Just wondering if you can use a prepaid Visa credit card, the kind you can add money too whenever you want, for paypal? I don't have a credit card, nor do I want one, but I'd like to buy stuff from RSC or from members on here and was wondering if I could use the Visa prepaid for that. If not is there some other prepaid or reloadable card like that that will work?

You have to be careful. I added one to my account the other day and then Paypal locked it. I called to ask about it and they said they are cracking down on prepaid cards since they are hard for them to trace. In the event you use one but then want a refund, they can't refund the cards, which has lead to complaints, even though it isn't their fault. They told me that to unlock my account I had to agree to not add another one. I would say you have nothing to lose to try, but if they lock it you will have to call and go through what I did.

Get a Green Dot Moneypak. Those are designed to be used with Paypal, and you load them just like a pre-paid credit card.

While on the subject of Paypal, I haven't used it before, but am getting some money through it in a trade. Does the funds go the the account itself, or the card connected to your PP account?

It's $5 per load, so if you do decide to go with that option, I'd load a good amount of money onto it. You also have to verify your info to expand your yearly limit (the limit's $250 per year without verification, so this is pretty much necessary). But, the good thing about it is that you can just immediately load all of the money from the card directly to your Paypal account, and spend it at your leisure without having to deal with the card again until you need to load more money.

Thanks. I'll use it for RSC/Mattelshop/TRU.com purchases then, and of course for trades.

You actually don't need to connect your pre paid card to PayPal to order from RISC or Marty shop. Just put the info in like a regular credit or debt card. I was more worried about buying from eBay or from people on here.

Can I use the moneypack thing in a store for just a general purchase like a credit card because from what I understand from looking at the website you can't. Maybe I'm wrong but if not then I'll be going with the prepaid Visa so I can use it in the store.

Yeah you can't use a moneypack card in any store. They are just used to transfer funds to your paypal account.
