I have central air and could not think of living without it.

No central air for me. It's not all that common for homes in Maine to have it, though.
My parents had intentions of installing it when we built the house in 2004, but it was an extra $10,000 that they deemed unnecessary, and while sometimes I certainly wish we had it, I can't blame them for not spending the money.
We have two window large window units. We used to have them both upstairs, but this year we moved one downstairs because it was getting so hot down there. Keeps the majority of the house cool, at least enough to be comfortable when sleeping.

Yes. It gets so hot and humid here, it's almost impossible to not have it without being completely miserable. Same here. 98 today + high humidity.

Hell yes! I loves me some central air conditioner. I hate to be hot and I hate to sweat, especially at night. I like to be cool, on the verge of being cold, at night.

It's been over 100 every day and was 110 on Sunday. Sunday night it was 10 pm and it was still over 100 degrees outside. Today it's supposed to be 102-105 depending on who you talk to with a head index as high as 108.

I do not have central air. My house is ready for central air , I have the vents in the walls which are used for the heater, but no central ac.
I do have a window unit. I got the biggest Window Ac I could get that would run on 110 volt wall sockets. It was the first major appliance I got with the wifey. I had purchased the fridge/stove/bed with out her so she was pretty excited to shop with me. In the end though I didnt get it from any of the stores we went shopping, I got it online.
Ac is a must for me. I am a person who reacts poorly to hot weather and I sweat my tush off at work so when I get home I like the house to be cool so I can relax.
