BCA figures can still be used now in custom feds with wrestlers having custom gimmicks. Half of the time, even when the figures were newly purchased back in the 90's, I would still give them new names and movesets. Hardcore Holly was my WHC for a long time while fueding with The Patriot and Owen Hart. Good times.

Have you ever wondered just how many figure releases there were for your favorite wrestlers in the BCA line? Like, how many individual figures of one wrestler, repaints and re-releases alike (though not necessarily including variants or error figures), were made during the course of the line's run? You might never guess the actual order, nor would/should you care about such trivial facts and figures unless you're a complete BCA nerd like I am lol, so that's why I've done the work for you! Are you ready?!? (meaning, are you still awake?!?) We'll start with the easy ones, in alphabetical order. ONE
Blackjack Windham The Blue Blazer Bob Backlund Cameraman The Executioner Flash Funk Honky Tonk Man The Interrogator The Jackyl Jacqueline Jim "JR" Ross Jim Cornette Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw Kama Mustafa Luna (Vachon) Marlena The Patriot Rekon Sgt. Slaughter Skull The Sultan Viscera I'm debating whether Owen's Blue Blazer gimmick should be here or not. What do you guys think? Should it be included with his number of BCA releases or kept separate? You'll notice where I split The Interrogator from Kurrgann, Kama Mustafa from The Godfather, and Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw from Blackjack Bradshaw. I won't be doing the same for guys like Hunter Hearst Helmsley (as "HHH" or "Triple H") and Rocky Maivia (as "The Rock") because, well, I don't feel like it lol. Now, let's get back to the lists... TWO
Blackjack Bradshaw Brian Pillman Cactus Jack Chainz Christian Clarence Mason Debra McMichael(s) Dr Death (Steve Williams) Gangrel The Godfather Henry O. Godwinn Jerry "The King" Lawler Phineas I. Godwinn Razor Ramon Taka (Michinoku) Ultimate Warrior THREE
8-Ball Brian Christopher Dan "The Beast" Severn Diesel Kurrgann Shane McMahon "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman Sunny Yokozuna FOUR
Crush D'Lo Brown Paul Bearer Savio Vega Sycho Sid FIVE
British Bulldog Droz Farooq Referee Test Val Venis SIX
Ahmed Johnson Chyna Dude Love Headbanger Mosh Headbanger Thrasher Mark Henry SEVEN
Big Boss Man "Double J" Jeff Jarrett "The Big Show" Paul Wight EIGHT
Bob "Hardcore" Holly "Marvelous/Wildman" Marc Mero Owen Hart Road Warrior Animal Road Warrior Hawk Sable Vader NINE
Bret Hart Next, I'll run off the five names who missed the cut to make the illustrious Top Ten (with their number of BCA figure releases in parentheses). RUNNERS-UP
Al Snow (11) Goldust (11) Edge (12) Vince McMahon (12) Ken Shamrock (14) Finally, what you've all been patiently waiting for (or just woke up and scrolled down the page to find out), the ten wrestlers who received the most number of figure releases in the BCA line. Beginning with a two-way tie for number 10 (or number 9, depending on how you look at it)...
B.A. Billy Gunn & X-Pac (17)
Number 8...
Road Dogg Jesse James (18)
Number 7...
Mankind (21)
- All three of Foley's "faces" combine for a total of 29 figure releases.
A two-way tie for number 6 (or number 5, again depending on how you look at it)...
Kane & Shawn Michaels (23)
Number 4...
Triple H (30)
NUMBER 3...
The Rock/Rocky Maivia (41)
NUMBER 2...
The Undertaker (51)
And, without a shadow of a doubt, the frontrunner who is miles ahead of the pack, at NUMBER 1...
Stone Cold Steve Austin (82) You know what's crazy? There might be even more out there with Austin's name attached, but I've counted up to 82. Again, this list does not include variants or error figures, but it does include all figures in boxed sets, as well as exclusives. Oh, and I decided not to include S.T.O.M.P. Series 4 (because of the entirely different body sculpts) or any other non-BCA figure lines besides S.T.O.M.P. Series 1 through 3 and all of the Slammers figures. Thoughts on the list? Any surprises for you? If you have any questions about where the number of releases can be found in which series for any of the above mentioned names, just ask and I'll elaborate. I hope everyone enjoys the list. 9/7/11 Update: Debra was added under the TWO section because her ToyFare boxed exclusive is technically a repaint of her 2 Tuff Series 5 figure.

Hey, awesome post chicago. But you forgot to include another Jim Ross and perhaps referee from this www.entertainmentearth.com/images/AUTOIMAGES/JK82434LG.jpg JR is in a denim shirt with the wwf logo. I own this ring. Pretty cool JR figure. I bought it from Kmart, so I'm guessing it was a Kmart exclusive. Even though it's a ring for TTL figures, I'm almost certain the JR and referee figures were from BCA line

There are two variations of the Ringside Collection Series 2 BCA JR figure, one with "War Tony" written on the jacket and the other "War Zone", though it is still technically his one-and-only BCA figure. I purposefully left out all variants, too, so I was only counting the one figure.

Hey, chicago, very comprehensive list, must have taken you time to craft it. I also checked out your BCA blog and I found it to be very enjoyable, especially that wild Rumble! Shows newbies in the BCA line like me that you can really have a great pic fed style match with 'em. Like I said before, you guys got me hooked and I'm already waiting on my small first batch of BCAs to arrive on the mail.

Looks like there are more Steve Austins then i thought. I only had 42 of them in my first collection.I think i have 10 of them now.
That's the thing about the bca line. When you think you have them all you find out you don't.

There were so many retailer exclusive figures that makes it so difficult to compile proper lists. I know KB Toys had their exclusives, and I recall seeing BCA figures up here in Canada at freaking Blockbuster Video of all places. The series I saw was Shotgun Saturday Night in the US I believe, but up here it was called WWF Metal.
And chicago, I think it's appropriate to keep Blue Blazer as a separate entry in your list seeing as it's not just another Owen Hart figure with a different attire. Much like Kurrgan and The Godfather, they were the same people but wrestled under different names therefore they should be kept separate, but acknowledged as the same wrestler in my opinion. Terrific list nonetheless.

I am, for the most part, clueless as to what exclusives exist out of the United States, but I appreciate any input from members such as yourself. Do you know if there were any changes made to the packaging where it might read "WWF Metal" on the insert or was it just the same Shotgun Series figures as there were in the states? For the record, I included one of the Canadian KB Toys bagged Austin exclusives that I know of (thanks to WF member STOMWIJF) in the count for his figures.

I distinctly recall seeing the back carding being gray and showing the WWF Metal logo on it. As for the cardboard inserts inside of the packaging, I can't remember much. In terms of who was in the set, I think I remember seeing an early, non-DX version of Road Dogg with the headscan where his head is almost cartoony and round while wearing a bandana. I know there was a head scan for him where he had a baseball cap on, but this was different. It was from the original New Age Outlaws 2-pack.

I'll be on the lookout, though I don't know how much success I will have since these kind of exclusives can often go missing for years. Thanks for all of the details that you can remember.
Now, I want to know if anyone remembers this JCPenney Exclusive. I posted a larger pic before of the full-page scan taken from a Wish book, but this image is bigger and clear as to what was included. Here's a description first (this news was shared on the old Figure Zone website in October '99 as being available for order from JCPenney at the time). "Set the stage for an action packed World Wrestling Federation® event! Set includes 13½"x13½" wrestling ring, coffin, 6-inch "Bone-Crunching" action figures and accessories. Unassembled; no tools needed. Plastic. Assembled in USA of parts imported from China." Add this to a list of Attitude Ring variations, as you'll see the "Monday Night Raw" sticker on the side is exclusive to this ring. The figures and accessories, however, were re-releases. The ringskirt sticker reminds me of an ECW-esque ring.

If anyone sees the new poll I've added to my BCA blog, here are some reference pics to consider before I include them in my post. I want to know what people think of the BCA belts and which (if any) is their favorite. Here they are (it's been said to death, but these can only be found in certain BCA boxed sets - Championship Title Series #1 and #2, Off the Mat, and Hardcore Champions - and one "Total Attitude" Grapple Gear boxed set, all of which were exclusive to Toys"R"Us stores): Classic Winged Eagle Classic Intercontinental Classic Tag Team Classic European Attitude Big Eagle Attitude Intercontinental Attitude Tag Team Attitude Hardcore Attitude Smoking Skull Personally, I love all of the soft, rubbery belts produced during the BCA era. They're extremely flexible and aren't big and gaudy like some of the TTL-era sculpts. Of course, the belts could have been perfect by expanding on the original, detailed Classic sculpts with slightly larger straps, a glossy finish, and velcro buckles. The printed-on designs often felt and looked cheap in comparison, but we had no alternatives; even years after we had to put up with unpainted belts for our TTL figures (with the exception of the Immortal Champions boxed set).

Nice pics.
I only bought the Off the Mat set for the belts. The New Age Outlaw sculpts were ATROCIOUS (particularly Billy - just awful) and Rock looked like Dopey of the Seven Dwarfs.
Austin wasn't bad, but mine had Owen Hart arms with the thumbs up.
Out of all the belts, the World and the Intercontinental were the ones I used to love having figure battles over in my fed. The Eagle belt is still my favorite belt design (MUCH better than that spinning WWE belt, and not quite as obnoxious as the WCW title, which I had the Toy Biz version of).

My favorite belt was the classic i.c title. The winged eagle would be a close secound for me.

Was there ever a DOA boxset released? I seem to remember seeing a picture of it at some point. Anyone have a picture of it?

Nice pickups Chicago! Kane and Dude Love are fantastic. Love the Road Dogg body scan minus the head.
