Can I suggest using a flat base coat? The reason being is it "receives" the paint better than semi-gloss/satin. Better adherence means less coats, which inevitably will promote a more factory figure. I'd also recommend spraying a lot less of a primer coat. Think of a primer coat as a dust coat. Some, if not most of the under color will show, but the primer coat helps to even the surface--not eliminate it. for sure. Im working with limited supplies, but the spray should be fine. I'm more worried about my freehand work. I would also recommend a flatter base. This worked fine though. Do you ever lightly sand? If so, what grit? Fair enough! I never sand unless I sculpt and need to remove seams between the figure and the sculpted area. I always buy a variety and start at the coarser grit and move to the finer.

D.B.K. - Lex looks great! Is it just the Luger head and boots on a Triple H body with Acetoned designs?

@ziggyfigs D.B.K. Looks good brotha I'm just about to start parts purchasing for my Halloween havoc 90 Luger. He wore orange when he dropped the strap to Hansen, so I'm going to clean off L6 Warrior. Pop & swap lex head, calves/boots & hands and add Savage arms and medium black pads. Just hoping the orange trunks are the right shade

Hey guys, dont know if anyone remembers me starting a '97 Lord of Darkness Undertaker a while back... well i have a new endevour. Ministry Undertaker. Now i am far too cheap to get the SDCC Taker, and whilst it is a perfect figure for what it depicts, it isnt the look i instantly associate with Ministry Taker, for me, that would be this look. i43.tinypic.com/9ruals.jpgNow for some reason, it looks really rough in these photos, but it isnt in person... i will try and get some better ones done tomorrow. Not sure which Taker figure was the base, but it uses the E8 Taker scan Everything looks great but that 98 Taker (full shirt) is the one Im stoked to see! Excellent sculpt so far!

Would a Christian figure with E17 Cena arms work for Benoit or would the torso be too small? I'd ideally like to use a Pillman figure but unfortunately I never bought one and don't feel like spending $35 for a loose one on eBay just to do a fixup.

The Christian torso is way too small. You should use elite 20 Christian tights, and maybe even a cena torso

Is that the next best torso to use other than Pillman for Benoit?

I don't think it'd look right -- but the Pillman body wouldn't either. Benoit had a weird body, he had big arms but they were also creepy little midget arms so they never really dwarfed his thick torso like the Cena/Christian combo might do. The Christian torso isn't ripped enough, either. Evan Bourne torso with Cena arms and Christian lower legs would work, but Bourne has that belt on his tights and skintones might be off. Maybe a Ziggler elite with the legs swapped out for Christian legs would work. Although Benoit had those weird little short legs that were way smaller than his upper body, so maybe it should be the Elite 32 Rey Mysterio legs and Christian boots. Ultimately, it just depends how accurate you want it to be. You could just pop a Benoit head on the Christian figure, repaint the tights and it'd look close enough for a lot of people.

I agree he had a weird body.

I know what you mean. I'd ideally like to make it look as accurate as possible, but I don't want to be spending tons of money on parts, either. I had a spare E17 Cena and E11 Christian I was trying to find a use for and that's when I originally started thinking of doing a Benoit custom.

I think that'd be the best, and I would stick to cena arms. And for the tights, I'd use an elite 20 Christian. Especially if you're going for the common yellow look

I'd definitely go Stone Cold torso.

I'm trying to make a Muhammad Hassan, does anyone have Rock's skin tone but with shorts instead of trunks? Or even Del rio skin tone.

Is he the only one that they've used that torso for or does anybody else have the Austin torso?
