss any opportunities the three could benefit from. Carter and Heyman agreed, and the three met in Connecticut.
As soon as they arrived, they were greeted by Vince, his wife Linda, and Jim Ross (who was returning to his position as Talent Relations). Two packets laid on the tables for Carter and Heyman to read over. Thinking this was a typical Vince McMahon scheme the two were hesitant, but quickly realized things were different when Vince folded his hands on the table, and asked them in earnest to “please look at this... it’s time,”. Carter and Heyman glanced at each other and opened the packets. What they read would change the wrestling world forever.
In the packet was an outline of a project signed by Vince and Ross, entitled “THE WRESTLING DYNASTY”. The project would unify the three companies, and provide them each with a 3 way split in control, and over profits. The deal would ensure that all of the best talent in the world saw equal opportunity, and that each company would now thrive as a whole. A selection would take place to determine what talent would make the final cut, and who would be sent home. This draft would take place on a special episode of TWD’s flagship show, “CONQUEST,” on July 2nd, 2012 . Carter and Heyman would appear and the roster would be finalized. In addition, titles would be unified, the show, entitled “CONQUEST” would take the place of Monday Night Raw, and new PPV’s would be held, although only six would happen per year.
After going over a few of the smaller details, Carter and Heyman signed the most controversial, important deal in professional wrestling’s history. Three of the most prolific wrestling minds ever, creating one product to shine in the world of wrestling. The rest is history to be made...
