Mubarak has been in power since Reagan, back in 1981. As funny as it may sound, Al Franken is a champion for open and free internet. I hope he stands up and takes on the kill switch. Omar Suleiman will be the next President of Egypt. Mubarak has appointed him to be the Vice President, the first VP since Mubarak took over. Someone needs to defeat the kill switch. This administration might not use it. The next one might not use it either. That doesn't say it won't be used 20-30 years down the road. Exactly. They put it in place now because people don't seem to really care. They couldn't put it in place then because everyone would know. "Better" to do it while there is ignorance. OTE, you're welcome. This needs to happen everywhere people are being oppressed. May 19, thank you for the link, PressTV was posted earlier not Al-Jazeera. Also, people here seem to think that if something doesn't effect them directly then it isn't worth them paying attention to. Of course it will effect us all eventually but the people not paying attention will start paying attention too late. Bryan, if they tried to start something here, I'd be right there with you. Finally, 4LK, I laughed.

Sh*t like this is why I want to get into politics, to give this country the change it needs, or die trying.

I should have been asleep hours ago, but watching news and seeing everything being discussed on reddit, and now fellow Wfers...it's almost impossible.

Fight the good fight, don't let them silence you, demand your rights!

The Kennedy quote pretty much summed that up. A violent dictatorship is redundant. I haven't known any dictatorships to not be violent. So I am just restating the obvious by putting violent. The Kennedy quote was fantastic.

They say JFK was the last true president, I've listened to his speeches, he admits that his people have been oppressed, and lied to, so they silenced him. Good luck silencing thousands upon thousands of pissed off citizens.

Over 100 have been killed since yesterday and over 2000 injured.
I know I can't do much here in America to support those doing this so I am doing my part by informing people about it.

Look at the comments on the Revolution videos. They're gaining support from people in countries around the world, and the word of mouth is the most powerful tool any person has.

Every citizen of the World needs to send a message to their government that if you try something, we'll go Egypt on your ass.

This is bad because Egypt is going to end up with a bunch of Muslim terrorists in power that will make Mubarak look like Santa Claus. The people of Egypt will regret their actions if the Muslim terrorists take over because there lives will be much worse.

"New VP Omar Sulaiman and PM Ahmed Shafiq are as Mubarak as Mubarak."
Meet your new boss. Same as the old boss.

When arguing something, give a credible source. So it's ok if people are oppressed as long as that oppression benefits the US? The Muslim Brotherhood started chanting Allah Akbar. As soon as they did, other Muslims and Christians started chanting "Muslim. Christian. We are all Egyptian." They don't want religion or anything else brought into this. They are poor, they are starving and they are being oppressed. That spans all religions. They are fighting for their lives. They may want to rule Egypt, but it doesn't seem the people want them to rule.
